  2. Guessing Rainer promotion was just to open a spot for Yost (not due to merit).
  3. Cook will become Chairman of the Board.
  4. Excellent!
  5. hopefully. i think we've all placed too much faith in the wings' prospects. me included. so i'm taking a wait and see approach.
  6. I think running James and Mazur on the bottom six would probably be an improvement 5 on 5 over the current mix and necessitate smaller improvements in the top 6
  7. It's always good to warn fugitives when you are going to arrest them. Unless they don't know they are guilty and you're fabricating the evidence against them.
  8. we voted YES on Saturday.
  9. Apparently, Gill did not get the memo that the current term of art is "mentally retarded."
  10. I'm guessing "soon" means two weeks.
  11. Drew Anderson. He was lights out in Korea last year.
  12. So we move Flaherty to the pen and he's replaced in the rotation by ... whom, again?
  13. hmm. 40% K rate at Lakeland. SSS for sure. Maybe they thought no one was throwing him strikes? i'm just glad he is healthy enough to promote

  16. I actually think the biggest issue was that the Magic beat the Pistons at their own game, they were tougher and dominated the paint. I think we all knew that the Pistons half court offense would be a chore but if they had simply played their game, not whatever that abomination was last night, they probably win this game. That's the most disappointing part to me, that the Pistons weren't ready for the fight. If the Pistons don't excel at what they're good at and impose their will with their style of play, they have no chance to beat anybody in a playoff series and certainly not a team as talented as Orlando that is finally healthy. They just don't have the horses to win any other way.

  18. Anecdotes are like noses.
  19. Injured pitchers do not have time tables. They are back when they are back.
  20. Do we have an estimated time table on Melton?
  21. I think a lot of your stance here is sensible contrariness...worse still there is this. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2026/04/20/election-security-midterms-voting-00872694?utm_content=topic/world&utm_source=flipboard I still think this Fall looks to be a blowout for the party that took the country to war and whose president has decided to fight a war against its own base. The real key though is all the retirements by the incumbent party. That is a known trend identifier in politics. The other key is fundraising by individual candidates. The Dems have that action in spades. Now couple the above threat to destroy the integrity of the vote with an almost unlimited ability to fund via dark money...you might have some chaos. ONE other thing that might cause chaos. The Virginia Gov deciding to make major gun rights changes before the April 21 (tomorrow) redistricting vote. The loony gun strokes might come out to vent their displeasure. I think the current money is on a 8-10 point win for the redistricting vote but the smoke from the gun crowd might be a cause for concern.
  22. I can do a 35s 200m, barely. I would have to be full out to even approach a 70s 400m and likely would fail. No way I can do a 2:20 800m. So if I sprinted I might have a chance of keeping up with the leaders for the first 1 minute out of a 121 minute race, lol.
  23. game opened at detroit -12.5. quickly down to detroit - 9.5.
  24. We need to vote all of these clowns out;
  25. From scouting and analyst reports I've read, McCoy seems like he would be the best CB in the draft were it not for his injury. I've read he has elite-level ball and tracking skills and it seems the dude creates turnovers and interceptions, which we need more of on defense. He has the speed (4.40 40 time), size, and athleticism to keep up with most any WR. He won't get out matched or mowed over in man coverage either, which the Lions like to play. The one knock I read on him was from Draft Buzz who said "Run support engagement runs hot and cold, takes conservative angles at times." We know that the ability to play the run and willingness to engage is one of the more important traits this coaching staff is looking for. I don't think he's bad against the run though or unwilling to come up and make a tackle.
  26. Let's play some trivia: Who are the Pistons top 5 defenders and disrupters? Easy answer: Ausar, Stew, Green, Holland, Reed. Which players played less minutes than usual? Yup, same list. Even in limited minutes that group had 7 of Detroit's 9 steals. Which players played more minutes than usual? Duren. Tobias, and Jenkins - all of whom were not playing well and should have lost minutes. The answer to the Magic making it difficult to score in the half court isn't to try to masquerade as a offensive team. We don't have the roster to be anything but a lottery level offensive team no matter who we put in there. And now the issue is worse because Orlando is scoring every time (as they did in the 4th quarter) and we have to go against their set defense every time. Complete backfire. You can't score in the half-court but you put in a lineup that makes you play in the half-court over and over again. The real answer is a defense that can get stops, steals, and rebounds and allow you to score against Orlando when they aren't set in their half court defense. This isn't new data. It's been this way for 2 years. The team is better on both offense and defense when Ausar is in the game. It's a fact. If the Pistons are going to come back in this series they have to address JB's lineups.
