  1. BTW the radio just cited the analytics of that 4th down FG decision and according to the site they used(I think it was called 4thdown.com) our win probability if we went for it was 81%, 79% for the FG and 73% if we punted so not a real major difference between any of them particularly the first two. Of course this doesn't take context into things like it being a career long kick for an unproven kicker or Swift/St. Brown being banged up if they went for it but it gives you a general idea of what the analytics said.
  2. Its also the AL record and although I don't agree with it there are a relatively high amount of baseball fans that still treat 61 as the real record and think it's a big deal so I think that's the reason it's getting all the coverage and not just cause it's the Yankees team record.
  3. I think we would've covered our entire card if we were playing "NBA Media Day Bingo", nailed all the good cliches.
  4. Well the Bogdanovic trade is now official. Lee, Olynyk plus cash for Bogdan.
  5. Wonder if Okudah is gonna shadow DK Metcalf all day? He's stopped guys like Devonte Smith, McLaughlin and Jefferson but DK is alot more physically imposing than them and may have more straight line speed. If he shuts him down then he will have shut down a wide array of receivers with a bunch of different skillsets.
  6. As Mike Ehrmantraut would say "no half measures", pick a mindset and go all the way with that.
  7. Another reason to do it is to potentially catch the defense off guard if they know you're gonna be snapping it at 1 every time they're gonna be ready but snapping it at 5 or 10 may cause just enough of a delayed reaction by them to create a hole so you can get the big first down or more.
  8. Okudah is most definitely the best surprise for the Lions but of course to offset that Amani has taken a major step back. After his play last year he looked like he was on the cusp of being a legit number 1 DB.
  9. Im still a Fields believer but he is a prime example of taking your qb when you have nobody to help him, historically those guys almost always either fail all together or at the very least take a few years to get going.
  10. That game and play helped produce this legendary headline the next day in Minnesota.
  11. Gotta say I don't really agree with the decision to kick the FG near the end, the risk doesn't justify the reward. Yeah if it would've put us up 2 possessions sure but going from 3 to 6 wasn't a big enough gain to risk giving the opposition great field position if you do miss which considering it was a career long attempt was a relatively high probability. He really should've just gone for it instead, atleast there the reward was that you close out the game instead of the reward being just going from 3 to 6 pt lead. Also I'm not sure your odds of picking up 4 yards was that much worse than an unreliable kicker attempting a career long kick.
  12. Minnesota should cruise into the B1G Championship Game.
  13. Crazy that false start was only the 2nd penalty all game between the two teams and first on Maryland. Can't remember the last time if ever I watched a game with that few of penalties.
  14. JJ's been reckless with his scrambling but I think he's been too cautious in regards to throwing the ball, they haven't shown a ton of replays to show how the receivers have been covered but I find it hard to believe that none of them have created any space on some of these drop backs. You can't only throw to guys when they are wide open.
  15. You got to take a shot downfield on 3rd down if you're McCarthy, worst case scenario it gets intercepted at mid field right where you would punt it at anyway.
  16. He's coming off TJ so you never know but they will be getting Turnbull back to start the year and hopefully Skubal by June but yeah still a lot of question marks but if all goes well it may not be as bad as it seems right now.
  17. They didn't look great but it's still only 1 half, I'm not gonna judge them too harshly just yet.
  18. The Randy Marsh jinks strikes again, this time on Moody.
  19. Without actually seeing the receivers it's hard to tell if they're not getting open or if JJ is being too cautious and not throwing to them unless they are wide open.
  20. JJ with his best Shea Patterson impression on that last throw.
  21. Damn these 2 kickers may both be playing on Sundays.
  22. Yeah on second thought I didn't need to preface it with kicking team cause I don't think a receiving team could return a kick to the end zone that fast unless it was an onside kick straight to Usain Bolt.
  23. Michigan up 7-0 3 seconds into the game...and they kicked off! I don't think I have ever a kicking team score a TD that fast.
  24. It's a lot of ifs but I think the ifs are plausible and that's if Greene and Tork turn into impact bats like we originally expected, Baez hits like he has the past couple months, Carpenter is a league average or slightly better bat and Meadows comes back healthy like his old self next year the offense won't look so bad. For reference We're 20th in runs scored in the past month with Baez playing better, if you add a better Greene/Tork to that along with Meadows and maybe a FA upgrade and it's not hard to see where we could be in the 10-15th range next year. If we can get there and the pitching holds up like it has this year and we could be alot better.
  25. The article on The Athletic yesterday broke down how are running schemes are throwing off modern defenses that are built to stop the passing game. Reminds me of a couple years ago when Tennessee made the AFC Championship game, Vrabel said something like "teams want to keep getting smaller in the interior and at LB so we're going to counter that by forcing them to try to tackle Derrick Henry"
