Gotta milk some more concession dollars out of the patrons before sending them home. -

Ultimately you need results but I was always told that as a batter all you can really do is try to hit the ball hard, what happens after that really isn't in your control. Now I don't 100% agree with that cause I think batters do have some control where their batted balls go but in general there is truth to it. You may be able to let the ball travel deeper to go the other way with it but you're never going to be able to control whether that line drive the other way lands right in the RFs glove or fall just out of his reach. In regards to Tork I haven't really looked at his spray chart but if he is hitting the ball hard AND spraying it in different directions I really don't know what else he can do, now if his spray chart shows that all his hard hit balls are hit to a similar spot then maybe he needs to try to use the whole field so it makes it harder for teams to defend him. -

Sucks cause I was actually looking forward to this one just to see if Tork could carry over his success from last night against a premium starting pitcher in Spencer Strider. -
Dingler hits a 416ft bomb to CF. Btw has there been any news on Keith? Seems weird he would get 2 days off in a row particularly with a team off day sandwiched in the middle... unless he was hurt.

I remember a few years back on the old board somebody started a thread called "ZAch Short SS of the future?" I don't remember who started it but we all mocked him but maybe he will end up being right to an extent. I mean he's probably not gonna be a good starter for any real length of time but maybe he could be a better than average utility player who you can start for a shorter period and not get burned too bad. -
I'm starting to come around to Whitmore, if I knew they could get him to play an MPJ type role Id be more into him but part of me just fears that he could be a ball stopper that doesnt play to his role or strengths. I guess if they were to take him Id just have to trust Monty that he will get him to play the way the way the Pistons need him to play.

Could it mean a possible promotion is pending? Or is he hurt like every other promising player in the organization?

I never really paid attention to it in the NBA but atleast in the NFL I thought it was common place for the owner to get handed the trophy?

The NBA offseason always seems to go the fastest to me among the major sports. You got the draft stuff, then FA, then summer league then before you know it training camp and preseason is starting.

Don't know if this means we will be in the throwbacks as well. Btw let's hope TB plays in this game like they did back in the day in those unis.

With Butler being missing in action for all but a few minutes of the game Miami just didn't have the firepower to win despite a strong defensive effort. I mean 100 year old Kyle Lowry looked like their best offensive player for stretches last night.

The A's have won 6 in a row and thanks to that streak they are no longer on pace for the worst record in MLB history.

Im always happy when a non coastal team wins a championship(aside from Chi and Ohio teams of course). Its nice to see "the fly over states" beat the smug fans on the coast.

As of last week when I checked last Tork was in the top 5 or 10 as far as wOBA and xwOBA differential, which basically means he's been one of the most unlucky players in the league. If his actual wOBA was in line with his x then we'd be talking about an All Star caliber bat. -
Former Pistons castoffs Bruce Brown and KCP have taken over for Denver in the last 50 seconds of a championship closing game scoring their last 6 points and coming up with clutch rebounds and steals!

Of course I love the win but what gets me more excited was seeing Tork destroy a pitch 440ft then hit the game winner, even if that game winner would've just been a long flyout under normal defensive positions it was still nice to see him come through and do his job in the clutch. -
As somebody who uses those online gambling apps regularly they do require you to turn on your GPS and enable your location every time because it's not legal to gamble with those in all states so they have to know you are physically in a state where it is legal to do so before allowing you to play on them.

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your career Tork! -
Even though it was a shortened draft due to COVID at the time that whole class was lauded with Tork, Dingler, Cabrera, Workman, Cruz and Keith. I think at the time just about everybody including national guys thought we nailed it and so far it has been a disappointment with the exception of Keith and as good as he has looked this year he still is in AA so he's far from a sure thing.

Flores off to another horrible start, just gave up a 3 spot in the first. Just been a complete disaster for our pitching staff all throughout the system.

Shutout for the 3rd time in this 8 game losing streak and have scored 2 runs or less in 6 of them. Not good! -
You obviously never know but to me they would need alot of things to go right to be a legit team next year. You'd need Greene to play like he did in May all year, Tork to atleast be an .800 OPS type guy, Javy to come closer to his pre Det levels, Carpenter to be a plus bat and then a breakout from say a Malloy or Keith. If that were to happen you would then have 5-6 legit bats in the lineup which could be enough to score enough runs to win assuming Fetter can continue to work some magic with the pitching staff.
-
Depending on what the guys ahead of him did Keith could move into 2nd in the Eastern League in OPS after tonight.

I guess the results are all that matters but his actual batted ball stats aren't that good, in fact he is one of the top 5 luckiest players in baseball based off of that. He is plus at striking out and elite at not swinging and missing but everything else he does is well below average. Obviously would still rather have him on the team at this point but I think sooner or later these numbers will correct himself and we will see that he isn't nearly as good as his traditional stats say right now. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/isaac-paredes-670623?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb -
Jung with another HR, now has 2HRs and a double off the wall to straight away center on the night.
