Be nice if both sides came together and agreed to elect presidents that aren't morons and who follow the law.6 points

The one I remember living through, that benefitted us, obviously, was the 1987 Blue Jays. They pretty much had to lose all 7 of their last games for us to have a chance - and then they did. Great slide, Bill Madlock ! I remember that last weekend vs. the Blue Jays. Tigers had to sweep. Friday night Scott Lusader hit a HR and made an incredible diving catch Saturday Jim Walewander scored the game winning run from 2nd on a base hit in extras Sunday - Larry Herndon's solo HR was the only run of the game The Tigers and Blue Jays played 7 times in the last two weekends. Jays won the first 3 in Toronto, Tigers won the last game in TO and then swept them at home. All were 1-run games. That was incredible. It's Division-Or-Bust this time. Tigers can't get swept here. They just can't.3 points

Verlander threw 7 scoreless today. His era is down to 3.75. Would be nice to have him in Detroit right now.1 point

Great post and I remember this weekend well. While Larry hit the winning HR on Sunday, this was and will forever be known as the Frank Tanana game.1 point

Well, that’s it. When I go for my physical next week, I’m telling the nurse to put down 5’3”. Last time I was there, they rounded down to 5’1”. since I’m moving, I’ll be looking for a new primary care physician anyway. And I’m gonna just tell the new nurse “let’s start with 5’3”. note: I’ve lied about my height since high school…. Then, somewhere, a doctor’s office actually measured me. Damn. I am returning to that lie now. And nobody better argue with me. 5’3” it is.1 point

When I see them referred with that phrase, I want to jump through my screen and scream at them. Children. They were groomed. And they were children. I’m tired of being this angry. Where have the normal people gone in this government? Trying to exist in this kakistocracy becomes more impossible and more exhausting every day.1 point
