  1. Who gives a ****... Pete Hegseth should be judged on Pete Hegseth's record. And his record reflects that he would have trouble keeping a job at the local Applebees, let alone the Pentagon.

  2. I am absolutely incredulous reading/listening to this “argument”. Are you ****ing Kidding me? how many of you Motown bombers here show up drunk for work? How many of you cheat on your wife or your husband? Well, hey Mr. Mark, Wayne Mr. Mark, Wayne Whalen, Mr. Marc mean Wollen Mullen…. uh, you know who you are…. The answer out here in the normal world is “not many.” Not many and to make it sound like this is the norm is not only ridiculous. It’s shameful and these are supposed to be the leaders of our society who ever gently although they should be held to a higher standard seem to be held to absolutely no ****ing standard. so characterizing that dribble pouring out of his mouth as he sit behind a microphone as “very well said“ may be the stupidest thing I’ve read here in a while. No it’s not very well. Said it’s it’s rather awful. so we have this to look forward to. The fox couch potato, who has never managed a budget in his life, who has never managed military personnel, who other than serving for the time that he did didn’t continue his education and his job expansion in the military…… This is who you want to put in charge of all of it ? So every woman, or immigrant man or woman who is a member of the military, this is a person who will inspire them? It sounds like a bad Goldie Hawn movie premise….. Throw in Gomer Pyle, too.

  4. I made $1.60 an hour minimum wage for a summer job in 1969 when I worked at the newspaper plant in my small town of Auburn Indiana. It was hot and dangerous work. And no, I didn’t love it or feel grateful for it. I melted down the Linotype cold type used on printing presses into 50 lb. bars that could then be fed back into the Linotypes. (by the next year they switched to offset printing in these machines were eliminated). It was one of the few times in my life when I was really ripped after lifting those bars all day long all summer long.

  5. I will actually be in DC Sunday-Saturday! My daughter is the Chicago college chapter president of the Right for Life. She will be a special guest of Indiana Senator Jim Banks at the Starlight ball Monday night (our home district) and I get to be her plus one. So proud of her and what she stands for. You should see some of the crazy protesters that show up to the march, it will be my fith one attending.

  9. No doubt. But I think you can make a connection between the left's embrace of AITF as a platform for liberalism being a missed or at least incomplete understanding, with today's liberal misunderstanding of the Trump voter. Archie may have lost the script battles in ATIF, but he was exactly the early representation of and hero to the white male frustrated by a culture that was leaving him behind regardless of whether he was winning or losing, and the conservative viewer identified with his sense of frustration and even with his losses in those cultural battles. Archie was still the 'sane' one among all the nutty people, and that's what the left viewpoint viewer misses when they think about what the show signified to its non-left leaning viewers. And I think Lear knew this perfectly well. He was first and foremost trying to create a popular show and if he could bask in the approval of his Hollywood cohort while still winking to the silent majority that yes, they were correct, left was ditzy, he was happy to do it -- and bank the proceeds.

  13. I don't know what happened with Boardwalk Empire in terms of planned seasons or whatever but thats another show that went haywire in my mind. I don't remember enough to know when but at the time I remember feeling like they boxed themselves in. Of course that was omething Vince Gillian and team did to themselves intentionally but brilliantly found ways aroudn it.

  14. It won't be as bad as Taft's Or Reagan's Coldest January 20th Traditional Date (and overall): 1985 - President Ronald Reagan's second swearing-in ceremony on January 21 had to be held indoors and the parade was canceled. The outside temperature at noon was only 7°F. The morning low was 4° below zero and the daytime high was only 17°. Wind chill temperatures during the afternoon were in the -10 to -20°F range. https://www.weather.gov/lwx/events_Inauguration

  21. It’s funny most of the “experts” are predicting a one score game with the Lions only scoring around 30. We averaged for the year over 33. I look at the matchup against their defense and don’t see the likelihood of them holding us under our average. I am actually predicting somewhere around a 37-27 type of game. Will be close for a while but eventually we get a couple stops in the second half.

  25. 1) I don't think most hard core Trump supporters care all that much about the issues deep down. It's mostly about entertainment value at this point (as tedious and boring as the show is) 2) A feature of Term 1 that will not doubt roll over into Term 2 is the concept of normal, non-fanatical people being fed chicken**** mixed with shards of glass in it and being told it's chicken salad. Happened all the time the first time around and, lo and behold, it happened today with Pete Hegseth

  27. The thing I don't get is why the Trump supporters aren't more upset about these clearly incompetent picks. Look at every administration that was ever able to achieve its goals and the accomplishment is directly proportional to the quality of the top tier of people installed. Trump is basically a solo operator, he just wants people to direct so he doesn't care if his picks are independently able to initiate in their roles, but even after holding the job once he's a fool, because the job is way too big for one man be at the center of everything that needs to be done, especially one as allergic to hard work as Trump. So he is basically guaranteeing the ineptitude of his presidency. The only things the Trump admin will pay any attention to are the things that get all the way to Trump himself, and that's pretty much a recipe for a government >95% on autopilot. For those of us who believe Trump is more likely to damage than fix anything he touches, that's actually fine, but If you voted for him I don't know why you'd be happy about that.

  29. 😱😱😱 I've lived through every year of WCF's reign, which long ago forced me into a very Zen state about the Lions (about all sports teams really). Expectations have been extinguished so thoroughly I never visualize the future, only accept the "What Is". On the plus side, that means this is all gravy. Seriously though, at this point you aren't playing any bad teams. You have to enjoy it for as long as the ride lasts.
