Even if they have to play in 20-something-degree weather into May, they did a great job up there. Quote

Per this map, part of the RF stands are above a roadway. Quote
GalagaGuy Posted Saturday at 07:11 PM Posted Saturday at 07:11 PM As of now, the Tigers are 20 games over .500 They were also 20 games over .500 on June 10th. Quote

chasfh Posted Saturday at 07:35 PM Posted Saturday at 07:35 PM Tigers are 19-8 in one-run games, which is great, but lest anyone believes that it takes a great team to have a great one-run record, just remember that in 2003, the 43-119 Tigers were 19-18 in one-run games, while the 101-61 Braves were 17-25 in their one-run games. lordstanley Posted Saturday at 07:43 PM Posted Saturday at 07:43 PM (edited) I'm going to miss this game because I'm attending a CFL game for the first time in a decade. Montreal Alouettes at BC Lions. Won a free pair at a drawing at a bar during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Until I read the preview this morning, I knew the name of exactly two BC Lions (the QB and kicker) but I've expanded my knowledge to now know the name of the head coach, the team's best wide receiver, its league-leading running back and its Australian punter. By the way, BC Place has a capacity of around 55,000 and has been configured for baseball for several spring training games it hosted. Built in the mid-80s, extensively renovated around 5 years ago. Has a roof with the part that's over the field being able to open on nice days, but I wouldn't call it fully retractable. Will host half a dozen FIFA World Cup games next year. It simply isn't a MLB-calibre stadium. If it was, I think Vancouver would check enough boxes for a future MLB team. Edited Saturday at 07:45 PM by lordstanley Quote
IdahoBert Posted Saturday at 09:34 PM Posted Saturday at 09:34 PM I don’t think it’s raining right now in Minneapolis. How utterly novel. Quote
lordstanley Posted Saturday at 09:49 PM Posted Saturday at 09:49 PM Dan Dickerson was saying on last night’s broadcast that the Tigers could be poised to get the lead back up to double digits. Reason being that when average teams go on a surge like the Guardians have (21-9 in past 30) they expend a lot of energy doing so and tend to fall back to earth. Quote

Yeah and at least compared to the rest of the Tigers last year he looked like Barry Bonds. I just like it cause even though it's a play on his name it at least isn't completely lazy like using your initials like GT, a shortened version of your name like Tork or the worst the little league nickname of adding a y to the end of it like Greeney. RandyMarsh Posted Saturday at 10:47 PM Posted Saturday at 10:47 PM On a side note I remember several years back when Corey Seager was the hot prospect and talk of the town in LA and in turn national media his lesser renowned older brother Kyle used the name "Corey's brother" on his jersey for nickname weekend. That was pretty awesome. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Saturday at 11:00 PM Posted Saturday at 11:00 PM I guess I don’t get to watch this game. My local Fox affiliate is of course showing the Yankees Cardinals because those are two “real teams.“ And granted the Tigers versus the Twins does not showcase two “real teams“ but at least one and on FS1 they’ve got drag racing and on FS2 pickleball!
