Of all the evil things this administration has done, sending migrants who may or may not be gang members with zero due process here is among the most despicable. This is a mega prison in El Salvador where prisoners are beaten, starved, and killed. Not all of them are gang members. And here is this melted plastic hag dehumanizing them. Disgusting.3 points

Frank Robinson trivia; On June 26, 1970, Robinson hit back-to-back grand slams in the fifth and sixth innings in the Orioles' 12–2 victory over the Washington Senators. The same runners were on base both times: Dave McNally was on third base, Don Buford was on second, and Paul Blair was on first.1 point

Here is how I used to make money with the lottery. A local speakeasy I used to frequent had two lottery machines (Ohio) where you could buy all sorts of tickets, including Keno. Beside the two machines (which could also check for winning tickets by reading the bar code) was a trash can. Or, you might say, the pot of gold. I would grab a handful of tickets when I was there and scan the ticket (losing ticket) into my Ohio Lottery phone app. Each ticket was 5 points for the most part. You could scan 1200 points a month. I used two phones so I could double up. Once I got to 10,000 points I would redeem them for a $100 gas card. So about every 4 months I got a hundred bucks in free gas. Some thought I was nuts for diving in the trash but I could care less. Free money is a good thing. 🙂1 point

Kinda like the last time we made it except with Blake. We were likely going down easily against the Bucks but Blake playing on 1 leg killed any hope of us making it competitive.1 point

I tell you the only relevant difference: the question of Hillary's emails was asked and answered during that campaign and is now firmly in the rear-view mirror, while the Signal debacle is a clear and present danger to American security today within the current sitting government. So, relitigating Hillary's emails is nothing more, nothing less, than a dodge in order to excuse the current criminal behavior happening right now, not nine years ago.1 point

The last Tiger to do it was JD Martinez in 2017 (2 HR, 4 walks). https://stathead.com/baseball/player-batting-game-finder.cgi?request=1&timeframe=seasons&ccomp[1]=gt&cval[1]=1&cstat[1]=b_hr&ccomp[2]=gt&cval[2]=4&cstat[2]=b_bb&team_id=DET1 point

Tork had five walks in May last year and zero home runs in April. He has to be feeling good about his start tonight.1 point

It is just one game, but Tork looked good at the plate and that makes me happy. He was collected and patient at the plate and when he got his pitch, he made the most of it.1 point

There was a story the other day (ESPN?) about the Royals to the effect that they are working a program to try and improve their pitchers' health - one the things they are pushing is to get their pitchers to use more change of speed to their advantage - i.e. don't throw max effort all the time. I could only think of Skubal as I read that and wished it was something he would do. I've always tended to the belief that one of the reasons JV lasted so long was that he used his top end judiciously early in his career - always a lot of variation within his 4 seam fastball - though in a recent interview I saw, even JV himself has wondered whether he would be able to have the same success pitching the way he did when he came up if were coming up today.1 point

The pitching staff is so strong and deep that, if they stay healthy for the most part, we'll be a top five staff in all of baseball. So, that by itself is going to make the early going interesting. I'd be satisfied taking one of three in LA.1 point
