And structurally, it makes sense. Virginia is one of the first elections after a President takes office or wins reelection - often a time when national environment for a sitting President isn't always the best. I think MB is right about Virginia's lean, but the fundamentals nationally do point to a close race here. And one that Youngkin can win.1 point

Not when it comes to the gubernatorial race. If you check past history most races fell within a five point or less margin1 point

I've been using a timeline like this since the late '60's, early '70's. It still hasn't worked out. But yeah, this time it will....lol1 point

You watched the trailer and discerned all that from it? Because I watched the trailer and thought it was about monsters that live in the woods and started going after people. The Village is a textbook bait and switch. It was advertised one way and you go into the movie expecting to see a horror flick and it delivers on it somewhat, until the end when it is all like "just kidding, this isn't actually a horror film." The trailer and the movie are not one in the same. One is false advertising and one is reality. I watched Robert Eggers A24 film The Witch, a Puritan folklore movie about a witch that lives in the woods. The movie was advertised as a horror movie. Guess what we saw in the movie, a ton of creepy scenes and a witch, actually several witches. We didn't watch a 1:20:00 movie about witches only to have the last 10 minutes be about something else entirely. And you know what, I was highly satisfied with The Witch and have watched it a half dozen times since. The Village to me would be like going to see The Witch and there isn't actually one single scene where the Witch actually appears in the movie and in the end, The Witch had nothing to do with the plot line. The Village was built up for months with trailer after trailer making it seem like it was an English folklore type horror movie about mysterious evil creatures or monsters that live in the woods and go after people. Except the movie was about none of that. Instead, the entire point of the movie was to create a big ruse at the end and swerve the audience. Um ok, you swerved us, but that doesn't mean the swerve was clever or good. I thought it was neither.1 point

It's because they only won 77 games. Deserved or not, nobody is going to win an award with a below .500 record.1 point

I have a personal grievance against Youngkin for being Carlysle Group. They ruined a previous employer while I was in the management and I spoke out about them and got fired. Lesson learned.1 point

I think the GOP can't reproduce Virginia anywhere where the primary system is open.1 point

You'll be receiving your first paycheck in the mail from George Soros, and a member of Antifa will be along shortly for your rioting and pillaging orientation. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the provided critical race theory e-course instructed by AOC.1 point

Just voted in Virginia. Romad has voted a straight D ticket on successive elections now. Bizonkers. I'm not the crazy one though.1 point

Look at that receiving corps, and your best two experienced O-Lineman are both out and Goff is your QB. How can anyone be measured with that? This isn't on Lynn. It's on Quinn.1 point

My first thought is that Florida has a much higher population of people over the age of 65 than Michigan. This demographic are in a higher risk category of dying and thus more likely to want the shot without being fazed by conservative political dog whistles.1 point

I think you both are right. They want high salaries to confirm their greatness and to also raise the floor for the guys that come after.1 point

I don't disagree. They are good at pretending to be interested in their constituents, but they are primarily interested in themselves. Another thing they are good at is taking credit for good things that happen (that have little or nothing to do with them) while blaming others for bad things that happen. Your best hope is that their self interests will help you in some indirect way.1 point

I don't think they will be forced into any change. Everybody knows this is the fault of Quinn. We all knew this would be a long season.1 point

I'm just waiting for them to win a couple games and then the inevitable hand wringing about winning meaningless games cost them x draft pick.1 point

One play after the strip sack, Michigan got the ball back and went down and kicked a FG with no time left for State to do anything, so +3 to Michigan. If the TD had stood, Michigan State would have had had a minute and a half to at least get a FG, for a net of +4 to Michigan. I rewatched the 1-hour condensed version on BTN yesterday and it reminded me of how many close moments there were late in the 3rd and early in the 4th that if they hadn't gone MSU's way Michigan still would have been in control. After the TD made it 30-20, could have stopped the 2 point conversion - did not. After MSU got the ball back down 8, Michigan could have stopped them on a 3rd and 10 from around the 20 - did not, by inches. On the next set of downs, could have stopped them on what I think was around a 3rd and 5 from around the 30 - did not, again by inches. So many things had to have gone wrong for Michigan not to have won after being up 16.1 point

They can't just write him a check. It's against NFL rules. The honorable thing to do would be for Calvin Johnson to accept the fact he didn't hold up his end of the agreement and is not entitled to money he didn't earn.1 point
-
Why the hell should the Lions give him back more than what they took back? Johnson has literally said to fix it they need to give him his money. They can't. They offered to give him his money if he made appearances. It's not like they are asking him to suit up and play again like he originally agreed to do. What's best is if Calvin Johnson just went away.1 point

Specifically... If you call a TO on 3rd down, you can run TWO plays out of the TO... IE: If we don't make a 1st and it's 4th and short "run this play", and if 4th and long "run this play". If we make a 1st then "run this play". After the 3rd down, THEN you might be able to catch the D off-guard by running up to the line without a huddle and firing off a quick play...1 point
