  1. I biggest fear with the Packers is coming to fruition and that is that Love looks the part of a Pro Bowl QB. If this isn't a half year wonder and he is indeed legit than the Packers are going to be a problem not just in these playoffs but going forward.
  2. I remember back in day on the old board the former poster Mickey was proclaiming every year that "this is the year father time catches up with Lebron", here we are almost 10 years after he started that and it still hasn't caught up to him yet atleast to any real extent.
  3. Don't want to think about losing but if the Lions were to lose I'd be pulling for SF, not that I like them really but along with the Bucs I probably dislike them least out of the teams that will be left in the NFC. I like Stafford but hate McVay and just don't like LA "fans" don't think they deserve to get another Super Bowl. The Cowboys and Packers hate is self explanatory and while I don't hate them I strongly dislike the Eagles as well.
  4. Only way I'm drafting Bronny is if I knew his Dad would come with him. edit: See that Del beat me to that point.
  5. Also I soured on Stafford when he said something of the effect of "This is the first big game I played in my career" when talking about the Rams playoffs a couple years ago. As if he didn't play in 3 playoff games for the Lions and another 3 or 4 that were for division championships...he of course lost them all though.
  6. I don't think people are saying that you should hate Stafford in general, hell remember how many people were pulling for him and the Rams a couple years ago but that you shouldn't celebrate or cheer for him against the Lions in a game of this magnitude. He's gone and while I have no problem rooting or celebrating former players I'm not going to do that in a game as big as this one. As for Kelly, I really don't follow her social media, the only things I know about her are from the snippets that people post but from what I seen she does come across as really annoying. But again don't know enough about her to say too many negative things about her.
  7. I don't know if it was on purpose or not but I found it amusing seeing so many jerseys from former Lions. Stafford of course due to the video but also saw a few Barry's, Calvin Johnson, Jahvid Best and even Joey Harrington. Hell not a Lions jersey but also saw Justin Herbert jersey for some reason, like wtf? we didn't even play the Chargers at home so why sport that to a Lions game? The only current players I saw was 1 Hutchinson walking with a guy with the Stafford jersey and 1 Goff.
  8. Definitely the smart move on JJ's part, I could see him testing really well at the combine as well and some team falling in love with him. He's certainly not going to pass Caleb or Maye but I could see a chance of him being the 3rd QB off the board based if he tests well. As for the portal this is what worried me a month ago and that's that all the good QBs will already be taken before we have any shot at them. Not exactly sure how it works so maybe it will open up again and new guys will enter and be enticed by the defending champs having a QB opening and come here but if that isn't the case and you can only pick from the guys that are currently on it I don't really know who is left that is any good.
  9. Definitely winning the turnover battle will be a key but it also will come down to avoiding and/or forcing the more painful turnovers like the ones in either red zone. Stafford is known for throwing alot of 3rd and long picks and while those count as turnovers they ultimately don't result in much of a difference than a punt would so winning the battle that way won't really impact things that much. To me I think both teams will move the ball relatively easy from one 20 yard line to the other, it's going to come down to who performs in the red zone and who can avoid the aforementioned "painful turnover" like the kind that takes potential points off the board or gives your opponent potential points.
  10. They essentially traded 2 seconds and Livers to get out of the Bagley contract a year early. It's a meh move on my part, yeah it's nice to have 13 million more this offseason but it doesn't do us any good if it isn't put to good use. Also although 2nd rounders rarely amount to anything you can sometimes find guys particularly early in the round so they aren't completely valueless.
  11. Reminds me of a time years ago I was at a Tigers game and we had these obnoxious Royals fans sitting next to us, I jokingly asked them "how does one become a Royals fan anyway?" and they said something like "We have family in Kansas", since I was being snarky that night I responded with telling them that they play in Missouri and they were genuinely surprised. Of course I'm sure people in Kansas still root for KC teams but I just found it funny that these guys legit didn't know that the Kansas City that the sports team play at was in Missouri.
  12. Yeah Buggs is on my **** list now. I get being excited and happy for your first playoff win but you don't need to throw shade at former teammates, especially since he wasn't exactly playing "like a dawg" himself. Not that I would ever agree with players making comments like that but I can atleast understand if you are like some stud who dominates but the rest of the teams sucks so it doesn't matter but that obviously wasn't the case with Buggs.
  13. I think both are FAs at the end of the year so it essentially gets us out of the Bagley contract a year early. The bad news is that this just frees up more time for Wiseman to play.
  14. The supposed strength of McDaniel is his offensive mind but it appears that teams adapted to that fairly quickly as the Dolphins offense was shut down for the most part in the 2nd half of the season. Only once did they score over 20 points in the last 7 weeks.
  15. Looking at that picture a little more closely I can't help but notice they have somebody in a Calvin Johnson jersey too, its like the NFL has no idea who plays for our team now so they just jerseys of past greats, surprised somebody isn't wearing a number 20 jersey as well. Edit: I do genuinely love the fact that they included the Macho Man Randy Savage fan so they atleast know about some of our more famous fans.
  16. I love that jacket Jim is sporting, I think I might have to go buy one.
  17. I'd accept the "We Love number 9" sign on the requirement that it has a picture of Jameson Williams attached to it!
  18. I mean this isn't surprising but I have to admit that it is pretty annoying to me that now even the NFL is focusing more on Stafford's return than the Lions actually hosting a playoff game for the first time in 30 years.
  19. I guess at the very least he could be a good decoy for plays around the goal line or big 3rd or 4th down conversions but lets hope that he can be more than just that.
  20. Speaking of JJ, one of Harbaugh's biggest moves since he was here was being committed to JJ despite the team's success with Cade in 2021. It may seem like a no brainer of a move but I think there may have been plenty of coaches who wouldn't have wanted to rock the boat and just stuck with the guy that got them there and in turn probably lost the more talented player which is what would've happened with JJ if we didn't go with him.
  21. Yeah JJ is definitely gone, if he was staying no reason he wouldn't have just announced it at the ceremony. Can't say I blame him though, while he could potentially improve his draft stock with another year and maybe even be in contention for the top QB off the board if he takes a huge step when you are already projected to be a 1st round pick that isn't enough incentive for me to take that risk and play another year especially when you just accomplished your goal of winning the championship anyway.
  22. Not necessarily commenting on it cause of this game cause I'm sure the weather is playing its part but in general its funny/impressive how the Chiefs defense has now become the strength of the team. Most metrics have it as a top 5 or even 3 defense and it does pass the eye test, where as the offense has been hit or miss most of the season.
  23. Crazy to think that the Texans are now just 2 wins a way from the Super Bowl after where they were at like 9 months ago. Landing Will Anderson and most importantly CJ Stroud in the 1st round was a complete franchise altering day for them. Oh and of course how could I forget hiring Ryans and his staff. Amazing how quickly things can change when you bring in a great coaching staff and knock your draft out of the park.
  24. Looks like the clock struck Midnight for Flacco as he throws back to back pick 6s as the Texans continue to pour it on.
  25. I'm not going out on much of a limb in terms of my playoff predictions since I'm going with SF and Baltimore in the SB with Baltimore winning it. If I were to have to choose a non 1 seed than I think I would go with our Detroit Lions and Buffalo.
