Tork's on bust-watch as far as I'm concerned. If he can't hit, he's worthless.3 points

Lange has options, and it might be a good time to use them to bring up a fresh arm for the nightcap.2 points

Kerri Russell was in The Americans, wasn't she? A very fine show!2 points

If Selleck had done Jones it would have been one and done. He couldn't have given the character the irony that is Ford's calling card and makes a romp like an Indiana Jones movie work.2 points

I don’t know that I like Chafin here with two games on tap for tomorrow. This garbage time moment is tailor-made for Joey Wentz.2 points

Keith is making them all look bad, shortening up and taking base hits with RISC.1 point

Looks at lineup graphic on TV. Baez .282? What?! Oh, wait, that’s OPS. Ok, that makes sense now.1 point

Pretty obvious Vierling wasn’t up to it. But how many ball players are up to bunting anymore?1 point

Tork's baseball instincts are very questionable. Platoon DH batting 7th is in his future.1 point

Yes and Yes the runner sucks. Just play 3 normal innings and call it a tie if need be. Football and Hockey have them. Ties stink but it's the better alternative .1 point

I will say that I really love seeing these local commercials, such as for Victory Motors in Chesterfield, Wyandotte, and Royal Oak, on Tiger games I see on my MLB Extra Innings package, rather than MLB forcing a blocking of local commercials and putting on bland and generic spots for old people drugs or, worse, Draft Kings. It’s the complete opposite with MLB Gameday Audio, in which not only do they block local radio station ads and play the same four spots over and over for Chicago-based companies when I listen to Tiger games at home, but no matter where I go in the country, I don’t even get what the local ads would be. Instead, the same four spots for Chicago-based companies follow me all over the country. Terrible.1 point

I disagree a bit, he showed a willingness to use Seider and Raymond right away at a young age. I think he just has veryhigh standards for the young players. Edvinsson is definitely a nice addition to the team but I can also see why he was still in the AHL with some of his play. Seider and Raymond had already excelled against adults over in Sweden and Edvinsson still seems to have some brain farts. I do agree with you on Danielson, I think he's going to make the team next season. He plays a complete game and showed well in preseason last season, so I would not be shocked if he is another Seider/Raymond type. I'd like the team to give him and Albert Johannson a fair shake at making the roster next season. Johannson has been having a solid season and his coaches and teammates rave about him. Maybe the Wings can get creative and attach an excess d-man in a trade with Beggren or something. I would not re-sign Gostisbehere personally, he's served his purpose keeping Seider's power play points down for his next contract 😉 I am assuming Edvinsson will be in Detroit, and while I would love a look at Kasper I can see them wanting to give him a full season of top line center in Grand Rapids to see how it goes (he's worked his way up there from the fourth line this year). I think he and Cossa will get a few games next season but be regulars in GR. Mazur could get a look too.1 point

I'm convinced Angel Hernandez is on the take from companies that manufacture the robo home plate umpires... https://x.com/umpireauditor/status/1779005111525867814?s=61&t=akgNyUltuSb7RN54lulxTw1 point

Knowing the Tigers High Level brass we could have another Hindenburg on our hands. It might be better to house the company jet at Coleman Young to ferry players. It's about a 15 minute drive and a smaller corporate jet would be faster than a giant balloon1 point

That transportation mode makes sense. A slingshot is slightly underqualified. That would barely get someone to north of Monroe from either direction. Although if the winds last night were lined up just right, it could've worked one way.1 point

This is the first time I have ever heard Wenceel Perez’s name said out loud. I always wondered whether it pronounced “Wen-SEAL” or “Wen-SAIL”. I never even consider how Benetti said it: “WEN-sell”.1 point

The rule in 2023 is 4.03(c)4. https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/wqn5ah4c3qtivwx3jatm.pdf There is no provision made for a change of score later in the game, so presumably if the lead margin narrowed, you'd have to go back to the bullpen for the next inning.1 point

Its really early, but I dont know if there's a team where preseason expectations versus early performance is more off base than the Minnesota Twins. Injuries are a big part of the story, but if the Guardians, Tigers and Royals are better competition than expected, they are in a lot of trouble1 point

Javy should just tell himself he's not going to swing the bat on any 2 strike pitch for a week. If they throw him a strike - a called K is no worse than a swinging one, and it may begin to give him enough credibility to start getting hittable pitches again.1 point

Baez should just not swing at any outside pitch. It’s going to be a slider/sweeper and he has no shot at making contact. Go down looking is better than swinging at something he’d need a boat par to hit.1 point

There is no doubt that Hamas has an agenda and the Gaza Health Ministry works under the auspices of Hamas, so they would have an incentive to cook the numbers to make the death toll seem high, and to ignore the difference in deaths between Hamas fighters and ordinary civilians. But Israel also has an incentive to cook the numbers to make the death toll seem low, and to characterize the percent of deaths being Hamas fighters as being as close to 100% as possible. So whom to believe? Most people will believe the numbers of the side they are squarely on. Me, I'm not on any side, except on the side of the people who want nothing more than to live ordinary, everyday lives minding their own business, so I would want to know the number closest to the truth, versus the number that best supports the purpose of breathing fire into a political forum. Why do I tend to out more stock in the Hamas numbers than I do the IDF numbers? According to this, the World Health Organization characterizes the Health Ministry numbers as, if not "perfectly accurate on a minute-to-minute basis", then at least as being "largely reflect[ive of] the level of death and injury" during the siege. Also, Israel sealed Gaza’s borders and barred foreign journalists and humanitarian workers from even entering the area from the very beginning. That's the action of a party that has an interest in shielding what's happening in the area from the outside world. I wouldn't take the numbers of either side as being ... ahem ... the gospel truth, but I do believe that one side's numbers are probably more accurate than the other's. In the end, though, we won't know anything that's closer to the truth than either side's for years, if at all, and even then, it will be at the behest of the party that gets to write it all up as history.1 point
