Hearing some things about Ward Manual having a list of candidates already.   This comes from the "Ward Manual Preservation Society" Propaganda minister that I know.   He mentioned a guy named Goodwin from Tampa Bay.

I think Warde Manuel is the real deal, even if his names do have 2 too many 'e's.

If the rumors of Harbaugh to the Vikings are true (and there is quite a lot of smoke now), I think it's best the University does move on anyway.

When you take a job where you're entering in salary cap hell, you have Captain Kirk as your leader, and are missing the major pieces that will be necessary to make a real postseason push, you're saying you will take any job at the NFL level. He wasn't being picky (if the rumors are true), he just wanted employment.

If it aint rough it ain't right.  I just don't need 2009-2014 level chaos anymore.   I don't want Rich Rod coming in talking about Jesus.  I don't want Brady Hoke apologizing for his player throwing a tent peg into the turf in East Lansing.

This is Michigan.  We don't apologize and we are men and women of science.

Luke Fickell might say no, but you have to make him a substantial offer.

If Warde has to make a hire I think it will be really interesting - I wonder if he will come up with someone not on anyone's short lists.

I hope that knowing how mercurial Harbaugh is, Warde has been building his list for at least a few years now.

I’ve been beating this drum for 2 months now but I’m still very confused how this went down.   The true story probably isn’t so confusing but there’s so much behind the scenes that we don’t know.

They best I can surmise is if UM really wanted him as their coach they couldve kept him.and if Jim really wanted to be the coach he couldve gotten what he wanted.    I think both sides were only willing to budge so much and In the end both got what they wanted.   The timing isn’t great for UM but portal and early signing day make it far less damaging.

I don’t think that highly of Warde so I’d expect him to name Gattis instead of taking a swing at bigger names. Then again, nothing will surprise me with the crazy coaching landscape these days.

the MGOBLOG article by Seth was pretty close to this.  Laid out a lot of the issues.   I'm annoyed.  I'm not looking forward to chaos.  Lets get this over with.

Gattis is certainly the easiest choice.

So say the Lions had kept Patricia one more season and fired him just now. Would you have been interested in Harbaugh for the Lions? Surely Harbaugh would have been, he may not even have had to have moved house.

It would have generated a lot of buzz but I already like Campbell as a play caller more than Harbaugh....

I was interested in Harbaugh last year despite the 2-4 season. When you remove emotion from the equation and look purely at results, you can't deny he's one of the best there is.

the two point conversion in the CFP game that Michigan ran has me very excited for more.   That was mad magician stuff.

meh - you don't build sustained success on gimmick plays.

The Broyles award winner blended just fine.   The motion, using motion as decoy, using power to decoy to deception.  The best offense is one with lots of flexibility.  That plus 5stars at each position.

Michigan will have to be a very offense-oriented team next year because they are losing so many defensive players.

I think Josh Gattis gets the job and he could actually be a really good hire.    Might as well try to score 50 every week.

As far as Harbaugh,  maybe he wasn't happy about not getting the big extension last year and maybe he realized that getting to the college football playoff is as far any Big Ten team is really going to get so there's only going down from here.

Warde Manuel...............where is he?

Tough time to be hiring a new coach as - the hockey team is in trouble, the school just wrote a big check to Dr. Anderson's victims (and it's only the start there) and the school is dealing with it's President and another professor being involved in sex scandals.

It's a mess.

Doesn't matter anyway, by all reports we are all doing to die from snow the next 2 days.

It seems like a natural progression for Gattis to move up to Head Coach.  If not here, then somewhere

why is anderson's victims "just a start"?  they and their lawyers got $500 million.  that sounds like an awfully nice finish to me.

LOL - I don't even want to guess how many faculty-student/subordinate romances have gone on the rocks since 1974 or actually were abusive relationships,  and now that the U has established that they might pay you despite you having no hard legal claim because of SOL, every one of the those wounded lovers may be looking for a lawyer. There have already been some suits filed this week. That may be the only thing I have ever agreed with Nolan Findley about, ever.

they will be.  its all about the money, mcs.  it always is.

Then why is Jon Vaughn (and some others) still camping outside the Michigan President's house (I don't even know if anyone lives there presently).    Dude got Prostate Cancer.   He didn't have it checked for years because of Dr. Anderson.
