  1. Ten of those have come in the last 20 games alone. Just pathetic!
  2. For sure but I do find it funny how all you hear about is how young their roster is and how good they are so they are set up for years yet you dont hear that much talk about the Lions despite their roster being almost equally young and filled with more proven young players. All their skill players, best O lineman, 3/4 D line, 1/2 LBs and 4/5 secondary are all 25 and under. With the vast majority of those guys already under control for atleast 3 more seasons along with their sub 30 yr old Pro Bowl QB.
  3. I hope he makes it for the name alone!
  4. I know scoring is way up throughout the league than it was at this point so these numbers aren't necessarily relative but this is still a crazy tidbit to me.
  5. Depends on how much influence Troy Weaver has with his new Wizards job.
  6. This. Not saying Skubal doesn't look more impressive than Fulmer but for every Verlander trade where the prospects don't pan out there is a Fulmer instance where you keep the young pitcher and he ends up flaming out due to injuries. That's why I'm on the fence about the potential Skubal trade, I could see both sides of it, but I will say IF they do trade him I certainly would like the headliner to be more of a sure thing and closer to the big leagues than a 19 year old pitcher with only a half year of success like Franklin Perez was in the JV trade.
  7. To me Duren has no use for this team, not writing him off as a player in general cause he could turn out fine but I view him more as a complimentary piece that isn't going to make a bad team any better. By the time we are competitive(if that ever happens) he will be expensive and not worth the money. Ivey I'm a little more bullish on cause he has shown flashes but you can't ignore the lack of lateral athleticism, so if you don't think he could be a quality number 2 or high end 3 on a playoff team than no point in keeping him either. imo
  8. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/top-25-nfl-players-25-and-under-for-2024-vikings-justin-jefferson-among-nine-star-wrs-to-make-the-list/ 5 Lions make the list. If you cut it off at UNDER 25 than the Lions would have 5 of the 15 players on the list. Yet according to some lazy national pundits their window is closing after this year.
  9. That Tork HR is nice to see off a 96mph pitch but unfortunately that wouldve prob just be a long out at Comerica.
  10. Im with you there, championships are cool and all but Id rather be a fan of the 90s/00s Braves(even if you throw out their 1 title) than the Marlins.
  11. Turn it on right into time for Riley's RBI triple, since I missed the offensive explosion the other day I legit think this is the first run I have actually witnessed them score in atleast a week. Feels good!
  12. I go back and look at some of the regulars for that 2011 team and its amazing we made it as far as we did. I guess it helps having the best hitter on the planet at that time in the middle of the order and getting career years from guys like Avila and Peralta.
  13. In McKinstrey's defense it's probably the first time he has been on third base all season, probably doesn't remember what to do there.
  14. Mize has 46Ks on the year....he's given up 42 runs.
  15. In this day in age a full time catcher with a .780 OPS is a star! If he comes close to that Id be thrilled.
  16. Likewise I don't want a punch and Judy type hitter who has a good average but no power. Good luck in this day and age trying to score consistently by stringing together 3 singles in a row against pitchers who may give up 5 or 6 hits the entire game.
  17. Yeah for the longest time I used .800 as the baselline for a good OPS and maybe .750 average and anything below .700 absolutely dreadful, like the Adam Everette's of the world. But now .800 is borderline elite, .750 is perfectly fine and while being in the high 600s isn't good it's not completely bottom of the barrel like I used to view it as.
  18. Considering his strong play this year and the fact he turns 26 in September it seems like it's now or never for him to get a call up this summer to see what he is capable of in the majors. If you're not going to do it now then there really isn't a point to keep him on the 40 man going forward.
  19. Yep, I hate Baez as much as the next guy but the fact is there just simply isn't any more reliable options in the system at this point. Kinda sad really.
  20. Start building that Keith statue now!
  21. Of course the game I don't watch this week the offense goes off. Box score scouring and it's nice to see Keith have himself a great game, also couldn't help but notice that the White Sox have thrown 205 pitches in 8 innings. Maybe it happens more often than I think but its wild to me to see the 200+ number in total pitches category.
  22. This team just lacks major league caliber players, particularly on offense. I get frustrated with their approach and how they just seem too pass up too many good pitches but the fact is most of this lineup quite frankly shouldn't be in the major leagues at this point. You look at today's lineup for example and it featured only 2 guys who were blue chip prospects and 1 of them in Keith looks to not be ready for major league pitching. The rest were guys like Perez, Kriedler, Malloy and Rogers who were all viewed as fringe major leaguers at best and washed up vets that likely wouldn't be in any teams every day lineup in Urshela and Cahna. Granted I still would expect more than 6 runs for a week's worth of baseball like they put up this week but with this little talent you're never gonna produce consistent results. With Carpenter being injured, Tork turning into a pumpkin and Keith not hitting like we hoped any preseason hopes we had for this team to be competitive have gone out the window. If those 3 were performing like we hoped going into this season the offense would be looking a lot better.
  23. We joked when the Tigers scored 13 runs against the Astros about it being their runs for the week and things like that but since that game a week ago the Tigers have scored 5 runs total. Turns out we were being a way too generous when we thought 13 runs was a weeks worth.
  24. We're almost half way through Saturday and the Tigers are sitting on 4 runs scored for the entire week.
