I agree. After all we've seen, mocking the reporter, grab them by the pussy, muslim bans, multiple impeachments, Jan 6.... this is the data point the GOP needs to finally tell him to go fuck off.

Now that the midterm elections are over, if not finished calculating, I figured it's time to kick this off for discussions related to this. With the lack of a red wave but Ron DeSantis doing so well in Florida it seems obvious that he's the consensus front runner, if not in numbers, but in punditry. The question is whether Donald Trump will step aside or fight him for it. He's already given him a nickname. I believe Ron could win the primary but I also think Trump has just enough of a populust/cult following that will just sit out the election. On the D side the big question is whether Biden runs. If he does will someone have the balls to primary him? If he doesn't, I doubt he annoints Harris as his favorite.

I think he's already got some but will have to take the DT initials off of them.

My question about the speaker earlier was basically, does the speaker have to come from the party that controls the House? If the majority party can't come to a consensus on the vote and the minority part does, then does the minority candidate become speaker?

Question on how you determine ththe speaker of the house. Is it a simple majority or is it determined by the party in charge? Like could we see, even if extremely unlikely, that a 220 GOP majority has 5 nutjobs who hold out and Pelosi is elected?

I would almost prefer that to a D house.

Yes I agree that term limits in MI hasn’t been good. It takes good people out of jobs under the guise of the preventing the generational incumbent. But those those people know the system. Right now there’s no accountability because even if they do a fine job they are done. It’s about lining up their next gig. By opening it up you invite more kooks to sneak in. we have the mechanism to vote people out and of voters won’t do that then they deserve what they get. But don’t prevent quality people that people want from serving because of populism.
