Not necessarily. Teams deep in the playoff hunt that see themselves as really good 2nd line Center away would make the deal without an extension to get the player.

That was Same Old Tater. He’s gone and been replaced by Brand New Tater.

They are still getting 90% of McDonald’s AA team in college. What happens to the product when that number drops to 20% or lower?

I watched a few games recently and I am definitely a bit worried for the future of college basketball. They have a big problem as the style of play in the NBA continues to evolve. The two leagues are almost at polar opposites. The coaches are still the headlining stars of CBB and they all have the same defense first system. Coaches are figureheads in the NBA these days and defense is a thing of the past. I don’t see how playing for an Izzo, Few, or Cronin is going to prepare someone for the pro game right now. These other options that include G-League and Overtime Elite are going to pass the college game very soon when it comes to getting the top high school talent. Shockingly, it won’t be because of money. It will be that CBB style of play is stuck in the past and players find better places to develop their game for the next level. Why go somewhere where a coach determines your playing by how well you commit to playing defense when that has no bearing on your future NBA draft status. It reminds me a little of where Boxing was at in the early 2000’s as MMA was starting to come on the scene. The big boxing promoters of the day thought the sport was too entrenched in popularity and never gave any credence to an obvious threat until it was too late. Not sure how CBB fights this one but I expect they won’t even try as the fat cat coaches will do nothing and continue to collect the checks until the golden goose is dead.

The shady stuff that was the accepted norm at Michigan just didn’t fly at an above board program like Miami. 🧌

Or it was all the same person, the Florida scout that lives in Gainesville and watches the SEC as they come in.
-
It sucks they can’t use a 40% off any item coupon for that.
-
Steve Wilks would’ve come cheaper and would probably do a better job.

Among all the silly Mayer talk, interesting that Jeremiah only has him rated 3rd right now.
-
This has the potential to drastically impact the current financial models of all sports not named NFL.

If you don’t watch this show, you should.

This randomly popped up in my feed and made me go hmm.
-
So much for all those morons who said they’d never play a game in Detroit.

You should thank them. Facebook has one good use. Keeping up with kid and pet pictures of friends and family that you don’t see all the time. It’s a complete waste of time for anything other than that. Don’t even get me started on the folks that want to use it to argue politics and social issues.

I don’t believe that is right. Mahomes and Allen both signed extensions earlier than allowed but Mahomes didn’t kick in until this season and Allen next season. Both Chiefs and Bills played 2021 season with QB rookie deals against the cap. Burrow obviously was the other.

I’m not sure why any corner would choose to play in the Pac-12. The game is officiated so differently between what’s called in the SEC and B1G. Any physical play becomes a flag and it seems to inhibit guys developing good ball and cover skills. It’s really noticeable if you spend time watching the league. I’d take a some of these guys with later round picks for sure but I’m not sure that I’d ever spend a 1st round pick on Pac-12 corner. They would have to be super special and have plays that jump off the tape.

Was there talk of Stanford firing him if he didn’t resign on his own or was his job safe for as long as he wanted it?
-
Typical Florio clickbait. He’s turned into such a fucking clown.
-
Rumors circling that former Stanford coach David Shaw may really get the Broncos job. This is truly amazing since his only real qualification is that he coached at Stanford and the new Denver ownership groups are alums. He was 14-28 in his last 4 seasons prior to resigning. I don’t believe any of the other NFL openings even had him on their initial interview list.

Speaking of SJ, Timo Meier is a terrific young winger that is also probably available on the market. He’s not a C but still someone the Wings should have some interest in.

From a pure talent standpoint, the difference between Levi and Bresee is huge. Bresee has a much higher ceiling. I’m still very interested in him at 6 and will wait to see if the workouts or medicals change my mind. I do also put some value in being a Clemson DL as they’ve done a nice job of putting many quality guys in the league recently.

Speaking of pizza, I was at Buddy’s the other day and I’m happy to report they are back. There was a time in 2021 where they were really struggling. Their restaurants that used to have an hour wait at all times were completely empty, the menu had been cut down to just pizza and salad, and staff was minimal. It seemed that just as “Detroit Style” was finding a niche all across the county, the original was going to go out of business. Everything is normal again and glad to see they were back going strong. Don’t sleep on their chicken tenders. They’re not just for 6 year olds. As for almond boneless chicken, I think maybe it’s just a Michigan thing, and possibly even just metro Detroit. It’s still there at the many excellent Chinese restaurants in the Farmington/Farmington Hills area that I like to frequent.

Stick to sports. He’s too far gone when it comes to chili restaurants. There’s no saving him there.
-
FWIW, he’s one of the best face off men in the league.

You always pay more at the deadline than in the off-season. Does anyone really see this team catching fire and passing 5 teams for the right to make the playoffs and crushed by Boston in 4 games. I think they are best to sell or stand pat and make a splash in the summer.
