  2. You'd have to be "content" to not have one for a little as you rebuild. It would basically be admitting this rebuild has failed and they need another. It also seems like Danielson's back injury from the preseason has been lingering, he isn't even skating right now. Not great.
  3. I think it is extremely likely that they take the best player on their board, who they believe is the most talent, is a cultural fit with this team, and still fits a position of need. I think anyone of OT, G, DE/Edge, DT, LB, and S are options for them with their first round pick. I do tend to lean towards the idea that they will take an offensive lineman, either a OT or G. But I don't think it is a slam dunk. I think they will have a wide open board. With Larry Borom on the roster, I think they genuinely view him as a starting RT for this coming season.
  4. I think Larkin still has significant trade value but then who is your #1 center?
  5. I watched footage of Augustine's first game and thought he looked good. His movement and style really reminds me of Jon Quick. But good god, did Grand Rapids' defense look absolutely awful in front of him. Gustaffson especially looked like crap and I thought that Buium had a rough game not being able to keep up with his foot speed. Whatever is going on there probably has a lot to do with Cossa's current results but I was shocked to see how the team looked.
  6. Agree. On Danielson, I feel like I saw some speculation earlier in the season that there was interest in him but Yzerman wanted to keep him. When he got injured closer to the deadline it was not likely he was going anywhere.
  7. I think you could ride his Olympic popularity wave and trade him still. I'm starting to think it may be the move because he doesn't seem to be the captain/go-to guy to make a team break through plus at his age it seems like he won't be around if the Wings ever get good again. Plus I think his play style is going to age awfully since he is so reliant on speed. When he gets hurt and he can't move around well each season and then falls off a cliff it feels like a glimpse into his future to me. But I'm also still in the anger phase of the season so I'm fine with getting rid of anyone in the organization because it certainly can't get worse! I don't think Yzerman or McClellan could have done much different but at this point I don't care if anyone has any job security in the org because F it they collapsed so epically.
  8. I should clarify that I have two life goals. One to be able to go in long walks, or maybe still runs, to them take a nap. Then since I will probably still be living here to then go to the game in my robe and hype up the latest prospect and nobody bother me. Just me and my White Russian and rug.
  9. My moms SIL and BIL are golf nuts and enter the lottery every year. It must be one entry per person because they always use my mom and her husband to also enter. They still have not been to the event on Thur-Sun but did get practice day tickets a few years ago. They had a blast, and I'm pretty sure they went into the merchandise tent and bought one of everything.
  10. i think its more on the talent on the team than mcclleland. lots of fragile players in that locker room, it seems. it could also be that when other teams turned up the heat and started playing hard, the wings cant compete. they may also have been playing through injury. regardless, i think its more on the team than the coach.
  11. The question is whether he is a poor coach given that his team collapsed at the finish, or a good coach that had them playing way over their heads through a good part of the season until reality struck against other teams raising their games? Personally it always seems unlikely to me the personnel on this team should have been able to achieve and hold a divisional lead for as long as they did at all.
  12. I have heard from multiple people that the ANWA is the best spectator experience, for what it's worth. I forget the mechanics of the lottery, but do have my calendar set for June 1.
  13. The current Central standings are easy to remember.

  15. Thanks to @Tigeraholic1 for doing the game threads all year.
  16. When you have record turnout like that...you have to think its can't be good for Orban. If he tries to stay, he will be thrown out by the mob.

  18. That wouldn't be fascinating. It would be depressing.
  19. Borom can start at RT next season. He’s very capable of being at least league average at the position. I’m more concerned about Mahogany at LG. He had a few nice games 2 years ago. He was not good last year. He’s always going to be an injury concern too. I’m not sure I feel any better with Frazier or Bartch in that spot either. That’s why Ioane is intriguing. I’d have far less concerns fitting him in at RG next to Sewell at day 1 than I would a new rookie RT. That would create a very strong line with solid depth everywhere except RT which they can address later in the draft.
  20. Today
  21. Gainbridge Fieldhouse - Indianapolis, IN
  22. Has Melania ever spoken during the 5 plus years the idiot was president?
  23. I hope there's not violence during the transition and I hope that the US is not in the middle of it.
  24. if danielson and kasper arent 2 and 3 c next year with cossa in net and asp somewhere on the blue line, then the team is trouble OR theyve been traded for actual nhl talent.
