  1. I once had a boss tell me there are many ways to fire someone without actually firing them. Just make it impossible to effectively do their job, and make their workplace so unbearably bad that they want to leave. In other word, while the REGIME may not have actually fired them, they probably wanted to rid themselves of talented competent managers. They got what they wanted and the United States is much worse. Also looking at the number of women officers leaving their posts, something tells me there was probably a plan afoot by the REGIME. Where there's smoke, there is firing going on somewhere.

  2. Totally agree. As much as I still scream at the TV for every tiny annoyance, this season has been a joy. Hell, I could just put on a game and watch Ausar play defense for 2 hours and I'm happy. It's insane considering they won 14 games 2 seasons ago and were one of the worst teams in league history - and they didn't do it by adding an All-Star. They did it by changing the coach, culture, internal development, and adding players around the margins. Truly remarkable stuff.

  3. I was there sitting in third base box seats for that game at that moment. Fifth game of the World Series down three games to one. The Cardinals were leading 3 to 1 in the 5th I believe. I had sprained my ankle the day before, but I hobbled into that stadium and hobbled out with joy after we won 5–3.

  7. 100% - And it's amazing what happens when a team decides to truly play on the defensive end. There isn't a team that if they decide to do that honestly night in and night out, won't improve at least 12 games during the regular season. Probably really at least 15 games. But we had a coach that didn't want to be here and the team was stuck with that. I love defense. This team plays defense.

  8. that's the initial question the court will address. if they stop the analysis there and rule that the government cannot amend the law in thia fashion, they are likely to get an 8-1 or 9-0 decision.

  9. Maybe. The government is seeking only prospective relief, meaning that the EO is looking to end birthright citizenship for a particular class of persons moving forward. as you state. However, when the SG was asked at oral argument whether the administration would seek to apply its order retroactively, the SG refused to say that it would not. In other words, the government did not commit that it would not look to rescind the citizenship of US citizens who were naturalized under old laws. As Justice Sotomayor noted, the US has done this before when it rescinded citizenship for american indians. Given the cruel nature of this administration in regards to non-white immigrants, and the bipolar nature of donald trump, i dont think you can say with any certainty he would not look to deport as many brown people as his government agents could get their hands on. And if you disagree, why dont you ask stephen miller what he thinks.

  20. One of my big questions for Yzerman would be why waste a first round pick on an AHL player? Is Cossa really that bad of a player that he couldn't have been on the big league roster this year?

  21. I can tell you with certainty they do not, because at some point last year after one of our softball games, I name-checked Bozo for its comic value during some repartee with my much younger teammates, and their vacant stares and/or rolling eyes told me that they had no idea. Then I asked them, do you even know who Bozo the Clown is? And one guy, I’ll never forget this, he replied, uhhhhh, nooooo—is “Bozo the Clown” in the room with us now, Grandpa? You know, like I was hallucinating. And I had to laugh at that, because it was really pretty funny in the moment.

  25. Regardless what happens to Jenkins the rest of his career, I'll always remember this season for his contribution. Seeing a guy like him get an opportunity, seize it, prove that he not only belongs but is a vital part of a team that's going to win their conference and was displaying leadership qualities almost from day one - he's been a breath of fresh air. Athletes like Jenkins makes watching sports 100% worth it.

  30. I stumbled across this site which shows ice time for various line combinations: https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/ Just for grins I looked up Marco Kasper. People talk about a sophomore slump but last year he spent almost half his even strength ice time with Larkin/Raymond or Kane/Debrincat. This season he spent less than a quarter of his even strength ice time with them. This is not so much a sophomore slump as it is the obvious consequence of pairing a kid with linemates who are replacement level or worse.

  35. I am going to share my current glove again... I assure you that after several months of very muddy Virginia softball it no longer is this bright color. I explained the livery of the color scheme somewhere but its basically the US Air Force TACP crest colors. Blue for Air, Green for Ground, Red for the Firepower we deliver. The new one plays a lot better than my $35 super soft glove that I have to replace the laces on each season. Its great for coaching and having to retrieve balls without having to reach that extra 13" when i'm trying to refill the Jugs machine.

  38. We haven't had an American MVP winner since Harden in 2018. I don't see an American winning it in the immediate future either. If one does, it will probably be the result of the 65 game rule. Who are the American candidates? Cade, Ant, Brown, Tatum, Jalen Johnson? Great players but a step behind the four foreign players, probably. Maybe the way Europeans develop youth talent is better than our system. Ironically, Americans would have a fit if a 14 or 15-year-old turned pro like Luka did. But they are perfectly fine with a kid the same age being taken advantage of by AAU coaches and shoe companies.
