MLB page says make-up on the 8th. Are they going to play at 11:00 am?

I kinda figured that after looking at tomorrow's weather. They may struggle even getting one in tomorrow. I never like baseball in 45⁰ weather. Play a day game....

Where's your belief ?

Every team has to have a player. Even the White Sox. There will be some very deserving players kept off from every team. New York and Boston may have 3 or 4 players but Detroit? No, not so much.

This is just MLB's way to try to cool off the Tigers.   They made it rain in Denver.      Denver is stupid anyway.   What a dumb city.  Bunch of Mile-High Hippy Freaks.    Screw Denver.   And screw the Avalanche and the Nuggets and especially screw those stupid Broncos who got rid of the bronco snorting through the D logo on their helmet, which was one of the coolest helmets ever.    Yeah, screw them, man.

Tomorrow is looking better for Denver, rain should have moved out by game time - game time temp in the 50's dropping to upper 40's

Still, the schedule makers screwed the Tigers. Coming home after a 10 game trip? Shoulda had Thursday off. Now they gotta play 2 games. Ridiculous.

Triple header.  Get to call up 3 extra players.

Do it, MLB!

Now that games are only two and a half hours, that’s totally doable. After all, you work an eight-hour day every day, right?

If I were Hinch, and Jobe (or whoever...) goes reasonably long tomorrow,  I might go a little out of the box and bring up a position player 27th man for the DH - a right or left hand bat depending on how the Rockies starters line-up. Minimize how many guys actually have to play more than 9 innings.

Vierling up as the spare and then Jung down after the doubleheader?

I would think Greene might DH one of those games.   I don’t think he had a rest day going into this series.  But now with two days off, that aspect might not matter.  But that’s a lot of OF to cover for a guy that they’ve wanted to be mindful of.  That’s probably not the best place for Vierling to start his season at, but it would serve the greater good.

I wore a bulls hat not long ago and someone asked me if I was a Broncos fan. 😏

Vierling's injury was his arm, so I'd think he'd be good to go to play CF where the throws are mostly short. Javy is the guy that I would have doing double duty - CF in one and SS in the other, but he's played less than other starters. If you have the DH in each game play a position in the other, Javy would be the only guy that has to play two in the field.

I hadn’t thought of who would be pulling double duty in the field.  I’m fine with Baez doing the SS/CF thing.  I’m not worried as much about someone like Torkleson playing both games at 1B.

Thats going to be a lot of land for Malloy to cover, but he’ll have to handle one of those games.

It’s too bad they don’t make the first game a 1p start.  Sure it’s 11a local, but they do that in Boston for Patriots Day.

Well, Colorado SP for the early game is a LH pitcher, if that matters. Rest Carpenter (to start) and use Malloy? Use Ibanez at 3rd and sit Jung? Hinch has a lot of movable parts.

I don't know for sure but Vierling might need some extra time to get back into playing shape since he missed so much time. Longer than the average rehab assignment.

I assume as an IL player, Vierling can't be the 27th man.

I think the Tiger philosophy is you don't put a guy on any field rehab or otherwise, until he is ready to go 100%. So 'rehab' is really just for hitter's timing.

So if Vierling is ready, they activate him, option Jung then re-add Jace as the  27th.

If they don't want to add Vierling yet you bring Kreidler out for a game. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they have both a pitcher and a position player ready to fly, or even send both and then see how many pitchers they use Wed to decide which they make 27.

Since last season this team has played something like 70 games of 600 ball, you need to start taking every little extra step to win every game because you just might be playing for a 1st round bye.

With no off day until the next Thursday, they will have to call up a SP sometime and I’d be shocked if it’s not the “free man” on Thursday

The hippy freaks are the least obnoxious aspect of Denver metro culture:

Besides the above...the other part of Denver metro culture... is the dumb money.

I have a buddy who owns a bike shop in Boulder...that hippy dippy culture has faded as the tech bros moved in (I guess Google set up shop) but its still sort of there among the stupid money people who park their Porches across multiple parking lines because their daddy has a lawyer on retainer to fight parking tickets.

A good friend is one of those tech bros who moved to Boulder. But he has a Suburu.  Says it’s getting crazy expensive.

Subaru is the quintessential Boulder vehicle pre-tech arrival.   Just granola enough and just not-regular America enough.  The LGBGTQx4rti aspect doesn't hurt that image.
