  1. I am functioning Asperger’s who jumps a mile high at sharp loud noises made in an unexpected and unpredictable manner, so I would be completely useless in an infantry. Well, that plus I’m 64 with advanced scoliosis. I’ll keep delivering boxes to food-insecure people of modest means for a Latino-based pantry facing down a federal government trying shut it down instead. That’s my war.

  3. I’m still on board with Dan Campbell. I trust that he will make changes and get this team back on track. That being said, he was ****ing terrible this year. Many reasons the team failed but he needs to take a solid share of the blame.

  4. I still think this roster is one of the most talented in the NFL but some philosophies need to change if the Lions are to take the next step. Dan has to hire real coordinators, not this old retread stuff like with Morton and Lynn with his first mistake guys that weren't even successful at their previous stops, and they should bring in a vet to help Shep because he was clearly in over his head this season. I think the biggest issues with the player personnel is the interior of both lines. I think the one year of experience will remedy this somewhat on the offensive line and Alim being fully healthy (he's not even close now) will help on the D line, but more is needed. Need a center to replace Glasgow (maybe Frazier fills the role) and Alim needs help on the inside. The safeties are also an issue, who knows what's going on with Kerby and Branch won't be back to being Branch until '27-'28 if ever again. The team at its core still has big bounce back potential but some serious questions also need to be answered.

  6. if a team lead by Matt Patricia played like this, people would be calling for his immediate dismissal Dan's built up a lot of goodwill and I am not calling for his head, but this was a gutless performance

  7. I know I complain about this a lot. But the constant noise/music during the OKC game is awful.

  9. Dude coached in Utah, if there were any shenanigans going on, they would have booted him years ago. Unless he has 3 wives, that's totally cool.

  10. its a good short term hire. probably the best short term hire they could get given the circumstances. he runs a similar style program that should fit the talent on the team. he doesnt have anything in his closet that we know of. the drawbacks are that he's not from here and will have to establish recruiting relationships with midwest schools. he's never coached in the big 10. he doesnt seem to have adapted to the new reality of NIL and money. that is the only hurdle i see. well, and that he's 66 and doesnt havr much time left. i would have preferred deboer or dillingham, but this is still a really good hire from an x's and o's and culture fit. besides, dude looks like he's been on the pete carroll workout plan and can probably coach until he's 80! lol.

  12. most of us will be dead before the NFL sees another game like yesterday's: 3 yards passing and a double digit win The only other teams that have won games with fewer than 10 net passing yards over the past 40 years are the 1987 St. Louis Cardinals (4 yards) and the 2006 Houston Texans (minus-5 yards). It's even rarer to win by a double-digit margin, with the last victory for a team by at least 10 points with less than 5 net passing yards coming in 1974.

  13. I think a lot of this post lacks context. Williams played, but had a 1 TFL all year. He made very little impact and seemed like a luxury pic at the time. Ratledge is fine. TeSlaa was burried at fourth on the depth chart all year, and while he had a couple catches, its the problem of drafting a 4 wr development project, and trading up for one, when again there were other needs. The rest dont matter becuase the same could be said for pretty much any 4-7th pick on any team. Thats why people call it a failure. Little impact and when given context its gets worse.

  14. The Spurs beat OKC on 3 different courts. Home, aways, and neutral. They did it with a different top scorer in each game. Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and Fox.

  17. “Corner infielder” seems generous. Murakami is probably more like a first baseman by process of elimination until he can’t hack even that anymore, which shouldn’t be long now. But you might be right in that he’s taking the shorter deal to try to fix his swing and miss issues here, and doing so with a team where there’s almost no pressure to make the playoffs—so he can focus on himself versus on the team—and all while making more money than he ever could at home seems like a winning strategy. If he successfully fixes his issue, he might get way, way into nine figures starting 2028. And if he doesn’t? Well, then, worst case, he can always go back home with money-for-life and rake for another ten years in an only-slightly inferior league that speaks his native language. Seems like a smart plan to me.

  18. This is not the Wayne Fontes Lions. When the current Lions had a functional OL this team imposed itself on even great teams. Not being able to do that was a huge problem. I agree that the amount of time our DBs spend in "panic trail" because of the high use of man might contribute to injuries. Not sure how we fix that unless we are lucky enough to get an effective pass rushing DT somehow this offseason.

  19. Me me I have a pet peeve! Facebook Meta is so stupid. Today when I opened Facebook I got an urgent message from them saying they had removed a picture I had posted seven years ago from my profile and they said it was sexually exploitive of children. And it was was a picture of the scientist Carl Sagan making a joke about science where he says “If science was easy, they would call it your mom.” Which then and now I find hilarious. So here we have Meta hogging the water, and taxing the resources of communities building giant AI farms, and their artificial intelligence can’t even understand a joke that the dumbest person in every room would understand.

  20. I agree. I don’t think they’re that far away. The 2023 Eagles lost six of seven to end the season before winning it all in 2024. The 2018 Niners went 4-12 before going to the Super Bowl in 2019. There are more examples. Good organizations have bad years. They bounce back. I really don’t think this team is the 2024 Commanders. What guys like Jared, ASB, Gibbs, Hutch, Alim, etc. have done is not a flash in the pan. They’re talented. The team needs screws tightened and fat trimmed. It needs a real OC. ”When you knock us down we’ll get back up, smile, and it’ll take two shots to knock us back down.” (Paraphrasing). This is a new test, but I think Campbell and Holmes have earned the fans faith to try to get it done.

  21. This team/organization is nowhere close to done. Their schedule was brutal this year and injuries piled up in specific positions. You add that to being to inexperienced along the line and it doomed their season. I have no doubt that they could run it back healthy next year and probably win the division. I do think Holmes will make the needed roster changes even if we don’t always agree with him and Campbell will make changes to his staff.

  22. Zeitler was an underrated loss. They need to sign a vet.

  23. The defense completely fell apart after he starting play offensive plays. Coincidence? Of course the injuries to Arnold, Joseph and Branch hurt, but maybe he had to neglect the defense somewhat.

  24. I hope that smartest guy in the room Brad Holmes realizes that his next man up approach doesn't always work and you need talent to win football games. I hope he realizes that sometimes that talent comes from outside the organization, not just the players you draft.

  25. St Brown became a drop machine after that too. I'll chalk it up as karma. Overall this year they seem more focused on TD dances than they are with winning games.

  30. No doubt but there comes a point where professionals have to compete better. You can’t get beat every single down. Their QB is so ****ing bad…this is so frustrating

  31. So it cost him a possible $50 million dollars to falsely accuse a fan of making a racist remark and/or a comment about his mother? When a different fan has a cell phone video of the entire exchange that proved the fan was telling the truth and the thug player is a liar? What was he even doing over by the stands? Any NFL player should know better than to engage fans, especially on the road. Pretty stupid.

  36. After next week's blowout loss to the Bears, the Lions will finish the season last in the division with a losing record. That SB window has definitely closed
