How about we try some facts: What did the Tigers offer Correa? 10 years $275 mill = $27.5MM AAV (For some reason I thought it was $295 mill but I was wrong...) What did the Twins offer Correa? 10 years $285 mill = $28.5MM AAV What did the Giants offer Correa? 13 years $350 mill = $26.9MM AAV What did the Mets offer Correa? 12 years $315 mill = $26.25MM AAV What is chasf calling the Tigers Offer? Not Serious. Come again?2 points

Still not sure how the Michigan lineman was able to get in there and strip sack the Ohio State QB at such a big moment. Must have done have some sign-stealing.2 points

I love how all you hear Lomas say is "Hutch" & then Dan Miller just goes nuts. "What. A. Game."2 points

Just like I said after the second pick. Don’t worry, we’ll be up at the half. You don’t see it? Must have forgotten to press submit.2 points

When people, meaning professional writers, use “rip off” in the wrong way. A football writer for the Chicago Tribune this morning wrote, “Justin Herbert and his offense were waiting for one more opportunity [to get the football back and score again] after ripping off five consecutive touchdown drives”. Someone doesn’t “rip off” five consecutive touchdown drives. Someone reels off five consecutive touchdown drives. What someone rips off is a palate of footballs from the back room of a Sports Authority.2 points

Talking a pause from the smack, trolling, excuse making, and all the other general trash in this thread, I think everyone can agree that this is pretty awesome.2 points

right, i agree. the difference is what that punishment should be and the rhetoric around what happened. i dont think this is a big deal because of the reality of sign stealing being legal and everyone doing it. for practical purposes there is little edge gained by michigan over what ohio state did. in fact, i would say what ohio state did was more effective. which is not to say ohio state should be punished because what they did was within the rules. i propose to you that the reason behind the "no in person scouting" rule is antiquated. it is a rule to protect smaller colleges who dont have the means to send scouts to opposing games from the big schools (like say, all the big ten schools...even purdue!) who could send multiple scouts like nfl teams do. the idea that this is the worst scandal in big ten history, or even a scandal at all, is a media creation and the failure of the big ten commissioner to get his conference under control (and that includes getting michigan under control).2 points

Hopefully Gores has enough sense to move on from Weaver after the season.1 point

The Lions couldn't stop Fields on that counter play and they didn't run it once on that final drive. I thought for sure that they'd do it on 3rd and long and when he threw deep, I felt relief. That's why teams like the Bears constantly remain bad.1 point

Thanks for the Dan Miller posts. You're the best!!1 point

I think it's fair to say the Bears are a little better than their record. Fields has actually played real well his last few games, and seems to be figuring it out. They're a top team against the run and also have highly ranked running game. DJ Moore is a game breaking stud1 point

Hutch beat the hold to close it out..great ending to a scary game1 point

The secondary is ****ing trash. We get so many illegal contacts because they are so poorly coached. This is the worst defensive coaching staff at any level of football.1 point

I can ask for $600 million and not a penny less and if someone offers $450 million that IS a serious offer. If no one else offers above $375 mill and I take the $450 mill... Tell me again how that is NOT a serious offer? Just because it was lower than what I SAID I would not accept less of...? Any player can ask for the moon. $295 mill absolutely was a serious offer. Go ahead and stick to your subjective guns... I get it. But I'm not changing my mind either. They made a serious offer for Correa (sorry to sound like a broken record), OBJECTIVELY.1 point

Montgomery picked up a 4th and 5 running last week, behind a pull block from Jackson IIRC. So yes, it seems likely if they had been healthy the Lions would not have been down 28-0 before getting a first down.1 point

The thing is he has always looked terrible at the plate, but he use to make up for it with power. He had the lowest k rate of his career this year. What was missing was power.1 point

The Lions are still a year away from peaking. Defensive upgrades in the offseason should really do it.1 point

I really feel bad for Austin Meadows. His career is probably over because of vertigo (just like Nick Esasky) and he's only 28 and I am sure he would have loved to start a game with his brother. I hope he can make a comeback, I'm rooting for him.1 point

I am much more into classical music than as a kid (and I would guess this is normal). Funny, most of us were really introduced to classical music through cartoons. I love parts of Carmen because it was used in the original Bad News Bears movie (because it was royalty-free, LOL). Back in the 80s I was home one day, Tigers were supposed to be on but it rained out and it was just a lousy day, so clicking around I stopped on the movie Amadeus. Never had much appeal to me, but had nothing else to do. Within 15 minutes I was glued to it, knowing virtually nothing about classical music or Mozart, The movie (and play) is brilliant and F. Murray Abraham deserved his Oscar. Funny that the guy who played Pinto in Animal House played Mozart, but according to the movie (and many biographies) Pinto was far more mature than Mozart was. Tom Hulce was great too and probably finished second to Abraham at the Oscars. Started developing a whole new appreciation for the music after this movie. The only unfortunate thing is that it really does unfairly smear Salieri, who had nothin to really do with Mozart's death. Wolfie exhausted himself with work, partying and drugs/drink. Like a true rock star would. I love this scene and how Salieri finally gets it, how his jealousy finally goes away and he can appreciate the genius of it. I love that someone put the scene to sheet music. Mozart unknowingly writing his own Requiem. I watched this movie a couple times when I had Covid recently. Kind of forgot how brilliant it was.1 point

Couple points: Israel is opening safe-corridors out of Al-Shifa. There was at one point a week or two ago over 10,000 in Al-Shifa. There is now less than 2,500. Stating Israel is not allowing anyone to leave Al-Shifa is BS. Sorry. Hamas shoots at people leaving Al-Shifa and other hospitals to try to keep the Gazans trapped as hostages/ human shields at those hospitals. And shoots at people in the safe corridors trying to escape. It is Hamas that is holding both Israeli's and Gazans hostage. FYI. Hamas has hidden 200,000 gallons of fuel and refuses to give any to hospitals or any other Gazan, they've hidden stores of food and water. But you know... for Hamas' purposes: **** their fellow Palestinians. They could care less if Palestinian babies die in hospitals without fuel. As long as Israel gets the blame for Hamas' war crimes.. they're fine with dead Palestinians. The higher the Palestinian death count the better for Hamas. Bombing south Gaza? Do you mean, Hamas is attacking Israeli forces with missiles from south Gaza and Israel is returning fire? Because that would be the truth, versus Hamas propaganda. I'm not interested in Hamas' lies or propaganda. Just to set the record straight.1 point
