Yeah same here. I've been looking around the net and the closest I have found was CBS listing us a the number 1 "dark horse candidate". Not saying this cause I'm a fan but even if I was an outsider it seems like the perfect fit. By most accounts the Lions are a NFC contender, they have a bunch of money to spend, have a clear need for him and have a potent offense around him so it wouldn't all be on him. He maybe able to play with a better QB or team but I think he'd be sacrificing money and potential targets/production in doing so where as here that wouldn't really be the case.

Really? If that's true hopefully Brad doesn't let him leave without signing a contract!

I guess the only danger is if pitchers just start throwing him more cookies and try to see if he can make enough hard contact to hurt them vs. trying to paint the edges cause it's clear at this point he has the eye to lay off borderline pitches.

The thing with McKinstry is that his peripherals don't suggest he is getting super lucky or anything, he is just walking alot which tends to stabilize quickly and is more predictive than other things so it's not unreasonable to think he can continue playing at or near this level for the remainder of the season. Hell if you look at his expected stats he's actually been a bit UNLUCKY thus far.

It's possible but that would mean we'd get more than one rep since I think E-Rod and Lange would both be our rep ahead of him. Right now I think you could make a strong case for those 3 and Greene for the ASG right now.

McKinstry is now 3rd in the AL in OBP trailing only 2 Rays.

Shreve's been a solid pickup thus far, he got lit up against Baltimore in back to back games but since then he's gone 11 appearances and only given up 1 run with good peripherals.

Ive been doing it with him for 10 days now and it took till today for him to finally get a hit.

Its not an easy task to rack up -.6 WAR in just 76 ABs, you're talking over negative 4 WAR if you play that out for a full season.

Clicked on the box score before turning on the game and the thing that caught my attention was not the 0s in the White Sox column but the 1 hit next to Ibanez's name. I genuinely was starting to think that he was never going to get another hit. Good for him!

THis game sucks but I believe this is the first time this season that we got blown out so bad we resorted to using a positional player as a pitcher, seemed like a regular occurrence last year.

It looked outside to me but Apple doesn't have the K zone so I wasn't sure.

Good to hear that there wasn't any set back but I heard last week that Ibanez was the guy in the batter's box during his simulated outing so if that's one of the guys he was pitching to today I'd take the no hard contact thing with a grain of salt cause at this point I think I could pitch to him and not give up any hard contact.

Not sure if this necessarily means these are the only teams he is interested in but Hopkins did say last week that the 5 QBs he would love to play for are Allen, Mahomes, Lamar, Herbert and Hurts so going by that it appears that it will indeed be another "rich get richer" outcome.

Not defending the situation and how they have handled it but it just figures that when we go to hire a HC it just so happens that it ends up being a year where all these top attractive teams fire their coaches right in the middle of our search.

Damn he would be PERFECT here but I'm sure he'll end up either going to a divisional rival or some other team that already has an embarrassment of riches.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE Meijer but something about their logo being on the jersey just makes it seem cheap, more so than if it was branded with a different type of business. Like it's something you would get as a free giveaway at the game or it makes me think of the knock off jerseys they sell at their store. Oh well I guess Meijer is better than Little Caesars I suppose.

I signed up last month for the game and of course forgot to cancel my free trial so I'm billed for this month, I figure I atleast try to get some use out of it by watching some stuff on there but I hate their interface. Maybe it's because I'm running off chrome laptop and not a mobile app but all I can find on there are like 20 different shows and movies and that's it. Like I search for "action movies" and I get a list of like 5. Same for whatever other genre I look for. It sucks! I guess I'll atleast get to use it to watch the game tonight though.

Our old friend Jose Iglesias opted out of his deal with the Padres and is now available. Yeah it's an empty BA but he hit .271 and .292 the past 2 seasons along with still having plus defense. I'd rather take an empty BA like that than the sub .200 we're getting from Scoop and Ibanez. Also he did play 2nd and 3rd in small samples in recent years so he should be able to play all along the diamond which gives us more versatility over them two.

Everybody loves to give Javy crap about his throws but currently he is tied for 5th for all positions in Outs above average and tied for 6th in runs prevented so he's been a big reason why the run prevention has been so much better.

To add to this I went and looked at his FG page and he's now on pace for a little over 5 WAR this season which is something I think we all would've gladly taken before the season. The negative is that he does have a .400 BABIP which means he may be due for some correction but with his batted ball profile and plus speed I think he is a guy who should have a higher BABIP so he may not be getting THAT fortunate. Also lets hope that some more HR power will come which will offset any loss of BA due to the potentially lower BABIP forthcoming.

That single puts Riley over the .800 OPS mark on the season. Outside of maybe the first week of the season I don't think he has been that high all year.

That would suck to grow up with the last name Bummer.
