no offense but that's a very dumb equivocation. I don't think you know what the word trafficking means.2 points

I can't lose any sleep over this. Happy for the guy, but doesn't seem like his success will be sustainable long term. At the time, we probably thought we would get Meadows back, and Baddoo had been hitting well in Toledo. Sure it's hindsight now, but at the time, I wanted Baddoo to get the AB's. If there is a silver lining, Thompson might have been able to help us win a couple of more games that would only hurt our draft lottery odds for next year.1 point

Unless you have little or no 401k and live at or just above a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle. Those needing every paycheck to get by are impacted by the CPI numbers at the grocery store because all the everyday items and foods they buy are still horribly expensive compared to a year ago. Many living a near paycheck to paycheck lifestyle probably have little invested in the market and maybe only a small 401k through their employer, that they aren't likely following super closely. I can't help but think there are going to be political repercussions for the party in power, the Democrats, for that.1 point

Do not insure your Amazon purchase with an Asurion extended warranty. Yeah, i know, you already knew that. So did I. I thought this was a special circumstance that warranted it. I had previously bought a (much too expensive) docking hub for my laptop setup that started to fail in less than a year, and I was out well over a hundred bucks. So I bought a new hub from a different company for cheaper, and which I extended through Asurion with a three-year extended warranty for eight bucks. Within six weeks (beyond the return policy limit), the sound input on the hub failed. When I plug my speakers into the hub, the sound is supposed to come through the speakers. It no longer does. I contacted the company, Mokin, twice asking for technical support or a replacement, and got no reply. They are a Chinese company, which may or may not have something to do with their lack of responsiveness. So I contacted Asurion. First of all, it's likely you won't be able to handle the issue online by yourself because, as in my case, you may not even see your product listed. Luckily they have a chat app so I was able to successfully process the issue through that. But here's the deal with that: First of all, you don't get a replacement product through Asurion. You get an gift card and you get it for the amount of the product only, not any taxes or shipping you might have paid. So that part of the money is gone. Secondly, unlike Amazon itself, which might send you a replacement product before you have to send the defective product in, Asurion will send the gift card only once they have received your product. So you need to trust this company hardly anyone has ever heard of to follow through on that part of the deal. But lastly, and the best part, is that once you process this transaction, your contract with Asurion is completed. You do not get to apply it to any replacement product you receive. So I spent eight bucks on an extended warranty that terminated within six weeks because I had the temerity to leverage the warranty once. Stay away from Asurion.1 point

There's no other way to put it: early merging culture is fascist, practically by definition, because it encourages people to take what's not even a law, but is merely a more, into their own hands and enforce it against other drivers simply because they don't like them doing what the actual law allows them to do.1 point

Chicago did it to help the migrants because they are people. DeSantis did it because he's an asshole. He had no goal of helping the migrants. He was using them as pawns. They could have died for all he cared. Yes I believe that 100%1 point

Since the big club has no chance of making it to the playoffs it is fun to watch Erie go for it. They won last night 5-3 in 11 innings. Meadows went 3/4 with a 2B, 2 RBI, BB and K while it looks like they used Alvarado as an opener with Hurter following with 4.2 IP and 6K. Serretti went 1/3 with a BB and K and Workman with a 1/5 4K night. The night though belonged to Josh Crouch who hit his first AA homerun in the top of the 11th with one on to put the Wolves up 5-2. In the 48 AB this September Meadows is hitting an unsustainable .396/.453/.563 good for a 1.016 OPS. Good to see him show up during this playoff run and to build on his August performance.1 point

I’d like to see the net of Tiger home runs lost vs opponent home runs lost due to Comerica’s dimensions. Overlay league average dimensions onto the current field, plot the fly outs, and let’s see what the damage is. Can you get that taken care of by tomorrow?1 point

I can’t wrap my head around the idea people think it’s a good idea to put twice as many cars in one lane when two are open. the people who get over right away are the ones who cause the traffic backup. The lane is not closed until it’s closed which is indicated by a barrier blocking the road.1 point

pretty much what I was thinking. if the Tigers can pay part of Verlander's salary after trading him, they can afford $7.5M to make room for Kreidler or whoever.1 point

but that is exactly what zipper merging does away with. That person trying to jump everyone has no way to do that if both lanes run full right to the merge. I think that is one of the main reasons authorities recommend its use.1 point

When COVID hit, I was selfishly very interested in seeing what the housing market did. I thought there could be a 2008-ish crash. Nope, total opposite and my dreams of being a first time buyer we’re dashed. Oops.0 points
