RatkoVarda Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago well, that is a lot of money for Anderson Harris has got to know that the Boyd-Maeda-Cobb run does not need a Chapter 4 we have three years of Harris showing us who he is I believe him Quote

Melton is unproven. There are lot of eggs being carried in the Jobe and Olson baskets. Might work out, but that's not much depth given the rate of pitcher wastage. I do agree. My point was in response that the cupboard is completely barren after 2026. It's not. Quote
theroundsquare Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Edwin Diaz to the Dodgers. Not that he was coming here or anything but one name off the board Quote

I was responding to a post that no SP are under contract post 2026. The guys I mentioned are under team control, Olson, Jobe etc so it's not like Harris has to add 5-6 SP after 2026 Quote

The waiver wire isn't the place to patch together a bullpen that is serious about contending. Dodgers, Dodgers, Dodgers. Quote

I would argue free agency isn't a place to patch a bullpen, and that the 2025 Dodgers are Example A in that regard. Quote
oblong Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Are there any POBO's or GM's in today's game that did not go to college? It's not 1965 anymore. Quote

So you don't want Harris to add a pitcher like Diaz? Imho there are a handful of consistent relievers and Diaz is one of them. You have a much better chance of landing a consistent pen with Diaz than a pitcher from the KBO. Diaz is still a risk, but less so. Harris seems averse to risk. Quote
RatkoVarda Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago i don't think the Tigers have pitching to spare to send to Houston, but I still think Isaac Paredes would be a good fit on this team. they need to add, at a minimum, one RH bat, at SS, 3B or OF. Quote

SoCalTiger Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Did anyone watch Harris's interview on MLB network ? The optics seemed strange to me like he was really nervous and uncomfortable. The main interviewer even said "you did a good job" at the end. I came away a bit disappointed that he might indeed be a bit overwhelmed by it all. Did anyone else feel that way or did I get the wrong impression ? Quote

Yes still waiting for that unless....staying firmly committed to draft and development and not paying ANY large salaries is a gamble in itself. I'm thinking that's how he pitched himself to Illitch in the hiring phase and he is following through. Quote

Toddwert Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago we didnt realiize that the risk was waiver claims and washed up pitchers Quote

Agree but you have to shake your head at the Dodgers who can "blow" 50 million on a reliever one year and fix that with 69 million more the next. It's getting silly. Quote

Rodriguez and Flaherty had some previous success in the Majors before coming to the Tigers. Lorenzon had some moderate success as a reliever. Anderson failed with three different teams and couldn't even make the Tigers team as recently as 2024. It is certainly possible that Anderson has figured something out, but I am skeptical. Quote
RatkoVarda Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago and this team does not have 50 innings to just piss away on some rando journeyman who may or may not have figured something out at 32 Quote
