As an Xmas gift, my wife arranged for a bunch of my family, some of her family, and my best buddy who lives in Boston to all get together for tomorrow night’s game, with my buddy, my wife, and I down on the field for Tigers’ batting practice. Seventeen family and friends will attend. She chose tomorrow’s game because it’s the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, and it’s the Guardians. Very, very thoughtful of her. She’s really good at getting me experience gifts. She’s just the best all around. As for the weather … meh. It can go either way this time of year. If we’re gonna live here, we’re gonna have to accept that. It could just as well have been 90. Ah well, that’s OK. We’re still gonna have a swell time. Can’t wait!

This fall of civilizations series is really tremendous. I even bought the book that accompanies the series. Great graphics, great narrative, the whole series is spectacular. Most of the videos are shorter. This is I think the longest one ever.

Skenes very well maybe worth that much to some team or somebody but not to me he isn't and that's not a slight on him it's just the nature of pitchers and the way the game is trending. If we were completely loaded with great young up the middle players on our roster I'd probably consider it but with all due respect to Sweeney and Meadows I just don't think we are.

Today is Friday so are you going Friday or Saturday? I've done the batting practice thing twice. It's fun. They'll give you the lecture on not to address the players or try to get their attention. Just stand and take pictures and all that. Let them work. It's not a junket. At some point you'll find them coming over to sign things or take pictures if they feel like it. If you are into that have something ready for them to sign. I had to quickly borrow a sharpie and I had Miggy sign my lanyard but we're supposed to give those back when you leave as they give you access to the field, luckily the guy let me keep mine. What was fun for me is watching the stats on the board as they hit showing the velocity and launch angle to try to predict what would be a HR. And just overall watching their process to prepare.

I’m interested to hear the maga spin on the latest “personal time” fiasco. There is no personal time for the President where he’s just allowed to go off the clock and avoid all of the rules and disclosures of the office. This an error in their interpretation of what’s allowed and what’s not. There’s no logical way to defend it. I am sure they will come up it with something about Biden, Obama, or Hillary. It always does.
