It appears Skubal's night is done after 3IP and 48 pitches. Went 3IP 2H 1R(unearned) 6Ks and 0BBs. Finished strung striking out the last 2 batters and 4 out of the last 5 and was hitting 95 at the end.

He's up to 6th in the whole league in OPS and tied for 5th in homers, top 3 in both the past 15 days.

I look at last year and sure it was fun the last few games(loss aside) but other than that the first 2 and half months of the season was pretty boring to watch as a fan. No games to really get psyched up or excited for or any games where your team can make a real statement. Those are the ones that make following College Football fun to me. Granted that wasn't all on Michigan though, yeah they could've scheduled atleast one legit team in their non conference schedule but that still would've left a ton weak games in conference due to every non Penn St and OSU B1G team sucking last year. Hopefully in the coming years that won't be the case.

I loved Mize pre draft cause I thought his command was elite but that of course wasn't the case. I was so used to us getting these power arms with no control the thought of getting an arm that had 70+ grade command with mid 90s velocity was tantalizing to me. Then on top of that having a wipe out secondary pitch just made him that much more attractive. The problem of course was that his command wasn't nearly what I expected and his FB didnt have the life on it to get whiffs if you missed in the zone. Not to mention his fabeled splitter was nowhere to be found. Not giving up on him though but my expectations now are for a solid number 2-3 not elite ace like I thought he could've been originally.

It felt like all the way up to the draft all you heard was how Tork was a generational bat then almost as soon as we drafted him all the sudden you started hearing reports about possible red flags about him. Same with Mize too, he was this can't miss pitching prospect then right after we draft him suddenly people start bringing up questions about him.

I enjoy watching Michigan play in big games so even if it makes it harder for them to get to the CFP Id probably get more enjoyment out of the season watching them play a half dozen or so ranked teams or big games vs. just a few and the rest be cupcakes.

Yeah to me there is very little benefit to being patient in this day and age. You're better off swinging early cause the deeper you go in the count the tougher the pitch you're going to get. Gone are the days where pitchers will give you a cookie on 3-1 cause they don't want to walk you, they're not going to give in cause they don't care if you take 1st base they just don't want to give up a bomb.

Considering the draft doesn't seem to have a consensus 4th or 5th prospect it seems weird that they would want to move into one of those spots. I guess they must really like a certain player and want to do whatever it takes to ensure they get him. I think a dream scenario for them would be to get Amen and then get my boy **** at 11 who I think is a perfect fit for them.

Yeah it is, what makes it even worse is that were not exactly loaded with young talent on the big league roster either. If we had a half dozen or so young studs on the roster it would make it easier to put up with the crappy system but that of course isn't the case.

Arraez is definitely a throw back to the Rod Carews and Tony Gwynns of the world. Not sure what the advanced metrics say about his game or approach but it's a nice change of pace seeing a high balls in play singles and doubles hitter instead of the high launch angle three true outcome guy that seemingly everybody else is nowadays.

Saw a few different tweets from guys saying that it's not nearly as bad as yesterday and they can actually see the Philly skyline from the press box which is something they couldn't see before so unless it changes for the worse I think they'll be playing tonight.
