I’m seeing Ryan Pepiot as the Rays’ starter and Sawyer Gipson-Long as the Tigers’ starter on the MLB app. We’ll know at game time I guess.

We get to test the theory that Vegas always knows something. 

Despite his 3 week slump and 0 for 9 in his career against Rays starter Ryan Pepiot, Carp has the best odds to hit a home run of anyone on either team today.  

Doesn’t make much sense but he will probably end up hitting one out.  Maybe even two.

Tampa, a day game...  I can see some seersucker-wearing old captain, dabbing himself with a linen handkerchief, perched on his rocking chair, occasionally fanning himself with his panama hat: "we shall betwixt these Yankee devils with some day baseball in the Florida sun!  They shall find our excessive heat and humidity, simply intolerable!"

Occasionally he will wonder at the behavior of his large blue-tick coonhound which has been searching for some critter under the porch of Steinbrenner field: "Rufus, you had best get yourself out of there or you'll miss out supper!"

I don't think it is based on anything evidence based like that, but rather how they think people will bet.  I am really not sure how they do it, but the goal is not accuracy, but making money.

It's so pointless to leave a guy out there who hasn't got it because you think you can squeeze another out or two out of him. He just ends up giving up runs and the next guy has to get those outs anyway.

Unless they pull this out this will be one for the few loses we can charge right to AJs account. Can't manage pitchers on hope.

Openers and pitching chaos make a manager look like a genius until the pitcher gets punched in the face.  Hinch is a great manager, but I think think they need to target pitching help as the deadline approaches.  They may need offense too, but I think they can make a more significant unpgrade with pitchers.

It's pretty much the same bullpen as last year as far as talent level goes, but relievers are volatile.  There was no way this was going to work forever.

OMG! After my morning walk, I was driving home and I listened to the Tigers top of the first and then started listening to John Mulaney and just now got home and we’re already down by four runs? This is déjà vu all over again.
