  1. Past hour
  2. Yesavage has been great, which somehow means we will put a Berting on him before our bullpen gives the lead up
  3. Alternate uniforms and Apple TV and a Bullpen day... a lot to complain about.
  4. talking about odd echoes in station branding I've wondered what they were thinking with the "MS-Now" rebrand that has nothing to do with MS. One possible angle is that for people that have their channel guides indexed alphabetically, keeping the "MS" does insure that people don't "lose" track of where to find them. IDK for how many people the alphabetically indexed guide is a thing, but it's about the only angle I've thought of where "MS-Now" offers anything.
  5. Our old friend Jimmy Howard's NCAA record finally (barely) broken
  6. Fantasy baseball was a lot more fun for me back around the steroid era….
  7. Melton has also been doing his rehab assignment. Hopefully we can get him back in the next couple weeks.
  8. There was a good article in The Athletic today that explains why their optimistic about Skubal's recovery. The new scope is smaller than what was the traditional scope, less stress on the muscles https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7274811/2026/05/13/tigers-tarik-skubal-elbow-surgery-explained/?source=user_shared_article&unlocked_article_code=1.ilA.uPLz._XuW6w8U-lvI I guess you can come close to comparing it to say knee replacement surgery today vs a few years ago. My wife had a knee replaced in early November 2024. They used robotic surgery. Had her up and walking within a an hour or so after the operation, climbed a set of stairs and sent her home. She still used a walker for 6 weeks, but could get around without much pain..
  9. Today
  10. Hope I'm wrong. But I'm feeling a blowout.
  11. deck chairs...Seabold activated; Vanasco optioned.
  12. I don't know either. If seems like when my fantasy baseball players comeback earlier than expected, they usually have a set back which keeps them out longer than originally expected!😀
  13. Skubal is allegedly already playing catch. I don’t know if that’s good news or not.
  14. Right. I hadn't known where the Goodwill part of the slogan came in, and now I do. It's interesting that they kept it well past when Goodwill sold off. Then again "good will" means something outside of radio that "group w" does not.
  15. Tork only seems to have the power to play first base for 1 out of every 6-7 weeks. At this point I just want players who have athleticism and have a competent offensive skill set and approach. I don’t really care what the position typically profiles as.
  16. That was the company that owned the station. From about 1929 to the mid ‘50s or so. The company also included WGAR in Cleveland and KMPC in Los Angeles. They just incorporated the company name in their slogans. For example KDKA, Pittsburgh, a Group W Station
  17. Maybe they can get the little Caesar's logo on the front.
  18. I think a lot of these players are playing at the level of their talent. Maybe they just playing above their skill level before.
  19. Max Anderson doesn't have the power to play 1st base. And the Tigers need Torkelson. If he doesn't improve, the Tigers aren't making the playoffs. So they might as well ride it out for the season and then decide what to do with him in the off season.
  20. Sorry, I'm not buying "that's just how it is", because it's actually not how it is. If it was, this wouldn't be the first time in league history. Compound that with the fact that the Pistons attack the paint and the Cavs shoot threes and it's even worse. Jarrett Allen. A Center. A guy who's boxing out Duren and fighting in the paint all game. He got his first foul in the 4th quarter. In the middle of the 2nd quarter the Cavs were whistled for their second foul of the entire game. Their second foul. The same thing happened in the last game when the Cavs where whistled for their first foul at the end of the 1st quarter. Meanwhile, they're grabbing and holding just as much as the Pistons on every screen and every drive. Sorry, that's not legitimate. Let's be real here. The Pistons are playing with one hand tied behind their backs. Could they have won anyway. Yup. Should they have to be 15 pts better than their opponent to win a game? No. Not in a real league that isn't bowing to the almighty the gambling dollar.
  21. That's great. My wife used to work out at a place on Mack near you. Run by a very good person. Detroit Body Garage. She only left due to some scheduling issues.
  22. Jim Crow is being revived before our very eyes and barely being commented on by the media. But at least the activists are covering it.
