1776 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I’m seeing Ryan Pepiot as the Rays’ starter and Sawyer Gipson-Long as the Tigers’ starter on the MLB app. We’ll know at game time I guess. Happy Summer Solstice! Quote
Hongbit Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) We get to test the theory that Vegas always knows something. Despite his 3 week slump and 0 for 9 in his career against Rays starter Ryan Pepiot, Carp has the best odds to hit a home run of anyone on either team today. Doesn’t make much sense but he will probably end up hitting one out. Maybe even two. Edited 23 hours ago by Hongbit Quote

monkeytargets39 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Riley should have the best odds currently. the odds might be based on % of hits that are HRs though. Quote
romad1 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) Tampa, a day game... I can see some seersucker-wearing old captain, dabbing himself with a linen handkerchief, perched on his rocking chair, occasionally fanning himself with his panama hat: "we shall betwixt these Yankee devils with some day baseball in the Florida sun! They shall find our excessive heat and humidity, simply intolerable!" Occasionally he will wonder at the behavior of his large blue-tick coonhound which has been searching for some critter under the porch of Steinbrenner field: "Rufus, you had best get yourself out of there or you'll miss out supper!" I don't think it is based on anything evidence based like that, but rather how they think people will bet. I am really not sure how they do it, but the goal is not accuracy, but making money. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Strange stat of the day; The Tigers haven't won a Saturday game since April 26th. The best record in baseball and they haven't won in Saturday in almost 2 months Quote
gehringer_2 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago opener thing not working to well recently. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Keep using an opener. Sawyer may have given up a run. 😒😒 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) It's so pointless to leave a guy out there who hasn't got it because you think you can squeeze another out or two out of him. He just ends up giving up runs and the next guy has to get those outs anyway. Unless they pull this out this will be one for the few loses we can charge right to AJs account. Can't manage pitchers on hope. Edited 21 hours ago by gehringer_2 Quote
Tigerbomb13 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Can that be the end of this “pitching chaos”? Pitching has been a dumpster fire. Edited 21 hours ago by Tigerbomb13 Quote

Sports_Freak Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Just now, Toddwert said: the bullpen isnt good enough to do the opener And you know Hinch is going to be stubborn and show us how smart he is by keep doing it. Like I said, Sawyer may have given up a 1st inning run. You gotta protect these guys. /s Quote
Tiger337 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Openers and pitching chaos make a manager look like a genius until the pitcher gets punched in the face. Hinch is a great manager, but I think think they need to target pitching help as the deadline approaches. They may need offense too, but I think they can make a more significant unpgrade with pitchers. Edited 21 hours ago by Tiger337 2 Quote

lordstanley Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Third straight game the Tigers have fallen behind 4-0 by the 2nd inning. Quote
Tiger337 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago 3 minutes ago, Toddwert said: the bullpen isnt good enough to do the opener It's pretty much the same bullpen as last year as far as talent level goes, but relievers are volatile. There was no way this was going to work forever. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago OMG! After my morning walk, I was driving home and I listened to the Tigers top of the first and then started listening to John Mulaney and just now got home and we’re already down by four runs? This is déjà vu all over again. Quote
