  1. Eddys Leonard 2-3 with a HR and a walk tonight. Now sporting a tidy .964 OPS in Toledo since we acquired him.

  3. Heavy on launch rates, exit velocity, OPS+ and wOBA. Or Corsi if he is tutoring hockey-playing kids from Windsor.

  4. I wanted him back because I expected him to bounce back and be able to help the team at a position of need The possibility of flipping him at the deadline was secondary.

  5. Without going back and looking at my own posts, I don't think I was too bothered one way or the other. Keep him, sure, let him go, fine. Harris didn't think he was worth $7 million though, and obviously Hinch didn't either (notice how nobody ever calls out Hinch on this one?). For those who wanted to keep him, part of the rationale was that he was an asset that we could "flip at the deadline" and strengthen the organization, which proved to be 100% false - flip him, sure, but only for the pathetic garbage that the Nationals got. I think we might have finally learned that nobody wants a rental hitter at the deadline, unless you will accept Dawel Lugo in return. So retaining Schoop for example, hoping to rehab him enough to "flip him at the deadline", was a hopelessly flawed tactic and they should have just cut him loose during the winter. From now on if we are deciding to keep a hitter I don't think that "flip him at the deadline" should be part of the rationale.

  8. Leaving radio on your own terms is a rarity. I loved how honest he was about his weirdness. But maybe he's not your cup of tea, but let me tell you a Stoney story. When WDFN update person Sabrina Black, who was a friend of mine, got really sick, with leukemia, the fine folks at Clear Channel decided to fire her for missing so much time. Chemo and hospital stays will do that. Steve Black's (St. Steven of Clawson) insurance was already maxed out. Stoney and Wojo went to management and told them whatever her salary was, take it equally out of their pay to cover it so she can keep her job and her insurance. So if you don't like him on the air - always remember that about him. She passed away with one less worry. Talk about a Mensch

  11. I filled out the entire season worth of predictions - & then deleted it because I've been a Lions fan for 40 years & the only thing that has ever been certain is that nothing will happen like I think it will. I do think they're the best team in the division and should make the playoffs. I think they have the talent to hang with anybody, & I expect a lot from this rookie class - but there are still a lot of question marks.

  13. My bad. Didn't realize FCL ended Tuesday. So, yeah. All those promotions aren't a coincidence. They want those guys playing.

  14. Look who has an active LinkedIn page! If this baseball thing doesn't work out, perhaps he could return to ****'s or Publix as a fallback. Who knows, maybe his Microsoft Office skills could score him a store manager position! Or at the very least assistant manager! 😉

  15. I know it's redudant and I'm probably in the minority but I just like the way "grand slam HR" sounds particularly in big moments, idk I just think it sounds like a bigger deal than just saying Grand Slam.

  16. I had a 1984 season retrospective on cassette and there's a game where Lou hit a grand slam against Milwaukee that would have won the divison that night except the Blue Jays rallied to win later on that night. On the call Paul Carey said the same thing.

  17. Every time I see "Eddys Leonard", I think of "Eddie Leon". That's Cleveland/Chicago White Sox and a low rarity score.

  18. I suppose a shallow free agent crop helps his cause, which, hey, he should use that to his advantage if he could. Here's a thought I had yesterday. How many times has a player left a team they played for in one season and then played against them in the next season but as a member for two different teams? .375/.400/.750 vs Detroit this season. Better hope he ends up in a division far, far away?

  21. The Republicans have to have a TV ad essentially telling them that Russia is the bad guy and we need to support Ukraine. That's sad and pathetic!

  27. Chiefs all world DT Chris Jones has said that he is willing to sit out and forfeit game checks through the first 8 games of the season if he doesn't get the extension that he is looking for. I'm sure it will end up being resolved but it sure would be nice to not have to play against him in week 1.
