Just saw this little nugget. By the way it was nice to see Riley smoke both those balls, as good as his OBP had been up until that point he hadn't hit many balls super hard, a good chunk of his hits were opposite field flares or groundballs so this was a welcome sight.

I still wouldn't be surprised if it was Miggy especially if his BA stays above .300. Yeah it's an empty .300 and this isn't 1980 where BA means everything but still I think between the lack of any guaranteed options on the team, him getting his 3K hit this year and with him being on his last legs of a HOF career to go with that .300 average may be enough for him to get a charity selection for the team.

Murray's going to be really good as long as he can overcome the curse of the Kings. It's not exactly going out on a limb considering how NBA ready he is supposed to be but I think he's my pick for ROY.

The reason guys like Cade, Stew and Saddiq are going are because Casey and Weaver want to give them a little game action together. James Edwards theorizes that they aren't going to see a ton of action maybe a half or so. Personally I don't think it's necessary but whatever. Also if you're wondering why Duren isn't on the team it's because he can't join the team until the trade is finalized, not sure when that will be but it's the same reason our 2nd round pick of Gabrielle Procida isn't on it either cause he was drafted with the 2nd round pick acquired for Grant.

Whoops didn't realize there was a summer league thread, I guess I"ll take my post there.

Not sure if it's been mentioned or not the Pistons summer league roster will consist of Cade, Saddiq, Stew, Hayes, Livers, Lee and Jaden Ivey. Yeah it's surprising to see our starters in summer league but I guess Casey and Weaver said they just want to give them a little game time action to together, James Edwards says that from what he can gather it will only be like for a one half. Also if you're wondering why Duren isn't on the roster I guess he can't be named to it until the deal officially goes through, same with 2nd round pick Gabriel Procida who was part of the Grant trade. First game is July 7th at 12 and will be on ESPN.

Did I just hear Gibby say the Tigers are 1 for 29 on the season with runners on 2nd and 3rd? If that is accurate that is insane.
-
Giddey and 3 firsts, who says no? Durant, SGA, Dort, Chet among others could be a damn good squad! Not sure if the Nets would qualify Giddey as a "young star" though. Don't know if they still have their picks but if they do the Raptors could be another option if they are willing to part with Barnes.

I see no reason why he would have to lie about it though if he was in touch with him. Why couldn't he just say that they keep in touch regularly but he is still going through his personal issues and will return as soon as he feels ready to do so.

For the record my issue isn't with the Tigers, I think it's noble what they are doing and how they seem to be handling it well my issue is with ERod. I know divorces can be tough and I can only imagine it makes it that much more difficult when you have the kind of estate that a pro athlete has but he certainly isn't the first athlete to have to go through this and to my knowledge none have taken a month(s) long leave with very little contact with the team or any time table of their return. IDK the whole thing just doesn't seem right to me.

As somebody who has never been married maybe I'm being cold hearted but if the rumors are true that he is MIA for "marital problems" I don't think that is a good enough reason to still be getting paid during the whole ordeal. If he wants to take time off to go handle it I guess nobody can stop him but you shouldn't expect to be paid the whole time and if you are you should atleast give the courtesy to check in and give updates to your employer. Not disappear off the face of the Earth.

That would be hilarious. I would like for one of these times a player that demands a trade actually gets traded to a worse situation. I will say that is one of the things I did respect about Blake, I don't believe he demanded a trade nor was he a superstar the level of Durant but he was still a star when we got him and he didn't bitch and moan that he was traded here or threatened to sit out. He gave it his all and tried to make the best out of a bad situation.

Yeah I think somebody corrected him on a couple names cause he posted a revised list. Avila of course is still at the bottom nonetheless.

Just came across this tweet. Even that winning percentage is skewed cause they had a half way decent winning percentage the first couple years of his tenure with players that he didn't acquire.

If Gobert fetched that much draft capital what and the hell will Durant fetch? It would have to be centered around current players cause I don't think any team outside of OKC would even have the draft capital to top that even if they traded every 1st round pick that they are allowed to trade.

Unless they are all heavily protected that is a great haul. While having talent Minnesota isn't one of those teams that I can say for sure are going to be really good for the foreseeable future. I think they could easily have a year or two where they are in the lottery with a little bad luck so if there are just minimal or no protections on these picks it could end up being really really good for Utah.

I wonder if Mitchell will be on the move next. I read somewhere last night that the Heat were trying to come up with a package to get him.

Otto Porter to the Raptors on a 2 year deal with the 2nd year being a player option. The Warriors have lost a couple of their complimentary pieces in GPII and Porter now but something tells me they are still going to be fine.

If they truly only care about developing the young guys and are committed to playing him 10-18mpg while working on things he may need work then by all means do it but I don't think that is their mindset. I think they very much are going to play to win games and I don't think that is the best scenario for a raw prospect to develop. That means for starters if he isn't performing off the bat they are going to give him inconsistent minutes and put him guys that are performing or they are going to only play to his strengths which doesn't help him develop other parts of his game. I have no doubts that he can come in and be a rim runner but I'm hoping to develop and fine tune his game to be more than just that and I think that would be hard to do on the fly in the NBA where you're trying to win. Yeah if we start off like we did last year and it's clear we are destined for the lottery and management is ok with just giving minutes to all the young guys with the sole purpose of developing them then that is a different story.
-
He could've said "I'm disappointed with the results but I have confidence that AJ will turn it around" or something of that nature. Don't patronize the fan base by saying you're "very pleased" and talk about young players have come up and developed when one of the biggest knocks is that our young guys have gotten injured, regressed in the case of Baddoo or have been disappointments in the case of Tork.

I remember pre draft Greg Doyle who is an Indy writer was tweeting stuff like "The Pacers are going to get a franchise altering move for Brogdon", Unless Nesmith breaks out and/or Boston gets battered by injuries and the pick ends up being good I don't think this is going to be franchise altering.
-
I guess they had no choice but that's insane but I suppose I have to get used to contracts like that in this day and age. Just like Bradley Beal getting 5/252, great player but not somebody worth paying 50 million a year for.
-
I agree that he definitely isn't going to get a lifetime ban but unless there is some real logical explanation he should definitely get a severe penalty. As far as possibly getting attacked first even if that is the case he is a 6'7 250lb professional athlete, he should have no problem subduing the situation without beating her half to death.

Tell me you haven't been watching all season without telling me you haven't been watching all season. Seriously what guys is he talking about?
