  1. It makes you wonder if Reynolds truly was a priority for the Lions or if they really didn't even want him back. Maybe they feel that DPJ or a potential WR draft pick could provide just as much or more for the offense if given the reps that Reynolds got.
  2. Another idea I was thinking of that isn't as drastic is setting a quarterly limit on how many 3s you can miss, not a hard limit but say after 10 or so misses every miss after counts as a loose ball team foul or something? So if you're making them you're rewarded by being able to keep firing but if you're not it prevents teams from just chucking them every possession.
  3. Haven't been keeping up with Maeda but were warning signs in Spring Training? I know the last couple months of the season last year he finished as one of the best starting pitchers statistically but maybe that was all just smoke and mirrors.
  4. Fangraphs pegged the Phillies bullpen to be the best in baseball....they responded by giving up 9 runs in their first game today.
  5. Box score scouring tonight and I noticed that Scoot Henderson had a tidy -58 +/-. don't think I've ever seen one that bad before.
  6. Introduce a 2.5 pt line in the mid range area?
  7. I was of course being tongue and cheek but I guarantee that tomorrow on the radio either a host(s) will be that reactionary or a caller(s) will be. It happens every year no matter the sport.
  8. If the Tigers win they are winning the division, if they lose they are finishing in last place so needless to say this is a MUST WIN!
  9. While the numbers may not have shown it I did feel like he looked alot better as a true WR the last month or so of the season including the playoffs. By that I mean he didn't just run go routes to the pylon, he was actually running a variety of different routes and making some impressive catches where he came back for the ball. Im hoping it's a sign of him growing as a receiver and showing that he can be more than just a deep threat or gadget guy.
  10. Even when he was drafted people were saying that there was a strong possibility that he'd end up in the bullpen so I can't say I'd be surprised if that is indeed where he ends up. The question is can he become a shutdown guy at the back end of it? If so there is definitely value in that so it wouldn't be the worst outcome for him.
  11. That makes sense but I wonder if the owners preferred the off day being on Friday while school is in session vs. a Sunday?
  12. Yeah I vaguely remember hearing about the construction mistake and I thought along the similar lines of just doing something with the stands instead. Admittedly I know nothing about things like this so I don't know how expensive or feasible it would be to just get rid of that last section of seats that overhang it that really blocks the bottom left hand corner of the scoreboard. It doesn't appear to be more than like a 100 seats so to me atleast it doesn't seem like it would be that big of deal to do.
  13. Lions resigned Sudfeld today. I don't know what to make of it other than Get you somebody that loves you like the Lions love Nate.
  14. Valenti brought it up yesterday but I wonder with these new kickoff rules if the Lions would entertain the thought of having Jamo back there as another way to possibly get him more involved and make an impact? Maybe not all the time but sneak him in there here and there and see if he can break one. On somewhat similar note I see the Steelers signed famed returner Cordarelle Patterson almost immediately after the new rules were passed so it seems that teams may already be trying to find ways to take advantage of it.
  15. I'd be fine with Chark, while it would be nice to have another stud receiver they really don't need one with St. Brown, Laporta and hopefully an improved Jamo but I do feel they need atleast one more semi reliable guy to fill that role. DJP is a possibility but I still want atleast one more guy for reassurance.
  16. I kinda blocked the 2nd half of that game out of my mind so I forgot about those drops, those were indeed killers.
  17. Yeah looks weird not being 4 sided but my ocd has been bothered by the whole scoreboard since the place opened. Having the left field bleachers over hang part of it has always bugged me, feels like the scoreboard should be atleast 20ft more towards centerfield so that would've been avoided.
  18. I'm too lazy to look but I know Copa naturally plays a lot smaller in the hot summer months, so I wonder if in the years where the park factor was lower if the Tigers happened to play more home games in the early spring or September/October? I don't know if it would be enough to make that big of a difference but say in the down years they had 10-15 more home games in those cooler months vs. the summer could that explain the disparity between years?
  19. Not that power rankings mean anything but ESPN put out their post FA one today and the Lions are number 2 behind the Chiefs. I have to believe this has to be the highest they have ever been on any power rankings since that became a thing.
  20. Why would you tell everybody you reached out to him then say it's none of your business when asked if you talked to him?
  21. I do feel that if the Tigers had anybody they were truly confident in that they would be starting over Javy regardless of Javy's contract. I don't buy into the fact that they are starting him solely based on that. If they had a Jackson Holliday in their system right now I can almost guarantee he'd be on the team and Javy would either be DFA'd or relegated to the bench.
  22. I think it was the overall stuff that them two showed that helped them make the team and not necessarily the stats. For instance if they put up great stats but were throwing 90 instead of a 100 I'm not so sure they make it.
  23. Javy sucked offensively in 2020, had a great 6 week stretch with the Mets in 2021 to boost his numbers, sucked in 2022, sucked in 2023 and has looked lost thus far in 2024 albeit a small spring training sample size. The odds of him suddenly turning around and being close to average offensively is slim to none for me.
  24. While it's not a guarantee it's possible that the Lions will recoup that Davis pick they traded anyway if/when he walks next year.
  25. I haven't been keeping up with CBB the last 2-3 years since Michigan has been bad but I know FAU made the Final Four last year and Louisville was interested in May so I presume this is a good hire.
