I was reminiscing the other day about elections like 1976, when I was not going to be particularly unhappy in the morning whichever guy won. Good times.....3 points

I wanted to share an anecdotal story from door knocking this morning. I knocked on a door and the lady who answered is probably early to mid-40s. She let me know right away that she is Puerto Rican-American. She also let me know that her and her daughter are voting for Harris because of what was said at the MSG rally about Puerto Rico by Trump's people. It seems to be breaking through.3 points

I think you'd have a hard time even calling that targeting. He was dropping into the hit, not launching himself. Bad hit? Yes. Foul, Yes. Ejection? Come on...2 points

My favorite was the Ecology Song. Or was it Mercy, Mercy, Me? ETA: And people did listen for a while, and passed legislation to help with clean air and water with good results. Unfortunately, people have either forgotten, or never knew about rivers catching fire, air quality alerts, and generally how dirty many of our cities were, and how important it is to keep the regulations to maintain our cleaner, healthier, environment. Even now it's unacceptable that we keep hearing about lead contaminated water in places-and yet it could get even worse.2 points

I'd be more for Bregman if he was the last piece of the puzzle to put us over the top in October. But we have a bunch of other holes to plug, so I think I'd be surprised if we went all in on him.2 points

Cardinals up 15 on the Bears in the 4th and are in Chicago territory trying to make it a 3-score game. Update: Just did so. 27-9.1 point

Barring Lions fumbles on run plays or kicks, it will be almost impossible for Green Bay to come back in this. Would be nice to run off a few minutes here.1 point

So the Lions can play in weather like real men do? Heck yeah!1 point

From the article: Sometimes I think that Republican operatives don't realize that most normal Americans aren't tied in with every single outrage of the day that comes down the pipe.... it's one of the party's biggest flaws in the Trump era. The average voter knew about MSG and likely didn't hear about Biden or anything he said....1 point

Both Biden and Harris needed to be saying this the last several months.1 point

Campbell's aggressiveness nets us 4 extra points, something that will surely be forgotten about the next time an aggressive move goes wrong.1 point

I used to love everything about elections-from watching the debates to watching the conventions, right up to watching the returns come in on Election Day. This was true even when the results were different from what I had hoped. Now I think I'll have to stay offline for the next few days, except for some things I absolutely have to do online. '76 was the first election I was allowed to stay up and watch-I was 9. I vaguely wanted Carter to win but felt like Ford was also fine.1 point

A Trump win will not be good for my job security or the security of anyone whose job depends on a competent government. Massachustts is indeed a great place to live.1 point

We're pretty doom and gloom here, because a Drumpf win could be a big disaster for MA-and it's really stressful to know that our future could depend on how the people in about 7-8 states vote. Even with all of its faults MA is a really great place to live.1 point

Somehow, if and when this era passes we're all going to have to try our best to come back together after being driven apart by all of this rhetoric. When this happens I don't know, and will depend on what happens on Tuesday. I can only say it won't be easy, and all the junk 'news' out there might make it impossible. I hope not.1 point

I've seen similar pictures of young women in Afghanistan. They should be a warning. But... denial is not just a river. And yes, that is exactly what MAGA wants.1 point

Iowa has also had a lot of trouble attracting doctors in general, but especially OBGYNs. This isn't just because of the abortion ban, of course, but it certainly doesn't help. This is one issue which really needs to be addressed, and soon-hospitals are closing, especially in rural areas but also in poorer urban neighborhoods. Where I grew up the nearest hospital was 30-45 minutes away, and if that closed, the next nearest one was even farther away.1 point

He was so damn right. There was a reason the leftists like George Orwell who could see the danger of Stalin and Hitler could see how much they needed Churchill.1 point

Maybe this is a conversation better had after the votes are cast, but people really need to stop stereotyping and understand that the demographics that swung heavily toward Trump in 2016 may not have the same relationship with him today. I'm not saying it's a lot of folks, but not everybody feels the same way that they did then. And it may impact actual voting behavior. But there's a tendency if you don't spend time in rural America to assume that perceptions don't change, and that's not necessarily true.1 point

There won't be a next Trump. He's a freak who has totally conned 40% of the electorate. If there is one, I hope they expose him a lot more quickly. I have no problem wth the media supporting a conservative candidate who is intelligent and sane. I wouldn't vote for that person, but I would consider them qualified.1 point

Ha-Seong Kim of the Padres declined his player option and is now a FA. Could be a potential target for the Tigers, he's a right handed bat that can play all over the infield and will only be 29 next season.1 point

Incorrect. Monetization of debt starts with spending. Spending starts in congress. The Fed couldn't monetize debt unless debt is issued (government bonds of some type). Wall Street benefits no matter what as they are the exchange that handles the transactions (bond auctions) and get the money first. All these inept assholes that's inhabited congress for the last X amount of years are at fault, including the two dip****s we have today.1 point
