I'm not throwing in the towel on the Tigers at this point, I'm not accepting that we're fated to be a .500 team, and I'm loathe to accept that the Tigers bullpen is exactly what we will see the rest of the season or worse as we see now. It's April 25. We haven't even hit Sparky Day. I'm not about to throw Harris, Hinch, the coaches, and half the roster onto the fire just yet.3 points

LMAO Hutchinson led the NFL in pressures. The right result was to keep Sweat who was better than Greenard last year, cost less, and didn't cost draft picks.2 points

But trading for an injured pass rusher and giving him a large contract is. McNeil was playing at a Pro Bowl level and was healthy. This is just hindsight bull****. McNeil will also be healthy this year and there's no reason he can't return to form.2 points

At work sometimes we get stuff related to the season we're currently working on, usually sweatshirts and a mug or something. Late last year a coworker who is in office (I work remote) reached out saying there was something there for me. He was going to bring it to our holiday party, but I couldn't go to the party in the end because I couldn't find a dog sitter. I messaged the guy and said I appreciate him offering to bring it to the party, I didn't want him to have to worry about it anymore so he could just stash it somewhere in the office or even give/throw it away. No response. Early this week I get an email from him saying he'll mail the stuff to me and I can pay him back. Random, I apologize that he's had the stuff for so long especially since I forgot about it. I just say sure mail it. Package showed up yesterday, I let him know I got it so let me know how to pay him. He sends me his venmo and says it was $17. I have the box in front of me and it clearly says the shipping was $11.32 lmao. I didn't say anything to the guy and just sent $17 but I'm highly annoyed at the whole situation over stuff I didn't even want! Why even send it for $11, I clearly wasn't itching to get this just send it as cheap as possible! Hell send an office PA to my house it has been done before! I feel like I just bought him a drink doing a favor I didn't want and it's annoying me on a Friday!2 points

I never said I liked or disliked the pick. I pointed out that the Lions don’t have the depth at receiver where they can’t take a receiver. One that immediately comes to mind is Hendon Hooker. That was back when y’all still wouldn’t listen to me about Goff. Drafting QBs in the mid round when you have an entrenched started is the right move since the Eagles did it. Trinity Benson was another one I didn’t like. I also didn’t think he got good value for Hockenson.1 point

Defense was bad all game. Late on my close outs and when they did get there, they left their feet a lot and let the shooter reset. Not to keep hounding Cade, but multiple guys beat him off the dribble today.1 point

To your point, the Tigers are 9th in MLB in run prevention (4th in AL) and 16th in runs scored. Run scoring is up a tick from last year (and that is comparing 2026 April to 2025 in its entirety, which suggests the gap will widen even further).1 point

The worst part of watching the draft is listening to these random fans and ex-players announce picks. STFU and read the card!1 point

someone up thread said they miss Meadows - but they played most of last season without him - maybe they are missing McKinstry as much as anyone. Of course pitchers' errors are another problem. Hinch's rep is that they work this stuff hard, but I guess it's not taking.1 point

I always hate to see my team sign old pitchers. The probability of fall off or injury is always higher. We've already had one and can only hope last night is not a sign of the other.1 point

don't underestimate the smaller K zone. Walks are up all across the league, and the Tiger pitchers are actually about average overall. Of course given that Skubal is WAY below average that means everyone else is a bit above, but as a team they are not an outlier (yet?). These guys all need to pitch to the smaller zone - and I don't think anybody should expect to see last yrs ERAs. That said, the converse is that the offense has to better than last year as well because everyone else's will be.1 point

on the red wings' prospects' penchants for sophomore slumps: its much more prevalent here than elsewhere in the league: "Now, this is peculiar. The median data fails to capture the Sophomore slump, implying that while this phenomenon seems fairly common among Red Wings’ young stars, it is not so for the leagues’ sophomores as a whole. This implies that there are environmental factors at play potentially more important than other teams finally having detailed pro-scouting or the mental weight of newfound expectations. For example, in the case of Moritz Seider, as soon as he demonstrated what he was capable of in his rookie campaign he was thrown off the deep end in the following season, logging some of the hardest minutes in the NHL at the young age of 21. This, of course, could potentially help to explain Kasper’s season - he was written in as the second line center at the beginning of the campaign, a position he clearly wasn’t ready for full time (despite rather positive underlying numbers for the first month). The subsequent loss of confidence and line juggling that he dealt with throughout the 2025-2026 season cannot have helped."1 point

I’m not counting on Melton or Jobe this season. Anything we get is a plus.1 point

Going to OT. Houston really pissed that away at the end. I think they were up 5 with about 30 seconds left.1 point

What was the value of Emmanuel Mosley, Ennis Rakestraw, or Marcus Davenport? Brad obviously took a gamble on the talent of all three guys. I'm not saying I'd take him at this point, maybe later on in the 4th or 5th I'd gamble on him. But Brad clearly gambles with injuries when he feels the talent is there.1 point

I always found it amazing that of all pitchers to fly down in front of, that bird had to go on Randy Johnson. Maybe the bird would still be with us if it was Jamie Moyer or Steve Sparks1 point

According to the draft pick value chart, the Lions could get into the bottom of the third round if they gave up all of their remaining picks.1 point

Gotta say, it’s nice to have another starter who can not be on his A-game but still put up zeroes and get out of jams instead of falling apart.1 point

Such a dumb defensive philosophy to value edge setting run defense over pass rush skills. This is a QB league and getting pressure on him is essential to a good defense.1 point

As far as how much to pay him. I think I heard recently that the average starter makes 22M. Duren is better than the average starter. I think 25M is a good floor. I'd be willing to go as high 30M. You could maybe convince me to swallow 35M. Maybe. I'm not touch anything near 40M or more. He's an RFA. If the Pistons are smart, they'll wait and see what offers he gets on the market. I doubt he'll get many because the rules are really stacked against RFA's and nobody wants to tie up their cap space when we can match anything they offer. The Pistons hold all the cards, so why bid against yourself?1 point

I just saw a post on FB repeating an unnamed Georgia Congressman's claim that maybe Virginia should "give back the Democratic part of Northern Virginia to DC". When did they stop teaching history and government in schools. A Republican Congressman who does not know or understand that Virginia (and Maryland) ceded part of their state(s) to create the District of Columbia. I'm all in favor if said Rep would also allow DC to become a state.1 point

Luckily Willie is still with us and IS still talented as bleep lol. When I saw Willie in concert a few years ago with his son, he was not very good and really showed his age. But it was still cool to see Willie in concert and partake at Pine Knob.1 point
