  1. Multiple things can be true at the same time: 1. There is no negotiation possible with an entity whose declared purpose is to wipe Israel from the face of the earth. That is Hamas. 2. Other entities in the region have been talking out of both sides of their mouths. Calling for peace ,all while harboring terrorists. Supplying arms & $$…. 3. Netanyahu was distracted by his own autocratic power grab attempts. He took his very corrupt eyes off the ball….. and like all wanna be dictators, he’s now overdoing it in the death and destruction department.

  2. While I think history argues that as many FA signings are busts as are winners, the one thing I have come around on is don't try to scrimp. It's the 2nd tier guys like Zimmermann and Baez where you get burned trying to save money. IOW when looking at FA's I think the downside risk is far more important than the contract cost in the value equation. You are better off paying higher dollar for the player that is most likely to produce than hedging on the cost side and ending up having to write it all off. TL,DR version - if you are going, go after Bregman.

  7. If we hypothetically acquired Diaz in a trade and shipped Torkelson to Tampa, Spencer would hit .340 with 50 HRs and a 1.250 OPS while playing gold glove defense.

  8. Just wait until 20 games in when we're 2-18 and THJ is starting or something. Then the rage will flow! 😄

  12. While I can't be sure, I think since a lot of the earliest casualties were in blue cities that COVID affected people from different belief systems pretty evenly.

  14. Could you imagine Hinch getting fired after that improbable run, because of one bad inning by the best pitcher in baseball? I’d be in front of Little Caesar’s HQ with a pitchfork.

  15. Holmes mentioned after the Decker extension they were working on a deal with McNeil. Often times deals get done during the bye week. They got Montgomery’s deal done during the bye and likely got most of McNeil’s. Probably just coincidence it got done after the Hutchinson injury.

  16. True. The conversation earlier was about who the actual policy holders were.

  17. I renewed back in August, before the run! Bet they wish they had held off putting those together. In fact when my rep called to ask about renewing the team was near its low point.

  19. I really think the whole club seat business model has resulted in really bad optics on home plate shots during games. This is an ALCS game and half the seats behind home plate are empty. It’s just a bad look.

  20. I'm really curious to see how good Zeke is at football, especially at 63 years old. I wanted Trey Hendrickson but Holmes opted to sign Isiah Thomas instead.

  21. Howie Roseman had the pick two spots ahead of the Lions. He traded back one pick behind the Lions. He and the Eagles staff wanted McNeil. He didn’t expect the Lions to double dip at DT but they drafted McNeil anyway. You can see the guy at the end is not happy about trading back and losing McNeil.

  23. Technology casualty. Double line spacing and variable kerning to justify lines on both ends. When we wrote long hand on individual sheets of paper, who wanted to waste a line? When its print on a screen and the printer does 20/sheets per minute or it never gets printed at all, it's hard to beat the look of blocked paragraphs. Printed books still use indents, but they probably still care about page count.

  24. This is arguably dumber than any deal Weaver did outside of the Bruce Brown one. At least Weaver got 2nds and didn't have to give back a useful player for his version of THJ in Joe Harris.
