  1. Is it too late to share my little girl Lacey? I lost both of my previous cats in the heart of the pandemic, and it took two months to find an available cat, but here she is:

  2. Hello, everyone. Haven't been around for a while, and only just learned that the other site crashed! I was known there as Lousluggage, decided it's a good time for a change. Also I accidentally locked myself out of my FB account, thanks to forgetting to update my phone number. That might be for the best, of course.;)

  4. Its not wrong to study the holocaust. Mein Kampf is definitely a roadmap to what he planned. i think there is an element who read this and Turner Diaries and see it like so many screwed up people watch Fight Club and start to root for Tyler Durden and don't see how insane that worldview is.

  5. That's what I've never understood. Businesses are smart to not advertise if they think the association will hurt their sales. Also it seems like some people think free speech means nobody has the right to challenge them.

  6. I dont know how easy it is to rely solely on buying up local ad spots during a World Series game. I've watched enough of them to know there aren't many of them between Innings 1-9, and given this is Pennsylvania (ie. Ground Zero for the Midterms), scarcity is probably an issue. Buying nationally costs more, but puts your spot in the middle of a game when people are watching. Also probably allows him to hit every market in the state versus buying local ad time in individual markets. He's not hurting for campaign cash, good move imo

  7. -I didn’t compare Golden State’s offense to Casey’s offense. Nor am I oblivious to the difference in talent and personnel in general of the two teams, let alone Curry’s ability as the best shooter in NBA history. I was just providing an example of two non spacing, non jumpshooting bigs in a starting line-up. You want another, look no further than the Pistons opponent tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers with two non jump shooting big men, Mobley and Allen. And their offense is humming along just fine with them using Mobley as a part time facilitator and Allen almost exclusively a screen setter and finisher/offensive rebounder. -there are teams that still use big men in the midpost or high post to create spacing different than just four out or five out. Teams like Phoenix and Denver, good offensive teams, still sometimes utilize versions of a horns set with double high post bigs and create action off of that. Now obviously, when your bigs can also shoot, it makes it even more dangerous, but there are ways to play offense using the midpost and high post where the bigs don’t have to be three point threats. -playing two non shooting centers can work (let’s watch how the Cavs run their offense tonight) if you don’t just play isolation basketball one-on-one, drive and kick, which like 80% of the league now often reverts to for a big chunk of their halfcourt sets, thanks in large part to the likes of Darryl Morey and the James Harden Rockets. Two non shooting centers can work if you install an offense where players do more than just stand and watch and wait for the kick out three. -Stew is the better defender, but he and Bagley are comparable rebounders. Statistics are important, but context is also important. Stewart has often been the only interior rebounder for the Pistons, playing next to a couple small forwards in the frontcourt. He’s often the only one banging down low against opposing bigs. Bagley had played mostly PF in Sacramento playing alongside true centers like Willie Caulie Stein and Holmes. Context matters. I’m not suggesting he’s a better rebounder than Stewart. But I believe they’re comparable, regardless what the statistics say in and of themselves only without context. And Bagley is a more explosive jumper and a better, quicker second jumper. Stewart uses strength and position, which doesn’t always help against much taller guys who can jump higher. Bagley can jump with some of those types. -and I wasn’t arguing Bagley over Stewart anyway. I specifically talked about Bagley replacing Saddiq Bey. I don’t hate a Stewart and Duren duo, I just prefer to see what Bagley and Duren would do as a frontcourt tandem more. And here’s why. Stewart is not a scoring threat, not from three even when he shoots it, not down low in the post, not as an iso player or a pick and roll finisher, not a high percentage one anyway. Your initial argument for spacing doesn’t make sense with Stewart either, because even as he’s been willing to shoot the three, defenses do not respect it. And he’s not efficient enough for them to. Even if he makes 1 or 2 of them in a game, teams will still play off, still shade towards guys like Cade, Bogey, Bey, still double and leave Stewart open. Him shooting threes doesn’t actually create any better spacing, which was the basis of your argument. With Bagley, at least he’s a scoring threat in the post. He’s a capable scorer down low that demands the other team play defense on him. And while it’s not all the way out to the three point line, they aren’t simply going to leave him wide open. Bagley in the post may even create better spacing than Stewart at the three point line. injust really disagree with the notion that Stewart provides better spacing than Bagley would. Teams don’t even defend Stewart.

  9. I never found flat earthers to be charming dumb. I think they're dangerous because they show how easy it is to con people into believing stupid shit..........and the stupid shit is turning more dangerous. I am kind of thinking the person that really got the flat earth thing started did it as an experiment to see how many people they could con and it snowballed.

  10. We firmly believe paying people well, providing good benefits, and respecting them makes us more money long term. We could slash pay/benefits today and probably make a fortune for the next few months. But what happens six months from now when all of our top talent is gone? The customer experience starts to suffer and we see a decline in business. We have to now cut prices to bring people back or even just retain their business. So now we are probably making the same profit margin on less revenue. Even if we are 100% wrong and we are missing out on some money, who cares. Me and my partner both have more than we will ever need. If a few bucks are slipping out of our pockets and helping other people, who gives a fuck.

  11. There is a perfect solution for the many the appreciate the mastery of Dylan’s songwriting and composition but can’t get over the vocal. Grateful Dead There are at least 30 Dylan covers that became a regular part of the live setlist for either GD or Jerry Band. Jerry and Bob’s voices work so well with these songs like Tangled Up in Blue, When I Paint My Masterpiece, Queen Jane Approximately, Memphis Blues Again, and It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue.

  12. Pretty sure that ran nationally. My buddy in Boston pinged me to ask whether we’d seen it as well. They apparently have a bunch of money left to spend, plus it might possibly help Democrats in local races. The thinking might be, If they can on a national basis saddle Oz with being the goof that’s representative of the Republican Party, that might be worth a few votes on the margins for Democrats in other states.

  13. We can all agree that between the Phillie Phanatic and Gritty, Philadelphia is by far the best pro sports mascot town in the world, yes? Because if you disagree, you are just flat wrong here and in all possible alternative universes.

  16. Was just thinking earlier while flipping between the WS and Thursday Night Football on Amazon "Could you imagine being a Philly sports fan right now, got your baseball team playing in the World Series and an undefeated football team on prime time?" Then it occurred to me that believe it or not Detroit was in a similar spot in 2011 with the Tigers playing in the ALCS while the 5-0 Lions were playing on MNF across the street at Ford Field. Crazy to think that now, might as well have been another lifetime ago considering the state of Detroit teams.

  17. Sure seems that way. I don't know anything about college baseball or scouting, but the way they described him on draft day was uninspiring. It reminded me of my all time favourite first round pick, righthander Cade Gaspar. The first 2 words in his draft summary were "Not overpowering", and I just said to myself, well Jesus H Christ.

  18. JV needed this game for his legacy. If he got shelled again everybody would remember that about him. Not that it would affect his Hall of Fame credentials even one iota, but nobody wants that hung on his legacy.
