Most RBIs for a Tigers catcher since Freehan! Parrish didn’t do it. Not a knock on Lance but it emphasizes how rare this is.2 points

Nice 3-inning outing by Wentz actually... No runs, 3 K's. He hasn't had too many of those...2 points

Javy has around a .700 OPS the past few weeks, honestly if he could just maintain something close to that next year it would really help this team.2 points

Don't underestimate the powers of the executive branch. If the Dem's win clearly win the Presidency, and the court tries some end around, the Executive branch is going tell the Judicial Branch it's sanctions have just been voided. It will be a crisis, but one the court will lose. But it wouldn't be 5-4, Trump would lose 7-2. Alito and Thomas are that insane, I don't believe the other 3 are.1 point

Most of the young guys are under control four plus years. Rogers for three more. Skubal and Mize for two more.1 point

Whew!! This is why I come here. I’m glad there are people that know more about this stuff than I do. Thank you. This is one less thing to toss and turn in bed thinking about all night long.1 point

They still have four more years of control. Arbitration eligible in 2026. Free agent 2029.1 point

Clark 4/5 on the day so far 3b,2B 2 singles. 1st 4 hit game of his young career.1 point

For his long-term career, redshirting this year was probably in his best interests anyway. I’m not sure how much he can do the way of working out with the team while he rehabs, but I don’t think this is any kind of death blow to JJ’s career or the Vikings in 2024 (though I never thought they would be good this year). 2024 Sam Darnold was probably better than 2024 JJ anyway.1 point

Hillsdale is also Toledo media market; Monroe isn't, although the southern portion of the county probably has access to TV stations. Granted, Hillsdale is significantly more red than Lenawee or Monroe so probably less of an effect there. Either way, people would be surprised, but margins can actually swing in border counties based on TV Market Advertising... probably less so with a Presidential election than a Governors race or a primary, but it isn't insignificant either if you're trying to reach every single voter. I didn't see it listed, but South Bend media market would be another one that's probably worth throwing a few dollars at even though it's in Indiana.... decent population base along the border in those counties as well1 point

I'm still sad he passed away. He had such an impact on me during his very brief career. Somewhere the Bird is pitching to Tony Conigliaro in a field of dreams1 point

See...I don't agree about players missing months per season because of injury as "normal." Carpenter has been out since May. Riley just made it thru 100 games for the 1st time. We can't have players, who we count on, missing this much time if we hope to compete. Yes, depth would be nice but how many quality players will sign with a team to sit on the bench in case of injury? And how many quality players is it possible to stash in the minors? I said before the season that Riley had to stay healthy for a few years to shake the injury prone label. He made it 100 games...1 point

I like the deterministic nature of this except we don't have enough data. We all need to test marry one -- Honey don't worry, its for science -- and see if it improves our ability to hit secondary and tertiary pitches at the MLB level. Casting calls for MTF poster test subject wives will be held next Monday through Thursday. This experience will convey one credit hour for a community college of your choice.1 point

My brief summary of this is simply that there were a lot of previous Biden voters who were not going to vote this year if it were Biden/Trump. There are also previous Trump voters who are not going to vote this year, and still won't. But not as many as the first group. With Harris on the ticket, a lot of those in the first group are now going to vote and she's not lost a statistically significant number of previous Biden voters. This runs counter to my conventional wisdom but the polls and enthusiasm we see show I was wrong. She elevated her base and did nothing to Trump's base. The D's had room to grow, the R's are maxed out. I saw a tweet earlier today that replayed a Nikki Haley quote from February. She said the first ticket to drop their 80 year old candidate would win. The next President will be a female, either her or Harris. She was right.1 point

I would personally invest in Traverse City since that area is moving left. They may already be. It’s about cutting into the margins up north. Alpena is probably cheap. This was the same tactic Benson had. She put ads all over the state and not just the blue areas.1 point

I don't mind Carpenter in the outfield, he's made some nice throws from right. If Meadows can hit enough to play center, and Greene is in one of the corners, I'd like to see guys like Carpenter and Malloy put on a glove and get out there and improve, especially Malloy, in a corner.1 point

Well that there is the Triple Crown. Why not just give him the Cy now, why are they stalling? Note - I think that when Skenes has enough innings to qualify he is going to have a half decent ERA1 point

I'm going to predict Torkelson rejoins the Tigers in Chicago on the 20th.1 point

Perhaps an example of Harris picking up a player whose skill set comports with what it is we are trying to do offensively. It's probably easier to pick up players from outside who have the skill set to take in the coaching we're putting across than it is to try to retrofit players who have been in the system so long they were shaped by the prior coaching and can;t adapt to the new ways. Not referring to anything I've seen you say, but this is a big reason why I believe we should give Harris more time.1 point

Hens fall 3-1 but the 1 was a Torkbomb on a 1st pitch FB. Mize with the start. 3.1 IP, 0R 1H 1BB 3K 50 pitches. Best FBs ~95mph1 point

I'm not a person that pines for the good old days. But this is the one aspect that is really depressing to me. It really should be embarrassing for anyone to support this scumbag. And it is such a measure of the increasing acceptance of incivility on our society that there are media servers that will even put this out. Of course if Trump is Exhibit 1 with the media, Elon is 1A with the medium.1 point

This evening I get to view BP from the field. Got to do it last year and got Miggy's autograph. This year can't top that but it's still fun to be down there listening to them all talk and such. They show the launch angle and exit velocity and it's easy to figure out what you need to do for a HR.1 point
