  1. “Why didn’t you call 9-1-1?” “Why didn’t you report it?” “Why didn’t you scream?” Those questions …. I hope that somewhere during that civil trial the statistics of what percentage of women who are sexually assaulted report it is presented. Everyone handles it differently, because…… well, … because. Some fight. Some don’t. Some can’t. Some won’t. Some relive it every day. Some tuck it away and deny it to themselves. Sometimes it takes another very mundane thing happening to have it come roaring back. Sometimes you heal. Sometimes, you’re destroyed.

  6. How is that idiotic? Witherspoon is the most likely pick at 6 (just about everybody is mocking him to the Lions now) and Torrence seems reasonable if they trade down.

  13. The problem is that people *thought* they knew a lot about Trump from watching in "Reality" TV, but of course reality TV is thoroughly scripted, massaged and air-brushed, so Trump got the double benefit of being able present himself just as 'falsely' as any actor playing a role, as all the while the hollywood appartus of the 'Apprentice' - as do all 'reality' shows - continually promulgated a fantasy about its reality.

  14. I don't even think Swift gets that much. Not much value in a RB in the last year of his contract who can't put together a full season.

  19. I may be the only one who thinks James Mitchell should be given the opportunity to be TE1. It seems like there are a lot of people wanting the Lions to draft a TE.

  21. As we sit here on draft day, my thoughts are starting to change. I don’t like any of the these QBs and I also think they need a player that can help someway this year. FWIW, I think 1 of the 4 will be good and the other 3 will suck. I have no clue who that will be though. This is a very deep CB draft and I like the guys at the top but I’ don’t see much difference between Gonzalez and Witherspoon and a Cam Davis, Joey Porter, or even a guy like Forbes. We are going to get a good CB early in this draft but don’t think it needs to happen at 6. This is such a random draft with limited playmakers and the Lions have a boatload of picks including another first. It really creates the ideal situation to take a risk. The best player in the draft who also plays at their biggest position of need is Jalen Carter. He’s should be the pick if he’s on the board at 6. Take the shot knowing there’s great risk. If he’s not there , they should try to trade with Tennessee at 11 for extra picks and they can probably draft whatever CB that may have thought at 6. They also could go Wilson too. I have some concerns if he’s got an ongoing foot injury and I’d hate to have a Levi part 2. Still would be willing to roll the dice with him too based on this draft situation. Im having a bit of a struggle with the realization that after months of debate I’ve come around to the same point of view as Buddha.

  23. That's true, it's pretty much a given they will go to break right before the Lions pick only for them to return seconds before the announcement. Also you're pretty much guaranteed that they will spend 5 minutes after you pick interviewing a previous selection so they never get to break down your selection.

  24. The last couple years ESPN has been good about not spoiling the picks by showing the players smiling on their phones talking to the team picking them, I hope that is the case again this year. Which also reminds me to stay off twitter atleast around the Lions pick cause I just love the suspense of finding out who they are picking right when Goodell makes the announcement.

  27. I think all you can do is notice whether they are checking off the boxes they need to get to where they need to be. Tork struggled to barrel up hittable pitches for most of last season. He has overcome that in spades so far this year. You can't look at that kind of progress and be depressed about it. Yes, he can probably use a little adjustment to his swing plane - but you don't mess with a guy too much just as his bat to ball skill is starting to come around. Let it marinate for awhile and see if the adjustment doesn't just come by itself as his success and comfort level achieving contact grow. To me Greene is a little more complex. His heat maps show a strong bias to low pitches. To my naked eye that matches the fact that his swing plane is deeply inclined i.e - like a golf swing. Since he's swinging up, he can't get the bat into the hitting zone at the top of the zone very well, and MLB is getting to be a high pitch/strike league. He has plenty of reaction speed and bat speed and reasonable pitch recognition, but I think he will eventually have to alter his swing and/or setup to improve his plate coverage up and away.

  28. That was really well put-together. Have to tip my hat to the media guys and gals. I teared up a bit hearing John Cominsky's story. I give him a lot of kudos to him for being honest and open about the difficult dichotomy between being a warrior on the field four days a week and going home and being soft and caring to his wife and baby. Was also really cool to see the story about the scout behind the scenes and hear his story. Not sure it was the intent but I really want that sweatshirt Holmes had on and a long-sleeve of the shirt Cominsky had on.

  34. It's much easier to develop a good run game than to find a QB who can succeed without a good run game or offensive line. Makes me think their better off taking Bijan Robinson than playing the lottery with one of these QBs.

  35. I think McVay is a good offensive mind, but I think Campbell is a better coach. When Goff was struggling, Campbell took control and took him under his wing and coached him up and it paid off with a Pro Bowl season. McVay played games and benched him in favor of John Wolford.
