I definitely remember this, granted just cause he sucks at ISU right now doesn't mean he would suck at UM but still just another example of fans of major programs fawning over a HC of a mid tier program after a small sample of success.

Good defensive possession there by Michigan to force the quick 3 and out.
-
He's going to be a good one, even though I was high on him pre draft just cause his shooting and athleticism he has already exceeded my expectations in terms of being able to create for himself off the dribble, atleast the 2 times I watched him thus far.
-
JJ took off too early on that 2nd down QB draw play, should've waited for the play to develop more.
-
lol what a terrible playcall there by MSU on 4th down.
-
Great response by Michigan.

Have watched a bit of Sparty all year and Coleman wasn't catching any jump balls like that, now he catches 2 back to back.

The Warriors are playing all their regulars tonight at Charlotte so I wonder if they rest any tomorrow vs. the Pistons? For the Pistons sake I hope they do but for the fans sake I hope they don't since they only play here once a year and this is the only chance for folks to see guys like Curry. Last year my friend got courtside tickets to see the Warriors cause Steph is his son's favorite player only for Steph to sit out, atleast he went and talked to my friend and his kid during timeouts though to make up for it. -
K I knew JV has struggled in WS and Bumgarner has been great but considering the relative small sample size of WS innings this tidbit really blew my mind.
-
It's weird that such a great running team has such struggles inside the 10, has to settle for a FG after 1 and goal at the 5.

Not sure if it's been mentioned or not but Tigers just hired Mark Conner to be the new Scouting Director, he has been with the Padres since 2010. Perhaps @Edman85or @microline133have some information about him?

Bagley won't help on the defensive end or shooting but Cade seemed to play better with him last year since he gave him a good rim runner to throw lobs to so hopefully once he comes back he will atleast help the offense in that regard. -

Well only 6 games in but at 1-5 we are tied for 3rd behind only the win less Lakers and Kings in the Wemby sweepstakes. I'm fine with us finishing there but I hope if we do we have some more competitive games like the one the other night or season opener vs. these blowouts. I hate watching games that are over by the 4th quarter. -
That's good to know, I'm ignorant on the whole subject so I really dont know how the process works but I just remember hearing that the Tigers had strong Venezuelan ties but Venezuela baseball has been down for the past decade which is one of the many reasons why the Tigers system has been bad outside of the few top picks.
-
I did see a couple weeks ago the top player and 2 of the top 5 in either this year's class or next year's were Venezuelan. That would be the Tigers luck that they finally cut ties with Avila and co.(who supposedly had strong Venezuelan connections) right when the Venezuelan pipeline starts to get hot again after about a decade of being down.

Speaking of signing bonuses and such got me thinking about international signings, does anybody know if we have anybody of note lined up to sign this coming signing period?

Yeah iirc the Charlotte Hornets moved merch like hotcakes from their inception in the late 80s to the mid 90s and many folks contributed that to their color scheme which is why expansion teams like the Rockies in baseball and Raps and Grizzlies in basketball went to similar color schemes. Then a bunch of other franchises like the Pistons decided to follow suit and it got to the point where like you said it felt like everybody had teal, purple or something of that sort. -

While admittedly I did like the teal at first, I also was in 9th grade and bright colors were kinda the thing then, with in a couple years though I was ready to go back to the red, white and blue and from what I recall so was everybody else. Now cause of the power of nostalgia people are acting like these are some awesome jerseys. I will say though I do like the DP secondary logo with the tail pipes and flames coming out, I always thought that was pretty cool. -

Hopefully we transform into the 96-97 Pistons when playing on the teal court. -
I think the only reason team's record should come into play is to weigh the differences between performing in a potential high pressure playoff race vs. A low pressure non contender team. There's two schools of thought to this, the first being that it may be easier to do the latter since the games aren't as important ,crowds likely smaller and perhaps you don't always get the other team's best like the contending team might. Otoh you could say all those things makes it more difficult for a player to get up for and perform at his best. Also this player may feel pressure to perform knowing the rest of his team sucks so nobody is going to pick up his slack. Whatever view you have that would be the tiebreaker for me if the stats say it is a toss up.

If Cade isn't going to be a plus 3pt shooter he has to find a way to get to the line more, only going 3-5 times a game just isn't going to cut it if you want to be an efficient scorer. Took 25 shots today to get 26 points. -
Yeah this is what I believe too, unlike some other sports very rarely do players get drafted with the skills to be even average players in the MLB from day 1, that's why most spend atleast a couple years down in the minors so it's up to the development ability of the franchise to make sure you maximize their improvements down there and get the most out of what untapped potential the player has. I think the great teams do this and get the best version of what the player can be where as the Tigers don't. They seem to leave alot of untapped potential on the table due to their lack of ability in this department.

If we had an in house replacement that I was confident in could match Candy then sure dump him but I'm not. Let's not forget that Candy had well over an .800 OPS his previous 200 games prior to this year and led the league in doubles just last year. Also it will be his age 29 season next year so still in his prime years. I just don't see anybody on the FA market for his price or in house that has any better of chance of putting up a plus season than Candy.

The Chadd news is the best news since the Avila firing, its amazing how a guy who's always had an important position in regards to drafting and player development was able to hang on for 20 years when those 20 years produced only 1 star player under his watch and very few even consistently plus players.

This Iowa/OSU game is crazy thus far, we're only 2 minutes into the game and each team has had 2 possessions, there have 2 turnovers, a punt, a FG and a fumble returned for a TD. Iowa up 7-3 but again only 2 minutes into the game.
