By the way, 13 of the Tigers' next 16 games are against teams under .500, the only exception being 3 at home to the Cubs next weekend.

I’ve been looking forward to this stretch for quite a while. Especially when we were scoring a lot of runs. But now that we’re not, it may not be quite as much a slam dunk as I thought.

Wow, a ump threw a guy out for tapping his helmet?   If you can't even take that gesture, you have no business umping in the Majors.  What a baby.

Tapping the helmet to signal a challenge is an automatic ejection. That's on the player.

I have no idea what this all means or how they arrived at this. I have no idea of how they quantify “power“ and all I see are results, but nobody is “showing their work” like in math class. Maybe I’m just too much of a moran make the proper inferences and fill in the work my own. I am not “Mike Myers, your company’s computer guy.” I wish somebody would just sit down and push me out of the way and make sense of this and laugh at me. At least I’d learn something.

As of June 2nd, 2025, the Tigers have the best MLB record. Does that make them the "best" team? IMO, no. But if these people wanna put out some type of "Power Rankings" and put the Tigers at top, I will gladly boast that my favorite team is #1 in these rankings. 😆

Oh boy,  Red Sox have a prospect name Richard Fitts.  🤦‍♂️

The Red Sox once had a prospect Jeff Ledbetter who was supposed to develop into the next great slugger.  The local media pumped him up big time.  He eventually flopped and fans started calling him Bedwetter.

one thing I never do as a sports fan is "look forward to" or "would rather face" with an opponent. It never works out.

the only time I had a strong "would rather face" feeling was the 2006 series. I wanted the Mets because I thought we matched up better. We'll never know if we would have matched up better against them or not but we didn't handle StL very well!

When it comes to post-season, a team is not a real champion unless they can beat everyone, so I don't worry about who they face.

LOL - I'd change your syntax there to "have beaten everyone" because we know the truth is that if any baseball playoff series was repeated the odds are pretty close to 50/50 the other team would win it the second time around.

That's just another reason for why it doesn't matter who they play!

The 2012 WS was a sweep.... Game 1 was a blowout (Verlander, go figure), in game 2 the Giants scored on a DP and SF. In game 3 the Tigers had chances but also had Quentin Berry at the plate for them.  Game 4 was extra innnings.

So 4-0 looks dominant.  The individual games show a closer series.

The 2012 Series is completely blocked from my memory like legit the only things I remember are the Sandoval home runs and unfortunately the last out of the series with Miggy left standing on the side of the road.

Also not from the series per se but I remember going to the Lions game during it and sitting next to Giants fans from SF who came in for the WS and decided to catch a Lions game while here. Really nice people I have to say.  Talked most of the game with them.
