I’m envious of all the games the rest of you have seen. The only game I’ve ever seen at Comerica was August 5, 2019 as a guest of our esteemed leader @MotownWebGuy who quite honestly treated me like a king. What a guy! We are fortunate to have him on our side and make this extraordinary playground available to us. It was a great time. It was an ordinary night game that lasted 3:41 minutes. Remember how long games used to be? It was the JaCoby Jones, Niko Goodrum era. Jake was the catcher. Miggy hit into his 14th double play of the year. Turnbull started and only lasted three innings. Gregory Soto took the loss in long relief. Jones hit a triple and a home run. The Tigers lost to the White Sox 7–4. And yes, the White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson treated us like we were his b*tch. The Tigers record at the time was 32–77. We labor under much better circumstances today.3 points

Some interesting things I was looking up about a couple of prospects I have been keeping tabs on. Pacheco must hate even months. April .212/.366/.364 May .337/.440/.627 June .227/.370/.394 July .341/.492/.545 He also hates playing at home .255/.390/.404 vs .311/.442/.576 Away Liranzo has increased his BA each month, all while having only 9 AB's against pitchers younger than him. April .180/.315/.344 May .231/.359/.423 June .242/.377/.435 July .288/.360/.4242 points

Probably correct. All self-directed stuff, so still 'unserious' with respect to having any outward impact, or in particular positive impact, beyond himself. When he bought WaPo, I think there was a hope it was evidence of a philanthropic bent, but maybe it was really just for the media strokes. Sadly, little evidence there are going to be many Andrew Carnegie types among today's generation of dot.com billionaires. Maybe Gates excepted.2 points

Garland barely got started investigating Trump and all the alleged crimes and conspiracies he was involved in, let alone Epstein. The appointment of Merrick Garland was Biden's worst appointment IMO. He dropped the ball and was late to the game on so many things.2 points

Is it? Small sample size and I think circumstances factored in. No college bats this year worthy of our first pick. And with Clark and McGonigle 1-2 in Law’s recent prospect rankings, seems those choices are working out.2 points

I'm sure they do it clandestinely but they need to report the effect bad calls have on games ie, how much the likelihood of an outcome changes because of a bad call.1 point

Hard to say, but you should consult with your physician prior to pitching him.1 point

Melton can move to the pen and give a high K/9 potential. Same with SGL I guess.1 point

I was looking at the Twins roster yesterday and noted some intriguing pitchers (Duran, Coulombe, Jax). Paddack was not one of them. Paddack might be somebody they could fix, but he doesn't seem to address any immediate problem. Perhaps, they think he can work as a reliever?1 point

Similar to last year, and makes sense as a catcher handling a pitching staff. Similar to Dingler's adjustments to new leagues.1 point

Which is why they have had strict rules regarding gambling for a century. Now, they are actively promoting and encouraging gambling. It puts the integrity of the game in jeopardfy even if nobody is doing anything wrong.1 point

The article talks about one of the reasons for the delay on the Canadian side. There is a massive EV battery plant being built nearby, and they don't have enough skilled labor for both projects.1 point

I'm somewhat of two minds about how to run a newspaper in the US today. As much as every voice in advocacy and help 'the cause', I can see the virtue in trying to move a paper like WaPo away from being known for it's editorial page positions back to more of a straight news focus -because that is the only way to ever recover credibility as a news source in such a political charged environment. The thing is it is not at all clear if that is any part of what Bezos is trying to do or not. Frankly it seems at this point in his life he's no longer particularly serious about anything.1 point

Lee has spent all of his his age 22 season at AAA. that's another great data point, if "age at level" is important to you. Max Anderson has spent all of his age 23 season at AA, which is just fine as well.1 point
