There's a new documentary out on Disney about her called Sally that I heard is fantastic. Going to watch tonight if no Tiger game. Her astronaut group was a push for diversity and there's a clip out there of Cronkite announcing the class and referring to 'blacks' and 'orientals'

He's not. But he's also not stupid. He was playing a role all these years on Fox. But if you go back to his early crossfire days he wasn't like that... plus there's the whole thing where he was playing nice with Hunter Biden back when his kid needed something. It's a game to Tucker. But he knows the reality. He doesn't deserve respect or the benefit of the doubt but he is capable of being correct when he wants to portray that. Why he's doing it now, who knows. Motivations are fair to question when he's had the career he's had.

That more than anything else was his motivation. He's not a strategist. He's reactionary.

If they PPD it early, then it will not rain. If they do not, then it will be touch and go but with it being thunderstorms they can't really play or start up. it looks like it's going to be one of those things where it's clear in one spot but 4 miles over it's lightning. We're going to have Florida weather today.

Wonder if Caputo still calls him "Casti-lannos"

Upper Deck box seats between 1B and 3B were the best seats in baseball according to George Will. In the summer if you got seats in the upper deck in RF you baked. But if you were one of the first ones to be let in the park at the corner of MI and Trumbull you could run up to that spot and get a bunch of baseballs that were HR's during the BP session that was going on.

Must be the Mandela effect because I would have lost a $100 on the flagpole still being in play at Tiger Stadium up until the end. I recall it being mentioned as a distinctive feature. I loved Tiger Stadium but I am also not romantic about it. All of these people still complaining about Comerica vs Tiger Stadium are the same ones who complain when a business closes but when you ask them the last time they patronized that business they say "Back when Bush was President.... the dad" It was a great place when the crowd was under 20K. Anything over that and you risked obstructed views, both in terms of a pole blocking some of the view and the upper deck blocking views of fly balls.

He and Quenten Berry had very high swagger to performance ratios.

Joe Falls also said a groundskeeper paced it off at 420. You would think that would break some kind of MLB role, no?

That’s a great way to put it.

I thougth Swaggert was already dead. There's a funny history when SNL began parodying Bakker and Swaggert and introducing the Church Lady. They actually started doing sketches before Bakker and Swaggert's scandals. Initially many of the NY based writers on the show didn't get the humor and didn't think it would sell but Jan Hooks was from the south and was very familair with the religious TV programming that went on down there. So they tried it then the scandal hit and mainstream america was introduced in mass scale the scamming that went on with TV preachers. The Church Lady was the first sketch put on SNL when the "new" cast started in Lorne's second year back, after the disaster of the previous year which had people like Downey Jr, Anthony Michael Hall, etc. on the cast. It was a last minute decision to start with Church Lady but it set the stage for that group and made a good first impression.

a cult. Members of cults will die for their leader.

that came across my feed last night and I watched.

yeah that area so desolate. Even before the Bridge. You'd have city blocks with a single house in the middle of nowhere. I like to look at cities like Wyandotte and imagine that's what a place like Delray used to look like in the 20s-50s. When I need to get out and go for a drive I often go down that way.

I'm at the point where it's easy to predict who will like and not like certain things about baseball. And I find myself rejecting what my age group peers feel. Like the City Connect jersesy. At first I was resisting them. But now I like them and appreciate their impact on the youth. I see the hats everywhere. It doesn't hurt anybody if they don't wear tehir home whites every single game. And besides once they changed the D on the jersey then the tradition went out the window anyway. Just seems like in my feed the people who rant against Benetti the most are old white guys who hate any change and also lament they "got rid of the real stats, like RBI and AVG"

Until this I had forgotten about Rhonda. Wasn’t it like 2.5 years ago he was assumed to be the next president?

Here it is if you want to listen to it. Leave it to a comedian to summarize so well. This should be our newscasters. A Cronkite. The first 6 minutes or so.

Bill Burr opened his podcast on Thursday with a rant that even for him was harsh. Basically with all the **** going on in the country... why this? We're going after "little people". Laborers. The people who pick our food and build our stuff. Who are they hurting? Isn't there other problems that could be addressed? What happens now when all these people are gone? Nobody objects to going after criminals. I don't mean the "they are here illegally so they are by default criminal" people. Yes the gangsters and rapists, etc. But the guy who builds fences and puts on roofs and picks cucumbers and paves our roads? The lady working in a diner for 25 years? The kid graduating high school? It's not about fighting crime it's about being cruel to brown people.

a friend and I have a running gag, going back over 20 years, of taking events and talking about them in an out of context but factual way. Like for 9/11 "Traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge was heavier than normal today due to an incident requiring response from multiple fire houses" "Colin Powell, the first Jamaican Secretary of State, died today..."

I wouldnt have my hopes up but I'm glad Rick Moranis is involved. He's a legend and his story is great.

There is a train of thought that the reason a baby cries when being born is because they realize they are forgetting everything and everyone they knew in their previous life. Kind of haunting.... Personally I like the meme that says "Screw that, I'm not going thru all of this again." Seriously... I'm gonna have to sit through more school days if reincarnation is a thing?

I didn’t go to the one here in Dearborn because the locals are turning it into a Gaza /anti Zionist rally so I want no part of that.

Does Cora read scouting reports? You’d think it would be an important part of the job.
