its important to not sanewash that JD stated that the GOP will allow as many people as need to be harmed so the mainstream media will cover their bogus story.2 points

Good take. People are sick of it. As I saw a comedian say a few years ago about why he liked Joe Biden. “If you ask me what Joe Biden did today…. I don’t know. I like not knowing what the president is doing every five minutes”2 points

What a terrible prediction this turned out to be. I should have my major league message board scouting card pulled.1 point

the tackles are actually "ok." wright was pretty good last year. the interior was another story. former lions ling snapper scott daly was just promoted from the practice squad to be backup center because their starter is now out for the season. houston does have a fearsome pass rush, so i would cut them a little slack there. and williams is a roomie who holds onto the ball too long. that said, they were overwhelmed yesterday. shades on the lions 2023 when james houston had his big game against the bears. williams really dis get crushed yesterday, it was painful.1 point

Sorry if this was posted already, haven't been on here much recently. I just learned that apparently a young boy was killed in an accident by a Haitian immigrant in Springfield and in part this is what the right riled up their base as they exaggerated the incident. This is his dad speaking recently.1 point

Also, the Niners and Ravens lost to teams that most people didn't have in the playoffs. Lots of weird things happen early in the season. Not worried about the Lions in the least, I had a feeling that there might be some rustiness early on with them not having played one snap in preseason (not a fan of that btw). This team will be humming in the second half of the season, I have little doubt about that, but there might be some rough patches until then.1 point

When my wife lived in Springfield during a college internship, she went to a wine/cheese party at Wittenberg. We thought it was a cool small town. It had history. Like the kind you'd come across driving along the pre-interstate highways. Probably dependent upon a major industry and if that goes.. then the town goes. Old Victorian houses, grand gov't buildings. Granted, we had to drive to Dayton for fun things to do if you are 23 years old but still... she has fond memories. She lived in a duplex where the other half was made up of.... Mexican migrant famlies who would come up for the season to work, then go back home when the work was over. It was the same family that came year after year. When my wife's internship ended in May we saw them coming in. The half my wife lived in was kept for students like her rotating through the hospital.1 point

we are reaching the territory where when we elect our next POTUS we could also be dealing with finding a new Chief Justice. Roberts has that the job almost 20 years now. The longest since.... some guys you have never heard of! He will be 70 next year. And a Chief Justice can be filled by an existing member, so a GOP President could elevate a Gorsuch or Barrett. Still requires Senate confirmation. When Roberts was nominated, he was first picked to fill Sanda Day O'Conner. Then Rehnquist died, so Bush pulled that nomination, picked Roberts again to fill that seat and the chief justice seat. Once that was done, he put in Alito to take Sandra's spot. Think how different the country would be if Rehnquist and Ginsberg had lived a bit longer.1 point

He endorsed Vivek/Nikki as a ticket in this election, so I would say he's still pretty hard to pin down politically. As most mental cases are.1 point

Agree. Not a great day for Goff. Out of sync is exactly right. He was uncomfortable and a step late all day. Very unusual. If he takes a sack in the 4th, instead of trying an out of character Superman throw, we kick a FG instead of a pick and probably win. Not a great day for Ben or Dan. Ben is struggling with the versatility and the many weapons on this offense. He didn’t adjust to TB and what they were doing. I was impressed with TB defense. Reminded me a lot of the Lions last year doing it with young guys that aren’t household names yet. Todd Bowles is underrated as a defensive guru. Not a great day for the OL. Too much pressure on Goff and didn’t keep a good pocket very often. They were the least to blame of the problem groups but they still need to be better. Not a great day for the refs. They missed a bunch of calls especially in the first half. It’s part of the game and not why they lost but they missed multiple PI calls and yet called a really soft on on Arnold on the first drive. It was a good day for the defense. They played very well against a really good offense with weapons. Keeping the total yardage to 216 with 2 picks and 2-10 on 3rd down should have been good enough to win. Hutch has taken his game to another level and it’s awesome to watch. Not going to panic yet but next week will tell if we have real problems with the offense or not. Hopefully, Amon-Ra is not injured.1 point

There were a lot of passes short of the receivers, too. Goff is not in sync yet. Maybe next week Ben can get back to the run game and setting up play action off of it.1 point

Also assumes that this doesn't trigger more stupidity going forward from Trump's Campaign. Which, unfortunately, seems very likely. This is the counterintuitive take that I've seen today that bears some consideration: What happened today just reinforces and associates Trump's brand with chaos.... and perhaps reminds the persuadable voters that remain of various moments of chaos in term one. It's not a popular take, we are all conditioned to believe that "everything that happens helps Trump." But that's often not true... the muted response to his first assassination attempt should be a good example.1 point

I like Benetti because I think the role of a baseball TV guy can be on the goofy side. The other day he dropped a “how much ya bench?” reference and I thought only my friend Nick and I remembered that SNL sketch.1 point

All game long, I was screaming to give the ball to Montgomery. After last week, I knew he could take us on his shoulders, control the clock and eventually score. But the Lions game plan was to go after the Bucs injured secondary. And they wouldn't deviate from that idea, even when it was obvious Goff wasn't on top of his game. This game was lost by our impatient coaches, constantly going for the big play that wasn't there. Bummer... Edit; at least we have the Tigers. Lmao1 point

with 2 starting DTs out, the OL should have been able to control this game, instead they got beat time and time again; something is missing and I cannot believe it is Josh Reynolds; the OT drive against the Rams was one of the few times they looked like last year's team1 point

danielson again looks like the best player on the ice. 200 foot player with size, passing ability, and underrated skill. didnt see buium. lombardi looks good too. playing a lot better defense and is blessed with speed to burn. i still think he's an nhl player.1 point

Baltimore and San Francisco losing makes me feel a little better. Minnesota is 2-0 but doesn’t scare me. At least not yet.1 point
