  4. To me the more interesting thing than the law involved was the widow's apparent change of heart. I just wonder if it's a situation where if Trump had had a little more personal grace and extended himself to and better recognized the other victims, he might have saved himself defending one more suit.

  5. Next commercial needs to feature a blonde woman with kids wearing a Stafford Rams jersey walking into an Applebees and the whole restaurant turns and looks at her and boos. Ryan Gosling then walks in wearing a Lions Goff jersey and Campbell greets him and hands him a menu and says you’re good enough for Applebees.

  10. the team mostly looks homer crazy - they need to reign it in and just get some hits. Jace Jung on a 1 for 15. Keith was 0 for 18 before the single in the 9th.

  16. If my incessant posting in the last week hasn't told you that I am beyond ready for this season to start, this post absolutely will. I have compiled an officially official ranking of the 54 games in the Campbell era. My scientific process involved looking at the 23 schedule, then 22, then 21, and ranking each game as I went. Hindsight was permitted for this exercise, as otherwise, every single loss would have been tied for the worst game ever. Disagree if you dare, but science doesn't lie. Putting it in a quote so it doesn't take up so much screen space. Black is year three, blue is year two, and red is year one. Lo and behold:

  17. I don't even think it is about the USSS bowing down to Trump's demands altho they certainly could have. The USSS most likely has a certain area/perimeter that they are responsible for and that is the ONLY area they are responsible for. Anything outside that area is NOT the responsibility of the USSS but COULD be the responsibility of the Trump campaign. Meaning if the Trump campaign wanted to hire additional security beyond the established perimeter, they were welcome to do so. My guess - based on a 50+ year record of Trump not paying anyone - the campaign chose not to do so.

  19. I always learned that good organizations fire people who tell the bosses what they don't want to hear, whether it's valid or not.

  20. If they can show the campaign took actions that ignored SS advice or acted in ways that subverted security efforts in place I suppose they would have a cause of action. As practical matter to sue the SS under the Fed Tort Claims Act I think you have to prove actual negligence and in the kind of multi-model failure to communicate situations like this was, explicit negligence might be a hard standard to meet, not to mention that SS can shield its procedures under security classification etc. So the lawyers must think the bar to show partial liability on the part of the campaign is a better bet.

  22. Understandable loss considering the travel jet lag and start time. Plus the Padres are solid. Rest tomorrow in Tijuana and take the next 2.

  23. This one just wasn’t in the cards tonight. Madden and Holton were solid.

  24. So do they have a six hour batting practice tomorrow on the off day or do they go down to Tijuana?

  27. Still crazy to me that the Rams are looking to make Jonah Jackson a week one center after he missed pretty much all of camp. He's only played 24 career snaps at center, and they all came in emergency fashion in 2021, when both Ragnow and Evan Brown were hurt. It also makes him the second highest paid center in NFL history.
