Here's an interesting table: each team's performances of their hitters and pitchers against ZIPs projections, available at FanGraphs, pro-rated to 36% of the season having been played so far.

Are the Phillies the Pirates and the Guardians just lucky when it comes to injuries, or are they doing something all the other teams should be doing?

easliest way to stay on the low end of position player injuries is have a young team. If someone has figured a way to manage pitchers at reduced injury rates it's the breakthrough for this century.

To put some individual #'s on this...

NO other team this year has more than 3 players with (position players only that is...) a negative WAR of 0.5 or more.

The Tigers have SEVEN!!!

Workman -0.5, Tork -0.6, Lee -0.6, Vierling -0.7, J Jones -0.8, Perez -0.8, McKinstry -0.9.

And for those stating (I believe saw this posted a few times in some game threads... I forget who was posting that...) that Wenceel is the worst player in baseball this year, wrong. He's not even the worst player on his home team (I'm certain the 3 HR's in the past few games helped with that...) BUT:

Take your pick:

Nick Castellanos, Padres, -1.0

Josh Lowe, Angels, -1.1

Matt Wallner, Twins, -1.4

Why is he still in?

Why was he brought in to begin with?

cmon AJ.  Act like you want your job.

He needs to be fired.   Sorry, the players suck, but much of this is on him too.   There you go - Pinch hit Jones.    My god, he just won't let a left handed hitter face a left handed pitcher, will he?    Platooning only works when the guy you are platooning with is actually decent.
