It wasn't the democratic party. It was the state elections canvassing board. They certify ballot signatures. Craig and the others submitted fraudulent signatures and didn't have enough valid signatures. Therefore their nominations weren't valid. This is another attempt to "both sides" something with zero evidence. Nobody "went after" Craig.3 points

I think criticizing that deal is just hindsight. Schoop was more than worth it if he even approached his norms.2 points

on the show's podcast today Odenkirk emphasized how in BB you had an explosive ending. Nazis, machine guns, etc. On BCS the ending was people talking and just standing there looking at each other. The suffering was internal. That is in line with the overall comparisons to the show and he complimented the writers for trusting the actors and the audience to understand that.2 points

The salary cap isn't something that really concerns me to a very large degree when it comes to making moves. It's on the radar, but not very close to the center of my thought process. Maybe I'm naïve and it should concern me more (no one confused me for being an NFL GM), but it never seems to bother big spending teams. Every offseason you seem to hear about the Packers, Saints, and Rams being in some form of salary cap hell.... and then they go out and sign big name players and are immediately back in contention. To be clear, I'm not advocating going the Jaguars route and spending money for the sake of spending money. I don't think the Lions should be 'at' the cap year-in and year-out just for the sake of being there. But if you feel that Roquan, or whoever, puts you in a position where you a legitimate contender - for the NFC North title and beyond - both now and into the future.... I wouldn't allow concern for the salary cap stop you from making that move.1 point

I'm satisfied. Part of me was disappointed when he came clean, because as the con that led to an offer of seven years was being played out, I wanted to see a 2022 scene shot in color to finish. Where we see a new alias for Jimmy/Saul/Viktor/Gene be born. Leaving the door open in a sense, to Jimmy being out there in some way. At the same time, upon further reflection, I think this finale offers better closure to the universe. No one wins, and no one should win. I also don't think I would want to see AMC try to re-boot the series in ten years without Gilligan or Gould the way they did Dexter without James Manos Jr.1 point

The irony of all these MAGA whackjobs going nuts about the FBI is that the FBI announcement of the investigation about Hillary’s emails in Oct. 2016 likely tilted the election to their orange idol.1 point

Walt would’ve strangled Marion in her own kitchen instead of getting caught. As would Mike, Gus, Lalo, and most of the other criminals on the shows. Saul/Jimmy was a con man instead of a drug lord. He wasn’t wired the same as those other guys.1 point

With how he has played this year, there's a less than 0% chance that Schoop is giving up $7 mil to test the market. With the holes they have and with the market as it is, it's hard to see them with any other option than biting the bullet and rolling with him at second.1 point

right. The problem is that they are preaching to the converted. Their ads effectively make Dem talking points, but if those actually connected with the MAGA we wouldn't be where we are. Yesterday I heard a just a bit of an NPR segment done from Wyoming. This guy is in tears because after knowing the Cheney family for 3 generations, he is going to vote against Liz. It just made no sense, the guy wanted with every fiber of his being to vote for her, but the challenge to the self-identity he was attached to was so great it literally had him choked up to where he could hardly speak, but even that emotional impact wasn't enough to separate him from his cult.1 point

I see the LP as an echo chamber. And a grift opportunity for the owners. It's nice but not really effective. Just a circle jerk among like minded people that does nothing to move the needle.1 point

Amiel Sawdaye from the D-backs Dana Brown from the Braves Matt Arnold from Brewers Josh Byrnes from Dodgers Jeff Kingston from Dodgers Alex Slater from Dodgers Pete Putila from Astros Sid Mejdal from the Orioles (by way of NASA!) Randy Flores from the Cards McLeod interviewed 4 times for GM jobs. Based on nothing but their current roles I'd say it could go to Sawdaye, McLeod, Byrnes or Slater. I won't pretend to know any of them from Adam.1 point

I really think the one more Walt scene will be Walt & Saul in the Vacuum Cleaner Guy's basement, that night. It'll be dark. Darker scene kind of hides some of the aging from the original scene. I can just imagine that leads to Gene calling Ed only to have someone answer the phone saying Ed just died.1 point

Yup. Still waiting for the Secret Service dudes to go under oath to refute Hutchison's testimony. I was told they were prepared. Remember all the breathless media coverage that was spread to undo the impact of her testimony based on the fact that "they were prepared to go under oath"? Was of course all BS to soften the blow of her testimony, and of course the MSM ate it hook line and sinker. I've also noticed the past week, instead of being laser focused on the crimes DT likely commited, a lot of the media narrative is how "Republican lawmakers demand the DOJ explain the raid". Who the F cares what Republican lawmaker demand? Why is that even a concern worth mentioning, never mind a headline on CNN?1 point

Lots of disappointment. The last 3 weekends I have gone to Huron Valley's Human Society (because almost all the others are only open while I am working). I saw a dog the last two weekends that I liked but she had an Adoption Pending on her cage. Then I went today and none of the dogs seemed to be a fit. When I was leaving I went to ask them at the counter about a dog and that same girl was hanging out with them. The Adoption fell through, so I put a hold on her. She is waiting for medical clearance and her name is Lucy. She was found as a stray but obviously belonged to someone because she is house trained and very VERY good with people. She is a "Florida Cur". This is not her, but she looks a lot like this. Wish me luck, she might be the one.1 point

I think the new GM will build out a biomechanics department since the Tigers are very light there. I'd suspect that Chadd and Pleis could be fired and additional scouting and player development support will be added to the international operation. Maybe they won't fire anyone in the analytics department, but I could see more of an emphasis on adding people with pure quant backgrounds and around machine learning. They are kind of light there, as well. The Tigers just overhauled their player development system in the minors so they might let that play out more before making drastic moves. But, overall, yeah probably more tweaks than anything. The biomechanics department is the most obvious overhaul and 1 or 2 of the top scouts are scapegoat candidates. Chadd has been here so long, he seems like an obvious one. I'd expect Hinch to fire Coolbaugh and Hessman and maybe they'll hire hitting coaches who were/are affiliated with Driveline to be with them now at the MLB level.1 point

I have the fenced in yard. The issue is that, 75% of the dogs are pitties and, I know its unfair, but I don't want the hassle of other people being afraid of my dog. I would love to get another japanese spitz, an aussie, a lab or another border collie. My issue is that when I see dogs online they've already been adopted or with private adoptions the owners never seem to return calls, texts or emails.1 point

Hard to tell. They have talent on defense but not enough proven talent to be confident in any unit long term. On paper, the defensive line is the strength but it's dependent on a lot of rookies and 2nd year guys as well as Okwara's health and Harris not being a fluke (the potential is exciting though), same with linebacker and the secondary which is almost exclusively young guys. I'm more confident in the offense going forward even with Goff but there's some health questions to answer at receiver and with Hockenson. Long story short, if we're looking "on paper" at all the units, I'd say that QB and linebacker are the biggest questions over the long term. What I really love about what Holmes is building is that he's putting a specific focus on the trenches, where lots of games are decided, that's where the Lions strength is building with the lines and I don't remember the last time I could say that a Lions team had potential to have a top 10 offensive AND defensive line going forward. Not to mention, the high end talent at the skilled positions. Ultimately though, it comes down to Goff. He's being set up to succeed with what Holmes has added the last two offseasons so it's make or break time for him this upcoming season.1 point
