  1. Its almost like Chris said "find me somebody who is the polar opposite of Al."
  2. The meteoric crash of Emoni Bates is probably going to be a future 30 for 30 topic some day. From most hyped HS prospect since LeBron as a HS sophomore to essentially a non prospect as a College sophomore and that doesn't even bring into play all the off the court issues.
  3. I like it, seems like he was a guy that many considered in high demand and pegged to run a team shortly so sounds like it could be a good hire.
  4. I don't know if game manager is the right term for him since after all they are scoring a bunch of points but I think Goff has been extremely smart with the ball and risk adverse. He knows who is playmakers are in Swift and St. Brown and he is making sure he is getting them the ball in space. He isn't forcing things and when things aren't there he essentially is just throwing the ball away by putting it somewhere that the defender can't get to, maybe a time will come where he will have to get more aggressive but until that time comes he can keep doing what he is doing and they should be fine cause of some of the weapons they have on the team and there ability to run after the catch.
  5. Is it a coincidence that out of all years they do this it just so happens to be the year Bronny James turns 18? The league is probably salivating at the thought of James and his son playing together in LA but not sure if Bronny is even a real NBA prospect at this point but I'm sure somehow he'll end up in the league whether he is the deserving of it or not.
  6. Im starting to believe the offense can be legit assuming guys like Goff, St. Brown and Swift can stay healthy. If they do I see no reason why they can't win atleast 7 games this year.
  7. I think the Lions broke the Cardinals team after destroying them last year, not only did they finish the year terribly the are about to be 0-2 this year after being down 20-0 at halftime to the Raiders.
  8. haha, bright spot for the B1G is Penn State is up 24-6 at Auburn.
  9. God those bottom feeder B1G teams are terrible. Northwestern lost to Southern Illinois and Purdue to Syracuse. Indiana needed a comeback win to beat Western Kentucky and Rutgers won by 2 against Temple. Not to mention Nebraska getting destroyed by Oklahoma.
  10. I use betMGM just cause I always seem to get the fastest payouts with them. I mostly play table games though and only bet on sports casually so I don't know how their odds differ from other sites. I imagine though that @Deleterious will give the best answer for you.
  11. I can understand this feeling but I think the relative low cost of resources it would take to find the right GM is something that even he would want to put the effort into doing. But of course it's all speculation on my part.
  12. I definitely don't think Chris is as passionate about winning as his Dad was but at the same time I don't think he wants to lose, I mean why would you? He may not want to have a 200 million dollar payroll but why wouldn't he want to get the best GM possible since that cost is relative peanuts?
  13. Michigan has outscored their 3 cupcakes 103-0 in the first half.
  14. I loathe these weak non conference games like this, can't wait to play some real competition.
  15. Yeah that came up short from 62 but it was right down the middle, with the way NFL kickers have looked this year I think Moody may be playing on Sundays next year.
  16. Out of curiousity I wanted to look at the Astros top prospects at the time, this is BA's top 10 for them as of July 21st 2017, I remember hearing at the time Tucker was untouchable so no way we get him but makes you wonder if we could've gotten Alvarez instead of Perez if Avila went that route. 1. Kyle Tucker, OF 2. Franklin Perez, RHP 3. Francis Martes, RHP 4. Derek Fisher, OF 5. Forrest Whitley, RHP 6. Yordan Alvarez, 1B 7. J.B. Bukauskas, RHP 8. Teoscar Hernandez, OF 9. J.D. Davis, 3B 10. Garrett Stubbs, C
  17. Hinch brought up a good point about that play with Javy getting thrown at home. He said that Tork should've taken off for 1st there and if he did maybe out of instinct the catcher leaves the plate to retrieve the ball to throw to first. Edit: Actually come to think of it if Tork takes off for first would he be rewarded 1st base even with Javy being tagged out?
  18. Perez is obviously done and I put Daz's chance of even being an MLB starter at 10% or less at best so the only person left is Rogers. There's nothing he could realistically do to even come close to making the trade even a little lopsided instead of completely lopsided but I do think there's a chance that he could be an average starting catcher if everything goes well with his injury. He did show some pop in his limited time so maybe he could be like an Eric Haase with better defense behind the plate, that would be an ok result for him. Of course what Verlander does this year doesn't really matter in regards to the trade since we could've signed him outright if we wanted to but he said the Tigers didn't even contact him, instead they went after E-Rod so they screwed themselves twice with him.
  19. In other news around the league Pujols hit number 698, I sure hope he gets to 700, outside of Bonds he's probably the best hitter I've seen in my lifetime.
  20. BTW he lowered his ERA to 1.78, from what I can gather outside of the COVID shortened year in 2020 where Bieber had a 1.6 something ERA the lowest in atleast the last 70 years in the AL was Pedro in 2000 with a mind boggling 1.74.
  21. Verlander was talked about earlier in the thread so I figured I post an update on him tonight, came off the DL and all he did was throw 5 no hit innings with 9Ks and 1BB before being pulled for I imagine precautionary reasons since he only was at 79 pitches.
  22. Reyes gets it done with the sac fly, Tigers win and more importantly the White Sux lose!
  23. Lol at Elvis Andrus not liking that strike 3 call despite it being damn near right in the center quadrant of the zone.
  24. I mean that throw wasn't even close! You could've had Shaquille Oneal manning 1st and he wouldn't have been able to get to that ball.
  25. I will say as bad as that looked it did take a heads up play by Kelly and a flawless shovel to the catcher to get him. If Kelly didn't react so fast and scoop it and toss it so cleanly he would've scored but naturally he did everything perfectly since it's the Tigers.
