  1. If Gobert fetched that much draft capital what and the hell will Durant fetch? It would have to be centered around current players cause I don't think any team outside of OKC would even have the draft capital to top that even if they traded every 1st round pick that they are allowed to trade.
  2. Even that winning percentage is skewed cause they had a half way decent winning percentage the first couple years of his tenure with players that he didn't acquire.
  3. Unless they are all heavily protected that is a great haul. While having talent Minnesota isn't one of those teams that I can say for sure are going to be really good for the foreseeable future. I think they could easily have a year or two where they are in the lottery with a little bad luck so if there are just minimal or no protections on these picks it could end up being really really good for Utah.
  4. I wonder if Mitchell will be on the move next. I read somewhere last night that the Heat were trying to come up with a package to get him.
  5. Otto Porter to the Raptors on a 2 year deal with the 2nd year being a player option. The Warriors have lost a couple of their complimentary pieces in GPII and Porter now but something tells me they are still going to be fine.
  6. If they truly only care about developing the young guys and are committed to playing him 10-18mpg while working on things he may need work then by all means do it but I don't think that is their mindset. I think they very much are going to play to win games and I don't think that is the best scenario for a raw prospect to develop. That means for starters if he isn't performing off the bat they are going to give him inconsistent minutes and put him guys that are performing or they are going to only play to his strengths which doesn't help him develop other parts of his game. I have no doubts that he can come in and be a rim runner but I'm hoping to develop and fine tune his game to be more than just that and I think that would be hard to do on the fly in the NBA where you're trying to win. Yeah if we start off like we did last year and it's clear we are destined for the lottery and management is ok with just giving minutes to all the young guys with the sole purpose of developing them then that is a different story.
  7. He could've said "I'm disappointed with the results but I have confidence that AJ will turn it around" or something of that nature. Don't patronize the fan base by saying you're "very pleased" and talk about young players have come up and developed when one of the biggest knocks is that our young guys have gotten injured, regressed in the case of Baddoo or have been disappointments in the case of Tork.
  8. I remember pre draft Greg Doyle who is an Indy writer was tweeting stuff like "The Pacers are going to get a franchise altering move for Brogdon", Unless Nesmith breaks out and/or Boston gets battered by injuries and the pick ends up being good I don't think this is going to be franchise altering.
  9. I guess they had no choice but that's insane but I suppose I have to get used to contracts like that in this day and age. Just like Bradley Beal getting 5/252, great player but not somebody worth paying 50 million a year for.
  10. I agree that he definitely isn't going to get a lifetime ban but unless there is some real logical explanation he should definitely get a severe penalty. As far as possibly getting attacked first even if that is the case he is a 6'7 250lb professional athlete, he should have no problem subduing the situation without beating her half to death.
  11. Tell me you haven't been watching all season without telling me you haven't been watching all season. Seriously what guys is he talking about?
  12. True but unless the injuries she showed came from some other accident or it wasn't him she was talking about cause atleast from what I read she didn't mention him by name, perhaps she was in some side relationship otherwise I don't know how this can possibly be excused.
  13. I agree, not that any kind of abuse is ok but reading between the lines of her post this doesn't sound like just a momentarily lapse in judgement in a heat of an argument where he hit her and immediately regretted and had remorse for it, that a lone is uncalled for but doing it repeatedly over the course of the relationship takes it to a whole different level and should be punished to the furthest extent possible.
  14. Yeah that's what I'm guessing, he didn't say it but other mocks speculated we may also be interested cause he is a "local kid". That is about the dumbest reason to draft somebody that there is particularly with baseball when the fanbase as zero knowledge of the player anyway. In other sports you atleast have the benefit that the local kid may help drive ticket sales or jersey sales but that isn't the case with baseball.

  16. With the draft just 2 weeks away from Sunday here is Jon Mayo's latest mock. He has us doing the nightmare scenario of taking another HS pitcher in Brock Porter from nearby Orchard Lake St. Mary's. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-mock-draft-june-30-2022?t=mlb-draft-coverage
  17. He wasn't a lottery pick but didn't Sekou spend quite a bit of time with the Drive his rookie year? I know he played with us too but I seem to recall him spending time there, if so he was only picked a couple spots after Duren and like him was really young so there is a little bit of precedent. And it's not like it would be set in stone, if guys go down or his game advances quickly you could always bring him up to play.
  18. What was it only a few years ago where Emoni was supposed to be the best HS prospect since Lebron and MSU won the lottery getting him? Now nobody wants him and he had to settle for EMU. Just a major fall from grace.
  19. Yeah that's actually what I expect them to do or atleast I hope they do. He may have alot of potential especially defensively but he is still extremely raw, I think for the benefit of him he needs to get regular minutes but at the same time he probably isn't ready to do that at the NBA level. I don't want him out there looking like crap and being overmatched, I'd rather him work on things against lesser talent and in a less pressured environment. I also don't want him to be a Darko and just ride the bench and only come in late in games for garbage time, I don't think that will do him any good.
  20. As of now I think Verlander will go in as a Tiger or atleast should but if he has 3 or 4 more great years with the Astros then that probably won't be the case. That would be 8 or 9 years with the Astros and 11 with us so not a major difference in time and assuming the Astros will still be good throughout that tenure he will probably have had more team success there as well and will have at the very least the same number of Cy Young awards. Even if that all that were to happen though you could still argue for the Tigers since he did pitch more years there and unless he has monster years to close out his career will have had more WAR for us, probably one of the closer decisions for Hall of Famers ever. Also just want to say that one of the more low key disappointments of this failed rebuild is knowing that in all likelihood we aren't going to see our Prodigal Son Justin Verlander come home and lead us to a World Series. A year ago at this time I had hopes that we could sign him and by 2024 that could happen, that would've made him the same age as Kenny Rogers when he helped lead us to the pennant. With the trainwreck we have seen this year I think I can scrap those dreams.
  21. Gary Payton II going to the Blazers. Much like I have with the former Patriots in the NFL I'm always skeptical of how former Warriors will perform away from that system and coaching staff but if he can maintain his level of play this could be an underappreciated offseason acquisition for the Blazers.
  22. Dude had the nerve to post this a couple weeks ago all the while abusing his significant other. The NBA should "Deshaun Watson him" and make a major example to show that this type of behavior won't be tolerated. Edit: just realized it was from June 16th of 2020 not this past June 16th but still my point still stands.
  23. Perhaps it's recency bias and the fact that when I actually watched him he and the team played well but I'm fine with the Bagley contract. It may be a slight overpay but 12 million a year isn't all that much these days, especially with the cap going up every year so if he can maintain his play over the last 2 months of the season with the Pistons I think it will be well worth it.
  24. Yeah it is frustrating as hell to me. I don't mind so much when it's somebody like Lillard in Portland, Lebron his first time in Cleveland(left in FA but overall point is the same) or even Matthew Stafford with the Lions where you play for an inept franchise for years and you do all you can for them but it just doesn't seem to be happening so you want to move on but nowadays these guys play on talented teams but the first sign of a little adversity they bitch and want out instead of you know actually trying to overcome it.
  25. Yeah I don't think it's a stretch to say he is the most talented player to ever play the game. Aside from just his raw numbers but just his physical tools, his sprint speed is in the 75 percentile, his max exit velo is the tops in baseball, and his pitch velocity is in the 90 percentile.
