Today was a perfect opening day. Wore shorts. Ditched my light jacket around 11:30. Got home and walked to the local bar for the final fish fry of the season. A mile walk after that. 20,000 steps and a tanned face. and a tiger win.4 points

Maybe. The government is seeking only prospective relief, meaning that the EO is looking to end birthright citizenship for a particular class of persons moving forward. as you state. However, when the SG was asked at oral argument whether the administration would seek to apply its order retroactively, the SG refused to say that it would not. In other words, the government did not commit that it would not look to rescind the citizenship of US citizens who were naturalized under old laws. As Justice Sotomayor noted, the US has done this before when it rescinded citizenship for american indians. Given the cruel nature of this administration in regards to non-white immigrants, and the bipolar nature of donald trump, i dont think you can say with any certainty he would not look to deport as many brown people as his government agents could get their hands on. And if you disagree, why dont you ask stephen miller what he thinks.4 points

I was there sitting in third base box seats for that game at that moment. Fifth game of the World Series down three games to one. The Cardinals were leading 3 to 1 in the 5th I believe. I had sprained my ankle the day before, but I hobbled into that stadium and hobbled out with joy after we won 5–3.3 points

I once had a boss tell me there are many ways to fire someone without actually firing them. Just make it impossible to effectively do their job, and make their workplace so unbearably bad that they want to leave. In other word, while the REGIME may not have actually fired them, they probably wanted to rid themselves of talented competent managers. They got what they wanted and the United States is much worse. Also looking at the number of women officers leaving their posts, something tells me there was probably a plan afoot by the REGIME. Where there's smoke, there is firing going on somewhere.3 points

Totally agree. As much as I still scream at the TV for every tiny annoyance, this season has been a joy. Hell, I could just put on a game and watch Ausar play defense for 2 hours and I'm happy. It's insane considering they won 14 games 2 seasons ago and were one of the worst teams in league history - and they didn't do it by adding an All-Star. They did it by changing the coach, culture, internal development, and adding players around the margins. Truly remarkable stuff.3 points

If Ivey scored 17PPG, shot 40% from three, and played a little defense, he would still be employed.3 points

that's the initial question the court will address. if they stop the analysis there and rule that the government cannot amend the law in thia fashion, they are likely to get an 8-1 or 9-0 decision.2 points

Hi everyone! GOOOOOOOOOO PISTONS!!!! What a fun season this has been to this point! Deleterious with the Kool-Aid man. Gosh, it's been probably more than a decade since I've seen that combo on the message board, but it feels like yesterday right now.2 points

Oh for the love of all that's Holy. JV was terrible. Paul Skenes was worse. Anyone giving up on Skenesy? No JV is 43. He's going to look it at times. He might need a longer ramp. The team's fortune are not riding on starer #4 or 5. The fortunes are riding on the hope that the rookie isn't your best hitter (by a mile) 14 Ks yesterday. Inexcusable. To call JV a flop based on one start is beyond ridiculous. I'm hungry, let's get a taco.2 points

JV got started late due to already existing family commitments and he is old, but I’m not ready to pull the plug on him yet. But yeah, it’s a concern.2 points

I’m not sure why Holmes and Campbell would still communicate with Decker? He asked for his release and they granted it. He’s no longer a Lion so what do they need to talk about? I think the Lions called his bluff. He’ll probably end up signing with another team for less than what the Lions were going to give him.2 points

That article is a great peak behind the curtain, but it does come across as at least a little bit of sour grapes on Decker's part IMO. On January 5, he does two exit interviews with Campbell and Holmes. He says he's going to consider retirement, they say that's totally fine, no problem, we want you back. Don't screw us like Ragnow did though, please let us know by March 10. Decker says no problem, he will let them know, and--oh by the way--he's not interested in a pay cut. On February 22, he says he wants to come back. Campbell says great, he's meeting with Holmes in two days. Holmes doesn't respond. The next day--so before Campbell and Holmes meet--Decker goes public and says he's coming back. Then on February 26, after Holmes and Campbell have met, Decker's agent informs him that the team wants him to take a pay cut. He immediately says no, doesn't even attempt to negotiate. Then Decker says that the possibility of a pay cut wasn't broached in the exit interview, contradicting himself from when he said that it was clear in the exit interview that he wouldn't take a pay cut. Gotta be honest, that all seems reasonable on the team's part. For one, they probably hadn't done a comprehensive analysis of the 2026 roster on January 5 that could tell them "we want you back only if you take a pay cut." Even if they had, they're not going to negotiate a pay cut with the player in an exit interview; that's the agent's job. For another thing, even if Decker did make it clear in the exit interview he wasn't going to take a pay cut, it doesn't mean the Lions in any way accepted those conditions when they said they want him back. They did want him back, they weren't lying in the exit interview. But he forced their hand by basically giving them an ultimatum of either pay me $18MM (the 25th most amount of money to an OT in the league), or I'm not coming back. They made the right choice. And I think that's obvious by nature of the deals that have been signed by top end OTs in free agency. The only thing I would criticize the Lions for is the breakdown in communication. Decker said he hasn't talked to Campbell or Holmes since his release and talked to Fraley only after Decker reached out to Fraley. But that Ben Johnson reached out to him to just check in as a friend. I know they're busy guys, but they could have said something. Sheila/Rod Wood/Spielman too. You can't deny that Decker has done a ton for the org and nobody is interested in another messy divorce like Calvin's (not that Decker is comparable to the kind of player Calvin was). At the very least you could thank him for his years with the Lions and say you hope to welcome him into the Pride of the Lions when he eventaully hangs up his cleats. TLDR: Decker probably has some legit beef about communication, but I don't think the Lions did anything categorically wrong. It's a tough business and they made a business decision.2 points
