If USC does lose OSU better hope for Michigan to look as impressive as possible Saturday. If we barely win or God forbid lose their loss to us will look worse and the committee would almost certainly think that the B1G isn't worthy of 2 teams in that case.
-
Wilson, Prescott, Hurts, Cousins and Lamar Jackson(essentially a 2nd round pick) are recent examples of qbs that werent taken with a teams first pick that were hits but yeah generally that is a tough way to go but not impossible.
-
I think so too but I just never know how to read the committee and how they would react to a certain game. I know they factor in injuries so if we were to lose and God forbid suffer a major injury to JJ, Edwards along with Corrum perhaps that may deter them from putting them in.

The big thing to look for in the reveal tonight is who is at 5 since you would presume that team would be the one to get in if any of the top 4 have stumbles this weekend and drop out. Of course if it's OSU then you would think that locks UM in cause even if they were to lose to Purdue the committee wouldn't put OSU ahead of them.

The Stafford trade could net some serviceable Goff qb play, Jameson Williams(took more than just the pick but the rams pick was the centerpiece) and a top 5 pick. Pretty good end result.
-
I certainly wouldn't do that but if a team falls in love with a QB they've been known to give up whatever it takes to get them which is why I really hope Chicago doesn't get the number 2 pick and wouldn't be opposed to us losing to them late in the season to help that cause. I don't want them getting a potentially franchise altering haul, if some team is going to get that I'd prefer it be an AFC team or even better us.

Miggy confirms that 2023 will be his final season but intends on staying with the organization in some capacity.
-
As expected after his performance Thursday, Houston has been added to the 53 man roster and Charles Harris going to the IR. Just a complete lost season for Harris.
-
Jose Abreu to the Astros, was gonna say nice to see him out of the division but aren't they changing the scheduling next year so it's more balanced with less divisional games?
-
I did lol at the video of the unveiling, dont have a link but basically they had the whole thing covered then did the big reveal infront of all fans, at first you got all the cheers like you normally would for an unveiling then within a few seconds after the people processed what they saw it suddenly hushed down with a bunch of murmurs of people probably saying "wtf is that?" to each other.

While I don't trust any of the qbs enough this year to take in the top 5 Im far from an expert to put it mildly so if Holmes thinks one of the qbs is worth the pick Ir be fine with that as well, then just go defense with our 2nd pick and possibly 2nd rounder. I say possibly cause Id still like a big outside WR but haven't looked closely enough at this class to say anybody in particular.

I thought the guys on the radio were exaggerating about Sean Taylor's "statue" but it's even worse than I imagined. You can argue whether he deserves a statue/memorial but if you're gonna do it don't half ass it like this. Embarrassing.

Rams pick up to 3 just behind Houston and Chicago. I don't like rooting for losses but I wouldn't be against losing to Chicago in the 2nd to last week if we aren't in the playoff hunt just to hurt their chances at the 2nd pick.

He also punted at midfield in the 4th down by I believe 11 as well. Just an overall horrendous job of coaching.
-
I agree, I see people shitting on Stroud and yeah he did miss some throws but for the most part every completion he made there was a wolverine defender right on the receiver, perhaps there were guys running free that he missed that weren't shown on camera but as far as I can recall I don't remember seeing any guys wide open.

So I was thinking when I heard the news we were playing Purdue "it feels like we haven't played them in awhile?" so I googled it and we haven't played them since 2017 and before that it was October of 2012, so next week will be the first time we played them in 5 years and only the second time in the last 10. I know they play in a different division than us but that seems kinda strange.

There just doesn't seem to be much progression and growth from OSU's players since Meyer left. Yeah they'll still churn out NFL players because they were 5* recruits to begin with but I don't see the players getting any better year to year. They almost remind me of the Michigan teams of the 2010s, while we never had as much talent as OSU has, we did get our fair share of really good recruits but they never seemed to get any better than when they arrived which how teams like MSU would beat us despite getting less talent.
-
LSU may very well come back and dominate this game but it's funny to me how the SEC always gets a free pass, currently they are about to be trailing a 4-7 A&M team late in the 2nd quarter, lets say for argument sake they end up coming back and winning a close one I'd be willing to bet they won't get docked like a team from another conference would for struggling to beat a 4 win team.
-
If we had zero holes I'd be willing to take a chance in the top 5 on Young, Stroud or Levis but since we don't I just don't have enough faith in them to take them over other needs but with that said I would love to have another team fall in love with one of them and trade up for our spot, kinda like the deal Philly got from a SF for Lance.

If this was his first ever coaching job I could understand questioning him losing big games but you don't go to the Rose Bowl with Stanford, go the multiple NFC Championship games and the Super Bowl if you always lose any game of significance. That's what I never got from haters, he took us to 2 OTs in Columbus his 2nd year where if the spot went different we would've won, he had us beating a then top 10 MSU team where if we didn't blow a punt we would've won if those fluke plays didn't happen and we won does that suddenly mean he's a better football coach? Going by the haters logic of him not winning "big games" it did.
-
I'll give the naysayers a free pass on JJ since he never proved anything but I'll never get over the Harbaugh hate, he's one of the best 5 football coaches in the world and has proved it over and over again yet because he lost a few times with vastly inferior players suddenly people didn't think he was a good coach. Never understood it.
