  1. Franky anybody who claims to love America cannot be a Trump voter because his ideals and way he ruled run counter to what America stood for. Like his policies all you want and I don’t give a **** whether you served in the military or not. It’s a direct conflict. You can pick which flag to wear, the American flag or the Trump flag. But if you have both they don’t line up. Just like the confederate flag.

  3. I won't panic either way. They could lose 49-7 and they'll still likely finish 13-4 or better

  6. I just wanted to see the guy who I strongly believe attempted a coup against the United States of America be put on trial. Now, we'll never know for sure and that's a really bad thing for the health of our republic.

  7. Elon has accepted partial payment for helping with the election. Tesla is up 38% since election day. I bet Elon/Twitter buys Truth Social for an inflated price about 6-18 months after the Trump presidency ends. Then everyone will have received payment for their part. Election laws be damned.

  10. This team is unbelievable. That's all I've got to say, this was the type of win that Championship teams pull out and only championship level teams.

  12. Man, how many games… or dozens of games… have we seen the Lions lose like that over the years? It is good to win one. Kudos to AG. This defense kept the team in it.

  14. The fact that the absolute best case scenario for a third party vote in this country (ie. winning a few states) is that it would lead to the election being thrown to the House and the winner of being picked by state House delegation vote is a big reason I, personally, just can't do it. Other people believe differently, and I understand it and respect it. But personally just couldn't do it... Until something epochal happens to our party system, I'll be choosing the least bad choice.

  19. So, apparently Trump has officially announced that he is going to eliminate the Department of Education. It's not surprising that a President who can't read or speak beyond a third grade level would want to eliminate a department with the word "education" in it.

  21. Okay, yeah, technically it'll be a neutral field... but if the Lions make the SB I expect it to be the most lopsided crowd in a long time. First, I suspect there will be a LOT of Lions fans who put up the big bucks to go. How many years have we been waiting? Second, I suspect the Lions would be the preferred rooting interest of most of the fans of the other 30 teams that aren't there.

  22. the approach was mostly wrong. If you want to slow the flow, the people coming need to understand they can't stay, not that it's harder to get across - there will always be ways to get across. And in fact we have little problem interdicting people who do cross, it has been that the process after they are interdicted is broken. The dems sort of went along with theoretical discussion that border 'security' was the problem because they didn't want to face changing the asylum system because it's a progressive marker. If you could close the border tight enough, you wouldn't have to face that the asylum system was broken. But 'sealing' the border is an illusion. You can't apprehend a crosser until they are in the US and as soon as they cross the line they can avoid being returned. That is where the bigger part of the problem has been for a long time now. And this doesn't even touch on the fact that small business owners (largely GOP) don't want stricter employment enforcement either. A dirty little economic secret is that the large number of undocumenteds in the workforce creates a constant downward pressure on entry level wages across the economy and that's just peachy with the Chamber of Commerce.

  25. It's kinda funny... because I wasn't even really angry that we were losing. I mean I wasn't happy and it wasn't that I thought we'd come back and win... It was just: "Meh... bad games happen." I heard this said about baseball but honestly it applies to all sports I think: It's the fans of the mediocre teams that are most invested in the wins and losses. Fans of a bad team assume losses will happen and if they win: "Well, that's nice, but that isn't like we're all of a sudden good." Fans of a good team assume a win, but if they lose: "Well, bad games happen. We'll get back on the winning side next game." It's just the people in the middle who feel the outcome of the game is defining if their team is good or bad because it matters each game. I'm not saying this to try to trash on those fans who are like that of middle of the road teams. Lord knows I've been that fan many, many times. No, the reason I'm saying this is that I 100% felts like a fan of a good team last night. I certainly wasn't happy that the Lions were getting their butt whopped, but I never thought: "There goes the season... our team sucks." It's amazing how far we've come in 4 years.

  27. Going back to the Texans’ situation with just under 2 minutes to go. 5 possible outcomes: A) - successful FG, lead by 3, give Lions ball back around Lions 30 yard line (after kickoff) with around 1:50 to go B) miss FG, tied, give Lions ball back at the Lions 48 yard line with 1:51 to go C) successful going for it on 4th and 4, tied, possess the ball with a 1st down at the Lions 35 yard line or closer D) - fail going for it on 4th and 4, tied, give Lions ball back around the Lions 40 with around 1:50 to go E) - punt, tied, give the Lions the ball back at, say, around the Lions 10-20 yard line with around 1:50 to go I think choosing C/D might have been the highest percentage play for the Texans over choosing A/B Why? I wonder what the stats would show are the odds of hitting a 58 yarder (factoring the Texans kicker’s strong leg) vs converting on 4th. Probably a bit under 50/50, maybe 40% for both? Missing the FG or being stopped on 4th down would be roughly equally bad. But would it be better to be successful on that FG or successful on the 4th and 4? The FG would have put the Texans ahead but the Lions would have the ball with plenty of time. Converting the 4th down would have kept the game tied, but the Texans would have a fresh set of downs closer to a reasonable FG range, with 3 downs to move it closer and/or run time off the clock and/or get the Lions to burn timeouts.
