From what I can tell the answer to all questions is Elon Musk. He was sold the country by Trump (who doesn't own it) for $225 Million.3 points

Appears to be to simply look at a description on any spending. Does it indicate another country? If yes, cut it. Could a person on X construe it to be DEI related? If yes, cut it. Does it sound boring? If yes, IDK, maybe flip a coin.2 points

They are a legal constitutionally mandated org filled with highly trained, credentialed, and cleared individuals who have received a mandate from Congress to pursue acts that might otherwise violate the Anti-Deficiency Act, the Privacy Act, HIPPA, and various US law on national security violations. Oh wait, no not at all.2 points

I agree. He chose to no longer engage in the conversation, but instead just laugh reacting to many posts. Its most definitely trolling.2 points

Here is a strange one. Cecil Fielder finished his career with 319 home runs. His son, Prince Fielder, finished his career with 319 home runs. But wait, there's more, both had 97 two out home runs, both had 49 fourth inning home runs, both had 29 fifth inning home runs and both had 18 ninth inning home runs. Also, both father and son had exactly forty percent of their hits go for extra bases. Pretty cool.2 points

With Bregman being the final big FA out there and Spring Training almost here, the media needs to induce clicks somehow. I know Boras is seen as a master in getting great contracts, but I kind of like the wait ‘em out thing the Tigers seem to be doing. I don’t think Bregman is either a huge get or a huge risk (without knowing term/$). i do think he’d improve the team, but if it doesn’t work out, that’s okay too.1 point

Dust is still settling, but this is shaping up to be a very successful trade deadline for Trajan. Gave up nothing and got a backup ballhandler (Schroeder), and young 3-and-D wing with athleticism (Martin), and three 2nd round picks. Weaver would've given away picks to get another useless draft bust Center. They're playing with house money right now sitting somewhere between a 6-8 seed when most people had them as a 10th seed or lower to start the year if they were lucky. There was no need to sacrifice the future if the right deal wasn't there. Gain assets, improve on the margins, and see what happens. You probably need a healthy Ivey and access to your picks (after this draft) before you can make a significant trade anyway.1 point

not speaking about the Tigers in particular - just the general issue about how any GM has to approach the decision of how much future liability to take on for the sake of a short term boost. And I think an irony that the conventional take would be that teams are more likely to take that big risk when they are already good - a sure playoff team, and want to increase their chances of winning a series, when it's probably a more rational approach to take the risk to get into the playoffs. The number of wins needed to get to the playoffs probably easier to predict your chances for than your chance of winning a series once you get the playoffs. Short series are just so close to random.1 point

I don’t think anybody believes that our chances of being in the playoffs is gonna nose-dive in the next 2 to 3 years. Except possibly you? Do you? Either way, I would bet money that Scott Harris is not going to sacrifice three or four or five years from now in order to win this year. He is not Dave Dombrowski, and speaking only for myself, thank God for that.1 point

It's like when Naziholic was convinced the boxer from Algeria was trans in a country where it is strictly forbidden. It's not about protecting girl's sports; it's about being able to attack girls you don't find feminine enough.1 point

Tigers are at a place where the marginal value of wins is very high. Difference between a 84 wins and a 87 wins may mean Wild Card vs. no playoffs. Bregman, or any impact addition, would mean less if they were looking at 65 or 95 wins.1 point

What the hell is the World News Times? In any event, it would not be super shocking to see Harris leverage whatever relationship he might have with Buster to make a deal happen.1 point

Thank God the Wings got lottery luck by losing it in 2020 to fall to 4th. Almost certainly would have picked consensus #1 Lafreniere, who wouldn’t even go top 5 in a re-draft. Stutzle and Raymond, in whichever order, are the top two of that draft.1 point

If it is to be believed that the Tigers have been in it and made him a top priority, there is no question in my mind that they have had an offer at least as good as the 6/156. Otherwise, they would have been out of it from the start as he clearly would have taken the Houston original offer if that was the best one on the table at the time.1 point

YEah that's one of my favorite random stats. Another is Musial having the exact same number of hits at home and on the road. Also the longest hit streak among all Yankee and Red Sox players is of course Joe Dimaggio at 56, the 2nd longest is also Dimaggio but not Joe but his brother Dom who had a 34 game hit streak. Oddly enough Dom's hit streak ended when he went 0-5 against the Yankees with his last at bat being a fly ball to Joe.1 point
