  1. Tennessee wins so we get them on Saturday. According to my ESPN app the game is set for midnight but something tells me that isn't accurate.lol
  2. Allen Robinson to the Rams for 3/45 with 30 guaranteed. Sounds like they still want to bring back OBJ too. I'm sure we'll be getting the 32nd pick again next year
  3. I wonder why Watson didn't want to go to Cleveland?(well other than it being Cleveland) They got some nice pieces on defense including arguably the best pass rusher in football and on offense they just got Cooper and have a premium rb in Chubb. Also I believe the Browns have a fairly big fanbase throughout the country. I think they are in much better shape and more attractive than the Saints and Falcons for sure and possibly the Panthers as well.
  4. Dealing for Oakland pitchers always concerns me, aside from their Park being so friendly the franchise seems to be pitching whisperers of sort. I don't have the evidence to back it up at this time but it "seems" like they decline after leaving there.
  5. Watson eliminated the Browns from contention so maybe Baker will be back there. Also with them being eliminated that means he is almost assured to be coming to the NFC with the Saints, Falcons and Panthers being the 3 teams left talking to him.
  6. A good offense doesnt magically make a defense better per se but it can help the overall numbers by keeping the defense off the field more. After all the more time your offense has the ball the less time your bad defense is out there.
  7. The rich get richer, Freeman to the Dodgers for 6/163.
  8. Speaking of announcers Rod Allen just got hired by the Marlins to be their TV analyst.
  9. Joe Buck is leaving Fox to do MNF with Aikman. I know Buck is kinda a polarizing announcer so for those that don't like him take solace in knowing you won't have to listen to him call the Tigers World Series games in the coming years.
  10. Hopefully that'll happen with us and Verlander before he retires.
  11. Yeah while quick rebuilds can happen in the NFL it was unrealistic to expect the Lions to be one of those considering how barren their roster was so it never really made sense to make a big splash in FA this year. Unlike other sports where you can sign a young player a year or two ahead of your timeline with the hopes of them being here when you're good in a sport like football that is a dangerous proposition. No matter the age you routinely see guys performance nose dive in any given year because the nature of the sport so you're playing russian roulette signing a guy to big money in hopes that they will still be that same player a year or two from now, even if they aren't that old.
  12. I wonder if Rodgers coming back changed the Lions strategy at all? Perhaps if he would've left the division the Lions may have saw an opening and spent some money to try to expedite their timeline but since he didn't they figured the smart thing would just be to stay the course and open up the wallet at another time.
  13. I think the Lions are also hoping for some progression within with the likes of Levi, McNeil, J Okwara and maybe Barnes. If they get a couple of those guys to progress, along with an impact defender at 2 and possibly another solid one later on in the draft then the defense may look alot better.
  14. I think the guys they brought back thus far were productive guys, just cause the defense sucked as a whole doesnt mean every player did. The Lions defense was horrible with guys like Slay and Diggs yet fans got mad when they got rid of them. I think the Lions figure to try to improve through the draft while keeping the players they thought were good.
  15. It's the perfect year for the Lions to trade down but other teams are looking at the same set of players and thinking the same thing. The one thing we have going for us is the Texans sitting right behind us so if a team does fall in love with a QB they may want to make sure they get a head of them.
  16. I don't like to treat stats like this as gospel but being ranked highly in it is certainly better than the alternative.
  17. 3 straight years of a sub 4 ERA including a 2.65 in 2020 and FIPs all sub 4 are pretty good to me. He's not an ace but he has gone on stretches of ace like pitching. I think he'd be a great get that shouldnt break the bank prospect wise. If it does then obviously you don't do it.
  18. Reds continue to tear apart their team, just traded Winker and Suarez to the Mariners. If I were the Tigers Id be calling them about Luis Castillo, if he could be had for a reasonable price Id be all over him. Still has 2 years of control left.
  19. The AFC West just keeps getting better, I do worry about ex NE guys though, particularly ones that NE doesnt put much effort in keeping. Trey Flowers is exhibit A of this.
  20. I know alot of sports contracts have provisions against things like riding motorcycles but even if Tatis' did the Padres couldn't do anything about it anyway even if they wanted to since it was during the lockout, correct?
  21. Apparently the doctor's that looked at it are suggesting it's not a new injury, he got in a motorcycle accident sometime in the offseason which prompted somebody to ask him today this question. This was his response.
  22. With them cutting Flowers and Okwara coming off an achilles injury its a little surprising that he wouldn't be a priority. Besides possibly having their eye on other NFL options Perhaps this is a sign that they plan on going DE at 2 whether it be Hutch, KT or the guy from Georgia as well.
  23. I feel bad for the dude that just bought Brady's "last" TD ball at an auction on Saturday for 500K.
  24. I have a feeling this is the signing that puts us over the top!
  25. Goodrum signs with the Astros for 2.1 million plus incentives.
